Natural ventilation is the process of replacing air in the room with fresh air from outside the room without the help of mechanical equipment. The use of natural ventilation in a building in addition to producing healthier and more comfortable spaces can also increase energy efficiency. The shape of the building and the position of the openings determine the natural ventilation operation method. The principle of ventilation shows how the exterior and interior air flow is connected. Kleiven in his thesis entitled Natural Ventilation in Buildings (2003) revealed that there are 3 principles of natural ventilation. Those are single sided ventilation, cross ventilation, and stack ventilation. [10].
Setiabudi is a subdistrict in South Jakarta and located within Golden Triangle of Jakarta (SegitigaEmas Jakarta), a triangular area of business and commercial establishments in Jakarta. Setiabudi Subdistrict is bounded by Cideng River - MentengPulo Road - a water channel to the east, a flood channel to the north, JenderalSudirman main road to the west, and JenderalGatotSubroto main road to the south.

This paper presents the study of application massing configuration in typical urban houses in Jakarta. The study is aimed to present architectural project examples by architectural firm Studio Arsitektropis based on operative and conditional design strategies. The results showed that the operative and conditional design strategies could facilitate and become a quick design tools to produce the massing design concept, which emphasizes the sustainable aspect of natural lighting and air circulation; stack effect ventilation. The steps of study are as follows: (1) to study spatial verbs of massing design concept, (2) to study conditional design of architectural elements, and (3) to apply these studies into the conceptual design process within the practice of Studio Arsitektropis housing works in Jakarta.
This paper presents the study on one aspect of natural ventilation, which is cross ventilation. The study is aimed to investigate the optimal louvre window type to maximize the wind speed required to enter the room in order to maintain the comfort ventilation inside the room. This aspect is necessary because the vertical housing is aimed for fishermen at MuaraAngke that have low income economy and could not afford to pay for excess energy usage for air conditioning. The result shows that not all type of louvre could maximize the wind speed required. The steps of the study is as follows: (1) to study the optimum wind speed required for comfort ventilation, (2) to study the aspects of cross ventilation, (3) to study the optimal louvre window type that can maximize the wind speed required.
This paper describes how accessibility problem in the Kampung Melayu Terminal. problems in the form of lack of security and convenience for users of public transportation. Using a walkability approach that refers to the safe and security component and cones again to the crossing safety variable. Crossing safety problems are mostly encountered at several points on the site. The solution to this problem is to use a non-level crossing facility in the form of a Public Crossing Bridge (JPO) and underpass. Users and vehicles have separate zones / each has their zoning. Because, by having good circulation and mobilization, minimizing the movement of accidents between users and vehicles, JPO and underpass can streamline the area by being able to support other needs such as the provision of purchase tickets, waiting areas and others. Traffic, Users are protected from hot and rainy weather and Integrates indirect public transportation.
