Introdução: As doenças crônicas são grande problema de saúde pública na atualidade, entre elas o diabetes mellitus e suas complicações. Objetivo: conhecer os fatores associados que interferem na adesão ao tratamento de pessoas com diabetes mellitus na atenção primária de saúde. Métodos: Estudo qualitativo, realizado com 20 pessoas com diabetes mellitus cadastradas em Centros de Saúde de Florianópolis/Santa Catarina/Brasil. Os dados foram coletados por meio de entrevistas semiestruturadas, seguidas de análise de conteúdo convencional. Resultados: Fatores como hábitos saudáveis preexistentes, apoio da família, acesso aos medicamentos e preocupação com as complicações contribuem para a adesão ao tratamento. Por outro lado, a imposição da família, a falta de apoio que gera sentimentos de tristeza e solidão, o custo da alimentação saudável, dos medicamentos e de consultas a profissionais, e o fato de sentir-se imune às complicações, são fatores que dificultam ao tratamento. Conclusão: há diferentes fatores que interferem na adesão ao tratamento, sendo necessário investir em um processo de educação em saúde convergente às necessidades das pessoas, utilizando abordagens que favoreçam o diálogo e o envolvimento da família
Control and the care are continuous challenges in the treatment of chronic diseases, and it is necessary to know the users’ realities in order to seek intervention alternatives. The study aimed to identify the participants’ knowledge in a therapeutic group of the elderly regarding diabetes mellitus and systemic arterial hypertension. Descriptive and exploratory study with a qualitative approach, conducted with 12 elderly in the therapeutic group. Semi-structured interviews were used as data collection technique. Data were transcribed and analyzed using the content analysis technique. In the results the category about the participants’ knowledge on the diseases emerged, namely: etiological factors; main signs, symptoms and complications; drug therapy; use of herbal medicines; food control; lifestyle and regular follow-up at the health unit. It was concluded that the participants have knowledge about the diseases; however, they cultivate habits that can trigger complications. Knowledge from experience should not be neglected, but should be directed towards achieving the goal of the therapeutic group, helping to improve the understanding of the elderly about their disease (s) and stimulating self-care.Keywords: Therapeutics. ResumoO controle e o cuidado são desafios contínuos na terapêutica das doenças crônicas, sendo necessário conhecer as realidades dos usuários para buscar alternativas de intervenção. O estudo objetivou identificar o conhecimento dos participantes de um grupo terapêutico de idosos em relação ao diabetes mellitus e hipertensão arterial sistêmica. Estudo descritivo e exploratório, com abordagem qualitativa dos dados. A pesquisa foi realizada no munícipio de Itabuna na Bahia, na Unidade de Saúde da Família Simão Fitterman, no ano de 2014. Participaram do estudo 12 idosos do Sistema de Cadastramento e Acompanhamento de Hipertensos e Diabéticos (HIPERDIA), que participaram das reuniões do grupo terapêutico de idosos. A técnica utilizada para coleta de dados foi a entrevista com roteiro semiestruturado, realizadas nas reuniões do grupo terapêutico da unidade referida. O instrumento de coleta foi composto por dados sócio demográficos, conceitos e fatores desencadeantes das doenças estudadas, tratamento não farmacológico, complicações, prevenção e noções de autocuidado. Concluiu-se que os participantes possuem conhecimento sobre as doenças, entretanto cultivam hábitos que podem desencadear complicações. O conhecimento advindo da experiência, não deve ser negligenciado, mas direcionado ao alcance do objetivo do grupo terapêutico, contribuindo na melhoria do entendimento dos idosos sobre sua (s) doença (s), e estimulando o autocuidado.Palavras-chave: Terapêutica. Objetivo: compreender os saberes e as práticas dos profissionais de saúde na atenção primária em relação ao atendimento à pessoa com Diabetes Mellitus (DM) e suas complicações. Método: exploratório descritivo qualitativo, conduzido em cinco centros de saúde do município de Florianópolis, Santa Catarina. Realizada entrevista semiestruturada com 22 profissionais de saúde vinculados à Estratégia Saúde da Família e ao Núcleo de Apoio à Saúde da Família, entre dezembro de 2014 a maio de 2015. Os resultados foram analisados na perspectiva de análise de conteúdo convencional. Resultados: o saber dos profissionais configura-se no atendimento integral e humanizado, com foco na qualidade de vida. Suas práticas assistenciais se distanciam desses saberes quando a pessoa já apresenta a doença. Conclusões: apesar de os participantes manifestarem saberes convergentes com as políticas públicas, a prática clínica desenvolvida na assistência à pessoa com DM exige reflexão e estruturação, a fim de retardar ou evitar complicações.
