RESUMOO SARS-CoV2 é um novo vírus respiratório que afeta os seres humanos e vem apresentando alta transmissibilidade, elevado números de casos e alta mortalidade representando um desafio à saúde pública. Diante disso, estratégias de enfretamento como o distanciamento social e adoção de atividades como telemonitoramento foram implementadas como alternativa para prevenir, promover saúde e proporcionar continuidade do processo de reabilitação. O objetivo do estudo é relatar a experiência de discentes de graduação em fisioterapia e fisioterapeutas com as atividades do telemonitoramento durante a pandemia pelo novo coronavírus para a manutenção do cuidado com os usuários do Sistema Único de Saúde (SUS). Trabalho descritivo, relato de experiência, ocorrida durante os meses de abril a setembro de 2020 através de telemonitoramento dos usuários do SUS atendidos anteriormente na clínica escola do Departamento de Fisioterapia da Universidade de Sergipe -Campus Lagarto (DFTL). As atividades foram desenvolvidas por fisioterapeutas e discentes do DFTL inicialmente, foi feito uma observação do cenário, teorização, planejamento de estratégias de ação e formas de execução. O contato com os usuários do SUS foi via telefone tanto através de ligações como por aplicativo de mensagem instantânea. A estratégia fortaleceu o vínculo entre comunidade e a universidade, difundiu conhecimento, estimulou a prática de exercícios físicos e contribuiu para formação humanizada e edificada dos discentes envolvidos. A adoção das práticas do telemonitoramento foram medidas rápidas e se mostraram eficazes por proporcionar aos usuários do SUS à continuidade dos serviços, diminuindo assim o risco de exposição ao vírus para esses usuários.

As sequelas da hanseníase interferem no bem-estar físico, na vida pessoal e socioeconômica. Devido a essa complexidade, fica difícil relatar objetivamente a abrangência do impacto da hanseníase, porém, o modelo de Classificação Internacional de Funcionalidade, Incapacidade e Saúde (CIF) surgiu para classificar as condições de doença e suas consequências biopsicossociais, facilitando o diagnóstico clínico funcional de uma maneira mais realística, além da esfera biomédica. O objetivo deste estudo foi mapear as incapacidades cinésio-funcionais de pessoas com hanseníase utilizando a CIF. Trata-se de um estudo transversal, com amostra composta por pessoas com hanseníase, recrutadas no Centro de Especialidades Médicas de Aracaju e Hospital Universitário. Para coleta de dados foram utilizadas avaliações padronizadas e validadas, representando cada domínio da CIF. A análise foi descritiva e as disfunções, que foram prevalentes em 5% dos participantes, foram selecionadas como relevantes. Participaram 29 voluntários, 44,9 (±13,72) anos, 60% sexo masculino. As incapacidades funcionais mais presentes foram: 1) Estrutura do corpo - “Estrutura das áreas da pele - s810” com 78%; 2) Função do corpo - “Função tátil - b265” e “Funções relacionadas a força muscular - b730” com 100% de presença; 3) Atividade - “Levantar e carregar objetos - d430” e “Andar - d450” apresentaram limitação em 100% dos participantes; 4) Participação “Recreação e Lazer - d920” foi observada em 89% dos participantes; 5) Impacto ambiental - “Serviços, sistemas e políticas de saúde - e580” em 56% dos participantes e nos fatores pessoais o estigma com 100% de presença. Este estudo determinou quais aspectos biopsicossociais são os mais relevantes em pessoas com hanseníase e os seus resultados podem ser usados como planejamento de prevenção e tratamento dessa doença.Palavras-chave: hanseníase, Classificação Internacional de Funcionalidade, Incapacidade e Saúde, avaliação da deficiência.

