This research aims to investigate the process of recruitment, selection, and implementation of the Indonesian language assistant program of the Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI) in Australian schools. The main purpose of this research is to find out the processing stages and to see strengths and weaknesses in each stage of the recruitment and selection process held at UPI. The data were collected through survey questionnaires, in-depth interviews, and documents of the Indonesian language assistants on the implementation of the program. The questionnaires and interviews were directed to the members of recruitment and selection team, alumni, and candidates of the Indonesian language assistants. A descriptive qualitative method was applied to explore and analyze the activities of the language assistants' candidates and alumni in each of the overall stage processes. The results show that there are some stages of recruitment and selection process, which are then described in a figural process. The recruitment covered the submission of a curriculum vitae completed by relevant administrative documents to qualify for registering the program. The selection process required skills and competences of the candidates in Indonesian language, English, Indonesian and Australian cultural knowledge and skills and self-management. Accordingly, a system development for recruitment and selection process to result in more competent candidates for the Indonesian language assistants is urgently needed to elaborate the whole process in efficient manner. Pendekatan deskriptif-kualitatif diterapkan pada penelitian ini untuk menggali dan menganalisa secara mendalam kegiatan-kegiatan calon dan alumni guru bantu dalam setiap tahapan proses. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ada beberapa tahapan proses rekrutmen dan seleksi, selanjutnya akan digambarkan dalam bagan tahapan proses. Improving students’ critical thinking is very important in learning process because one of the goals of critical thinking is to develop students ' critical thinking in the perspective of collectable information. The approach used to address the problem of critical thinking is through learning style and metacognitive skill. The Student Creativity Program is a great way to hone critical thinking at the university level. This research is intended to find out the level of metacognitive skills, learning style, and critical thinking and the influence of metacognitive skills and learning styles among a total of 55 students of a Korean Education Study Program at a state university in Indonesia in the context of Student Creativity Program. This research used survey to find about students’ learning styles and their level of metacognitive skill. A test was also conducted to find out the level of students’ critical thinking. The data were calculated by the SPSS to test the hypothesis. The research results for learning styles show that 33 (60%) of the students were in the “medium” category and 22 (40%) were in the “high” category, and there was no student categorised into the “low” category. In terms of metacognitive skills, 53 students (98.2%) were in the “high” category and 2 (1.8%) in the “medium” category, and no one was in the “low” category. All students were identified to have “high” level critical thinking. SD Negeri Tlompakan 01 -Tuntang ABSTRAKKeluhan guru dalam pembelajaran PKn pada saat ulangan harian dan semeter nilainya rendah . Dan penerapan sikap dalam kehidupan sehari-hari sangat kurang.Guru mengajar belum menggunakan metode yang sesuai dengan materi pembelajaran. Penggunaan metode sosiodrama untuk dapat meningkatkan prestasi siswa dalam pembelajaran PKn di SD Tlompakan 01 sangatlah perlu. Adapun tujuan dari pelelitian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan keaktifan dan hasil belajar siswa dalam pembelajaran PKn yang dilandasi dengan penerapan sikap dan perilaku dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Jenis data meliputi data hasil belajar, data keaktifan siswa. Tehnik pengumpulan data dengan cara observasi dan tes. Hasil analisis data pada siklus pertama diperoleh data keaktifan siswa mencapai kategori sedang (2,1); hasi belajar mencapai rerata 65,3; sedangkan jumlah siswa yang memenuhi KKM mencapai 9 siswa (34,6. Pada siklus kedua keaktifan siswa meningkat, meskipun baru mencapai kategori sedang (2,38); prestasi siswa lebih meningkat (68,9) dan jumlah siswa yang mencapai KKM ada 23 siswa (88,5%). Begitu pula pada siklus ketiga lebih bagus, keaktifan mencapai kategori baik (2,54); rata-rata hasil belajar 75,2 dan jumlah siswa yang mencapai KKM mencapai 26 siswa (100%). Dengan demikian penerapan metode sosiodrama dalam proses belajar mengajar PKn melalui tahapan yang dilakukan guru dengan cara menetukan situasi sosial yang akan disosiodramakan mampu meningkatkan keaktifan dan prestasi belajar siswa kelas 5 SDN Tlompakan 01 pada pembelajaran PKn menggunakan metode sosiodrama. This research aimed to describe how BIPA teachers implemented remote learning process, identify the problems encountered during COVID-19 pandemic, and explore how Indonesian cultural elements were introduced to students of primary and secondary schools. This research applied a case study design involving eight BIPA teachers in Victoria, Australia as participants. The data were collected through survey questionnaire, virtual interviews, and document analysis. The research data were analysed by making data categories regarding the implementation of remote learning, identification of its problems, and the introduction of Indonesian cultures to students. Interpretation of research findings was done by using relevant theoretical framework. The research findings indicated that the BIPA teachers implemented the remote learning through providing a learning model, listening to students’ individual reading practices, doing a discussion with the students, and implementing simple practices on the selected materials. One of the problems encountered was about students’ motivation. The elements of Indonesian cultures were introduced through identifying its types, describing the identified types of cultures, and writing short essays on the selected cultural topics.
This study discusses one method of phonetic correction for pronunciation learning improvement called Verbo-tonal method. Nowadays, this method of phonetic correction is the most widespread method. However, this method is not quite popular in Indonesia. The main objective of this study is to analyze fundamental problems that occur in the learning process and capture the causes of the problems. The study is conducted by descriptive literature review method. Therefore, this study aims to collect as much information as possible on the Verbo-tonal method. The findings show that the Verbo-tonal method has a good impact on pronunciation learning. Furthermore, this study is expected to provide insights for researchers, practitioners, and future researchers to strengthen knowledge in the field.
