Resumo A Educação Popular em Saúde (EPS) constitui um campo de conhecimentos, saberes e práticas, permeado pela escuta, pelo diálogo e pela ação. Com um conjunto de experiências e produções nacionais, é um movimento político-pedagógico que articula forças de vários segmentos sociais, populares, trabalhadores de saúde, educadores e pesquisadores da saúde coletiva, dentre outros atores. Sendo fundamentada por autores como Paulo Freire, Victor Valla, entre outros, a EPS vem sendo fortalecida nas dimensões da formação, da participação, da gestão e do cuidado em saúde. O Grupo Temático (GT) de EPS da Associação Brasileira de Saúde Coletiva (ABRASCO) vem ajudando a fomentar, desenhar e expressar, apesar do desmonte vivido nos tempos de hoje na cena pública brasileira, processos de vocalizações da construção e desenvolvimento de processos educativos participativos e democráticos no Brasil. O presente artigo apresenta as experimentações e elaborações dos membros do GT através do relato dos componentes do núcleo de coordenação colegiada das últimas gestões, período reconhecido de mudanças nos cenários políticos, sociais, econômicos, educativos, sanitários, incluindo a influência da atual crise planetária que vivemos, pelos efeitos da COVID-19, especialmente na sociedade brasileira.
Em meio ao crescimento de um modelo neoliberal conservador na atual agenda pública brasileira, a Educação Popular em Saúde (EPS) apresenta-se como possibilidade para a produção de experiências direcionadas à constituição da saúde como direito; para mais, está também compromissada com o desenvolvimento do protagonismo das pessoas na busca pelo bem viver e pelo enfrentamento crítico às determinações sociais da saúde. O presente artigo aborda a EPS nos processos formativos, seus desafios e perspectivas. Centralmente, são problematizados aspectos como: a criticidade nos movimentos e nas práticas de EPS; os processos formativos críticos e mobilizadores do protagonismo; a ação em rede; e a articulação da luta dos movimentos e das práticas de EPS. Espera-se que essas reflexões contribuam com a alimentação do debate em torno da EPS e seu papel enquanto referencial teórico e metodológico para a formação na área da saúde.
Este artigo apresenta reflexões com base na experiência e na pesquisa desenvolvida com as mulheres camponesas vinculadas atualmente ao Movimento de Mulheres Camponesas e também na interação com grupos, movimentos, articulações, práticas e coletivos de educação popular em saúde que atuam em todas as regiões do Brasil. Identificamos as bases do contexto e do cotidiano de vida, de resistência e de luta dessas mulheres camponesas, suas interfaces com os processos de saúde-adoecimento, bem como as contribuições político-pedagógicas que emergem nas práticas de cuidado, promoção e educação popular em saúde, próprias desses atores sociais.
No seio das iniciativas da área da saúde, a educação popular configura um trabalho social, no qual o agir é orientado pelo diálogo, no compartilhamento de conhecimentos comprometidos com a transformação social, assentada em utopias como direitos iguais para todos, emancipação humana, social e material. A cada dia, qualifica-se a produção teórica e prática provinda das experiências de Educação Popular em Saúde (EPS). Assim, vai se evidenciando um campo teórico como uma teoria do trabalho social em saúde; uma concepção alçada à epistemologia, possuidora de princípios éticos, teóricos e metodológicos. No presente ensaio, compartilharemos reflexões sobre a EPS, apontando provocações com o intuito de alimentar o debate e o pensamento autoavaliativo dos protagonistas dos movimentos e das práticas de EPS em todo o país ante os exigentes desafios da próxima década. Dentre os aspectos desenvolvidos, destacam-se: a centralidade da insistência na promoção e no aprimoramento da participação popular no agir cotidiano em saúde; a dimensão ética, política e epistemológica da EPS para o agir em saúde; a necessidade de transcender o metodologicismo; e a EPS diante do ultraliberalismo e do ultraconservadorismo na sociedade e nos espaços públicos