Objetivo: Verificar as condições de saúde de idosos com diabetes mellitus cadastrados na atenção básica. Metodologia: Trata-se de um estudo quantitativo, descritivo realizado com 63 idosos que convivem com diabetes mellitus cadastrados em duas Unidades Básicas de Saúde em Vitória da Conquista - BA, realizado entre setembro de 2017 e março de 2018. Para a coleta dos dados foi utilizado questionário sociodemográfico e econômico e outro de condições de saúde, ambos elaborados pelos pesquisadores. As coletas ocorreram nas unidades básicas de saúde e nos domicílios dos idosos com horário agendado. A análise foi realizada com o auxílio do programa estatístico Statistical Package for the Social Sciences® 22.0. O projeto foi aprovado pelo Comitê de Ética em Pesquisa da Faculdade Independente do Nordeste com parecer nº 2.234.746. Resultados: A maioria dos idosos eram do sexo feminino (63,8%), com renda individual mensal de 1 salário mínimo (74,6%), de religião católica (52,4%), com diagnóstico da doença há mais de 5 anos (73%) e com histórico familiar de Diabetes Mellitus (61,9%). Em relação aos hábitos de vida, a maioria nunca fumou (60,3%), consome bebida alcoólica (81%) ou não pratica atividade física (73%). Quanto aos hábitos alimentares, 98,4% recebe orientações, 47,6% segue essas orientações, 88,9% não consomem sal ou açúcar 85,7% em excesso e consideram a sua saúde como boa 79,3%. Já as complicações relacionadas a Diabetes Mellitus mais encontradas foram visuais representando 53,9%, e a hipertensão sendo a comorbidade mais associada (80,9%). Conclusão: Os agravos a saúde dos idosos participantes do estudo podem estar relacionados a falta de adesão a uma alimentação adequada, a falta da prática de atividade física regular e a fatores econômicos que podem influenciar em uma melhor qualidade de vida desses indivíduos. Além disso, foi possível observar que a associação entre a diabetes mellitus, hipertensão arterial e alcoolismo são fatores que podem gerar diversas complicações à saúde do idoso, podendo causar infarto agudo do miocárdio, acidente vascular cerebral, o que pode trazer sequelas irreversíveis ou até mesmo levar o indivíduo ao óbito.
Objectives: to check the perception of elderly people living with chronic diseases regarding the interdisciplinary health practices focused on self-care.Methodology: It is an analytical study with a qualitative approach, carried out in the period from October 2018 to June 2019,with 22 elderly people as participants from an interaction group. Eight fortnightly meetings were carried out with preventive activities and workshops focused on self-care.For the data collection, there were used as instruments a biosocial questionnaire and a semistructured interview designed by the researchers.Data analysis was carried out based on the methodological theoretical assumptions of the Collective Subject Discourse-CSD. Results: The majority of the participants were female (96.2%), with a prevalent age group of 71-75 years (32.7%), white people (42.1%), widows (52.6 %) and of catholic religion (76.3%), with incomplete elementary education training (39.5%), monthly income between 1 and 2 minimum wages (55.3%), living alone (42.1%) and that have children (94.7%). Concerning the clinical aspects, most of them have more than one chronic disease (84.6%) and lives primarily with systemic arterial hypertension (63.5%), diabetes mellitus (32.7%), dyslipidemias (23.0%). When analyzing the Collective Subject Discourse in relation to self-care impact, four central ideal arose: eating habits; conscious use of teas; prevention of falls; mental health and memory.Conclusion:the elderly people reported that the participation in programs with the focus on health was essential to increase knowledge, make clarifications, guide, and modify the life habits that were mistaken. That is to say, it helped to improve self-care which directly affected health and quality of life.
