The purpose of this study was to reflect theoretically on the theme of health education and how it interfaces with health promotion. It consists of a theoretical-reflexive study aimed at comparing these practices to the concepts elaborated in the Letter of Ottawa, the pedagogy of liberation of Paulo Freire, empowerment and culture, here comprehended as key elements guiding the activity of the nurse in health education in actions performed by health services. In order to take this reflexive path, the authors analyzed the interrelationships of these theoretical interfaces and their approaches to health promotion practices. From this presented theoretical framework, it is possible to reflect on the possibilities of extending care, based on the premise that all moments comprising interaction with patients of health services must be considered an opportunity to develop health education actions, considering the knowledge of nurses characterized as social actors who are responsible for the events that take place in the health scenario.
Objective: to investigate the association between resilience and sociodemographic variables and the health of people with chronic kidney disease and / or type 2 diabetes mellitus. Method: a cross-sectional observational study performed with 603 people with chronic kidney disease and / or type 2 diabetes mellitus. A tool to collect socio-demographic and health data and the Resilience Scale developed by Connor and Davidson were applied. A descriptive and multivariate analysis was performed. Results: the study participants had on average 61 years old (SD= 13.2), with a stable union (52.24%), religion (96.7%), retired (49.09%), with primary education (65%) and income up to three minimum wages. Participants with kidney disease showed less resilience than people with diabetes. Conclusion: the type of chronic illness, disease duration, body mass index and religious beliefs influenced the resilience of the study participants.
Objective: to reflect on the diligence of three studies that followed the convention of Convergent Care Research (Pesquisa Convergente Assistencial -PCA) as a methodological reference. Results: convergent Care Research is characterized by conducting improvements through introducing innovations in the context of nursing and health care practice. It is guided by its own attributes: immersibility; simultaneity; expandability and dialoging. Three studies using the Convergent Care Research method were analyzed: Study A consisted of constructing an informative material (booklet) as a technology to be developed based on the participants' knowledge and experiences regarding the computed Tomograpy scan; Study B proposed to develop educational practices with a group of female garbage/recyclable material collectors to alleviate their workload and thus prevent occupational accidents; Study C developed an education proposal for training nurses who work in palliative care by constructing an instrument regarding pain assessment in cancer patients. Conclusion: all three studies showed that the Convergent Care Research method allows for the convergence between care actions and research actions in order to create superposition spaces of these two activities, with the production of new knowledge and changes in care practice. This method allows both research and care practice to be developed in the same physical and temporal space, and therefore they need to be disarticulated by conducting a specific analysis for each one.
Além disso, discute sua importância na convergência dos meios acadêmico e prático, que auxiliam em uma prática segura, sistematizam o cuidado e estabelecem ligação entre o pragmatismo e o cientificismo, levando os enfermeiros a adotarem posturas de construção de conhecimento mais sólidas. descritores: Enfermagem; Cuidado; Metodologia. aBStRaCtThe present text is a theoretical reflection upon the importance of Nursing care models for the consolidation of this discipline, concerning the contribution of Convergent Care Research (Pesquisa Convergente Assistencial -PCA) in elaborating such models. Beyond this, this article discusses the importance of Convergent Care Research in the convergence of the academic and practical worlds of nursing, which aid towards a safe practice, systematize care, and establish connections between pragmatism and scientism, leading nurses to adopt more solid knowledge construction postures. Key words: Nursing; Care; Methodology.
