Abstrak Pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk menciptakan, menimbulkan kesukaan, dan ketertarikan siswa terhadap pelajaran sains, mengenalkan beberapa macam alat sederhana dan penggunaannya, mengetahui dan melaksanakan praktikum fisika, kimia dan biologi sederhana yang bisa dilakukan dengan memanfaatkan alat dan bahan yang tersedia di SDK Tes. Kegiatan pengabdian ini dilaksanakan di SDK Tes pada hari Rabu tanggal 16 Agustus 2017. Materi pengabdian berupa materi permainan sains, antara lain perbedaan tekanan udara, uangku terbakar uangku utuh, mengapung atau tidak mengapung, membuat magnet sederhana, memahami prinsip kayu (dayung), posisi air pada gelas besar terbalik, cangkang telur jauh lebih kuat dari yang terlihat, telur ajaib, kekuatan air, pembiasan cahaya, udara dan pembakaran, tes kerapatan. Pelaksanaan demonstrasi tersebut dilakukan dengan menggunakan interaksi yang baik antara siswa dengan guru. Siswa tidak malu untuk bertanya dengan guru. Hal ini memudahkan siswa memecahkan masalah yang dihadapinya. Selain itu, guru tidak menggerutu atau memarahi siswa yang mengalami kegagalan dalam melakukan percobaan atau demonstrasi. Para siswa SDK Tes sangat antusias, aktif, interaktif dan tidak kaku dalam belajar IPA. Para guru SDK Tes mengenal praktikum sains (Fisika, Kimia dan Biologi) sederhana yang bisa dilakukan dengan memanfaatkan alat dan bahan yang tersedia di lingkungan sekitar.

One of the software for compiling a bibliography automatically can take advantage of the facilities of the Mendeley Desktop application. Mendeley Desktop is a reference management software that helps organize scientific articles, namely in creating citations and bibliography. With this software, writers can manage reading sources that are used as references in compiling their writings. The use of Mendeley Desktop can also be integrated with Microsoft Word, so it can be more easily for writers for each scientific paper. The purpose of holding this training activity is to help the teachers of SMP Swasta Gita Surya Eban in order to utilize of the facilities provided by the software and the citations and references on the Mendeley Desktop so that scientific writing can be done more easily, quickly, and efficiently. From the training results, it was found that the training carried out could add knowledge and solutions to the use of Mendeley Desktop with the evaluation results increase significantly. The writers hope that by holding this training, teachers at SMP Swasta Gita Surya Eban can apply the citation / reference software from Mendeley Desktop in writing scientific papers.
Desa Fatunisuan terletak dalam wilayah Kecamatan Miomafo Barat, Kabupaten Timor Tengah Utara, Provinsi Nusa Tenggara Timur yang identik dengan topografi berbukit-bukit dan terletak di dataran tinggi. Berdasarkan hasil riset, di Kecamatan Miomaffo Barat secara menyeluruh terdapat jenis tanaman jeruk keprok dan umbi-umbian. Riset khusus untuk mengidentifikasi dan menginventarisasi jenis tumbuhan endemik dan bemanfaat di Desa Fatunisuan belum pernah dilakukan hingga saat ini. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengidentifikasi jenis tumbuhan endemik dan bermanfaat dari kelompok tumbuhan tingkat tinggi (phanerogamae) dan karakterisasi senyawa metabolit sekunder yang terkandung dalam ekstrak daun tumbuhan tersebut. Metode penelitian yang digunakan merupakan mix method antara eksplorasi dan eksperimen. Metode eksplorasi untuk mengidentifikasi jenis tumbuhan, dan metode eksperimen dengan uji skrining fitokimia untuk karakterisasi jenis senyawa metabolit sekunder. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa di desa Fatunisuan terdapat tujuh jenis tumbuhan yang endemik dan bermanfaat bagi masyarakat desa setempat yakni Santalum album var. largifolium Rudjiman et Adrie, Santalum album L. var. album ziphus mauritiana, Pinus merkusii, Piper majusculum Blume, Coffea arabica, Arenga pinnata, dan Aleurites moluccana. Hasil karakterisasi jenis senyawa metabolit dari ke tujuh ekstrak daun tumbuhan tersebut dapat diketahui bahwa ekstrak daun Santalum album var. largifolium Rudjiman et Adrie maupun Santalum album L. var. album ziphus mauritiana dan ekstrak daun Coffea arabica memiliki kandungan lima jenis senyawa metabolit sekunder yaitu Alkaloid, Fenolik, Saponin, Flavanoid, dan Triterpenoid. Ekstrak pelepah daun Arenga pinnata maupun daun Aleurites moluccana memiliki kandungan lima jenis senyawa metabolit sekunder yaitu Alkaloid, Fenolik, Steroid, Saponin, dan Flavanoid. Sementara itu ekstrak daun Pinus merkusii memiliki kandungan enam jenis senyawa metabolit sekunder yang terdiri dari Alkaloid, Fenolik, Saponin, Flavanoid, Triterpenoid, dan Tanin. Sedangkan ekstrak daun Piper majusculum Blume memiliki kandungan lima jenis senyawa metabolit sekunder yaitu Alkaloid, Fenolik, Steroid, Saponin, dan Tanin
