Neste trabalho são apresentadas análises quantitativas e de alguns aspectos qualitativos sobre a participação feminina nos cursos de Computação do Instituto de Computação da Universidade Federal do Amazonas (IComp/UFAM) na graduação e pós-graduação. Foram observados aspectos relacionados ao ingresso, permanência e formação de tais alunas, em comparação com o grupo total de estudantes universitários. Além disto, para as ingressantes de 2017, foram realizadas análises do perfil, formação prévia e preferências de cada uma, para melhor entender o porquê de terem escolhido cursar Computação no ensino superior, o que esperam do curso e quais as expectativas para suas carreiras profissionais.
Mulheres representam apenas 30% da força de trabalho emáreas tecnológicas no cenário mundial, o que se torna um desafio e uma oportunidade para ações de aumento da representatividade feminina. Este trabalho apresenta os resultados de uma pesquisa feita com alunas do Ensino Médio durante um evento de divulgação de carreiras para jovens estudantes secundaristas no ano de 2016. As alunas voluntariamente responderam o que as levaria ou não paraárea tecnológica. Resultados mostram que embora as disciplinas daárea de exatas façam parte da preferência de muitas alunas durante o ensino médio, asáreas de Humanas e Biológicas acabam atraindo mais candidatas. O principal motivo segundo elas é a falta de habilidades matemáticas e de vocação.
User stories refletem necessidades de um usuário e o MVP (Minimum Viable Product) tem por objetivo validar um produto junto aos seus usuários. Com o propósito de avaliar se user stories auxiliam na definição do MVP, este artigo apresenta os resultados de um estudo experimental que mostram a aceitação positiva da user story para especificar requisitos, definir o MVP e construir mockups, em virtude da sua facilidade de uso e simplicidade. Os resultados mostram que os defeitos encontrados após a inspeção dos mockups não foram gerados a partir de defeitos inseridos na especificação da user story, mas devido ao fato de os participantes não seguirem a especificação para a construção dos mockups.