Huntington's disease (HD) is a progressive neurodegenerative disorder that leads to cognitive, behavioral and motor impairment. Physiotherapy can act not only in palliative care, but also in rehabilitation through functional tasks related to the daily needs, aiming to promote more function for the patient. This study aimed to report the experience of physical therapy focused on function in a patient with HD. To assess balance, the Berg Balance Scale (BSE) was used and to measure functionality, the Functional Independence Measure (FIM) was used. Improvement in the patient balance and functionality was observed comparing the before and after treatment. It is concluded that the physical therapy performance in HD has an important role in maintaining the functional aspects, thus improving the quality of life of these patients.

Objective: Explore the association of cognitive decline with handgrip strength and performance in clinical functional tests of Brazilian older adults living in the community. Methodology: Cross-sectional study community-dwelling, 101 community-dwelling older adults (45 men and 56 woman) aged 60 years or older with no mobility limitation. Cross-sectional study involving 101 individuals (45 men and 56 woman) aged 60 years or older with no mobility limitation. Cognition was assessed by the 10-point Cognitive Screener (10-CS). Grip strength was assessed using a manual dynamometer. Functional performance was assessed using gait speed (single and double task) and the Timed Up and Go (TUG) test (single and double task). Results: A significant positive association was found between cognition and handgrip strength, gait speed (single and double task), TUG (single and double task), maintaining the association even after adjustments for confounding variables. Conclusion: Decline in cognitive function is associated with low handgrip strength and worse performance in clinical tests of gait speed and TUG with a single and dual task. Prevention of cognitive decline is an important modifiable condition that must be addressed in clinical practice through cognitive-motor training to prevent functional loss and promote healthy aging.

The study aims to identify the social and obstetric factors associated with the mode of delivery of postpartum women attending a public maternity hospital located in the interior of the state of Sergipe, in the northeast region. This is a cross-sectional study that included 1,149 postpartum women in the immediate period, carried out between November 2016 and December 2019, who underwent functional kinesiological assessment for physical therapy care. Descriptive analysis and binary logistic regression were performed using the mode of delivery as the dependent variable. The results showed that the prevalence of cesarean deliveries was of 49.24% (n=565). Most puerperal women were young, married, primiparous and with elementary education. Vaginal delivery was associated with postpartum women with married marital status (OR, 10.463; 95%CI, 2.367-46.254), multipregnancy (OR, 9.54; 95% CI, 7.19-12.65), multiparous (OR, 8.79; 95%CI, 6.66-11.62), with no pain (OR, 2.08; 95%CI, 1.63-2.65), no comorbidities (OR,1.69, 95%CI, 1.23-2.28), number of prenatal consultations from one to seven (OR, 1.534; 95%CI, 1.18-1.98), and without difficulty to breastfeed (OR, 1.373, 95%CI, 1.04-1.80). The cesarean delivery route was associated with abortion in primiparae (OR, 1.69; 95%CI, 1.192-2.415) and education at the elementary level. (OR, 2.99; 95%CI, 1.403-6.411). It is concluded that social factors (education level and marital status), obstetric factors (parity, number of pregnancies, comorbidities, obstetric care) and immediate puerperal complaints (pain and difficulty in breastfeeding) were associated with the modes of delivery.

This study evaluated the effect of the volatile oil of Alpinia zerumbet (VOAz) on caveolin-1 gene expression and muscular fibrosis. The rats were immobilized to induce fibrosis of the gastrocnemius muscle, and they were treated with VOAz. Collagen quality was assessed by histology and the expression of the caveolin-1 (CAV-1) gene was evaluated using qPCR. Histomorphological analysis indicated a significant reduction in the perimeter, width, and intensity of collagen in the treated groups, thus showing that the oil was effective in regulating the quality of collagen at the three concentrations. The results of expression levels suggested a decrease in the lesioned group and in two treatment groups (0.0115 µg/g and 0.009 µg/g). However, with the lowest concentration (0.0065 µg/g), no significant difference was observed, with levels similar to those found in healthy tissue. Therefore, the results showed that VOAz has the potential to be a non-invasive and low-cost alternative to aid in the treatment of muscular fibrosis.