The purpose of this community service activity is to provide an introduction to training in making scientific papers for teachers of Gita Surya Eban Junior High School. Furthermore, the background for the implementation of this socialization is to provide information about how to make educational and non-educational scientific papers, as well as provide information to teachers on the importance of making scientific papers as a prerequisite for promotion and class. This service activity has been carried out since November 2020 with 18 participants. This activity is carried out by introducing the types of research that are experimental in the laboratory.
The teacher is a party that has great responsibility in achieving learning goals. One of the competencies that must be possessed by teachers is pedagogical competence. This research was conducted with the aim of uncovering the problems of teacher pedagogical competence in learning, as well as alternative solutions that can be done to overcome these problems. The method used in this research is literature analysis. The literature is a scientific article that discusses the problems of teacher pedagogical competence. The results of the study show that the problem of teacher pedagogic competence is the lack of the teacher's ability to plan, implement and evaluate the learning that is carried out. Planning, implementation and evaluation are related to all aspects of learning, be it objectives, materials, methods or evaluation. Alternative solutions that can be implemented are increasing teacher awareness of the importance of self-motivation, maximizing the function of the LPTK (Educational Personnel Providing Institution) in preparing competent teacher candidates and maximizing the function of teacher competency development programs.
The purpose of this study was to determine students' perceptions of e-learning during the COVID-19 pandemic. This descriptive study was conducted by using a questionnaire technique for Biology Education students at the Faculty of Educational Sciences, Timor University. The total students involved in this study were 171 students from the first year until the third year who have been selected randomly; a Descriptive Techniques were used as the analysis tools. The result shows that students have a good perception of e-learning which can be seen in students' knowledge and understanding of e-learning. Students stated that they knew about using the internet as much as 97.7%, understood e-learning by 89.5% and the ease of operation was 85.5%. The implementation of e-learning with the Edmodo platform shows that it was most widely used, namely 54.7% of students, then Google Classroom with 45.3% of students. This is because students have not known yet about other various types of e-learning platforms available on the Internet and the two platforms were considered light and easy to operate with complete features. Meanwhile, 97.1% of students stated that e-learning was very useful in supporting the teaching and learning process. The main obstacle faced by students in e-learning were the unstable network connection, power outages, the availability of cellphones and data packages. This research could give the knowledge about the level of students’ knowledge about e-learning, various platforms and the obstacles faced during the implementation of e-learning.
This research was conducted with the aim of revealing the level of knowledge related to COVID-19 among state university students, in the NKRI-RDTL border area. This study includes a qualitative descriptive study involving the population, namely all active students of state universities, Timor University, which are located in the border area of the Republic of Indonesia-RDTL. By using a simple random sampling technique, obtained 1181 students as respondents. The research instrument in the form of a knowledge questionnaire related to covid was distributed to respondents offline and also online using the google form. The results showed that 17.7% of respondents had knowledge at a low level, 62.66% of respondents had knowledge at a moderate level, while 19.64% of respondents had knowledge at a high level. Among the 4 aspects of knowledge, knowledge on the etiology and symptom aspects, as well as aspects of preventing the spread of covid-19, are at a high level with an average value of each aspect, namely 85.61 and 83.09. Meanwhile, knowledge on aspects of risk groups and aspects of the spread of COVID-19 is at a low level with an average value of 51.54 and 54.19. This needs attention because the quality of knowledge basically has a relationship with attitudes and behavior related to COVID-19
