The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship of understanding Indonesian history, interest in learning history and national insight with the nationalism attitude among State Senior High School students in Ngaglik subdistrict, Yogyakarta. The data collection used tests and questionnaires distributed to 126 students who were the respondents, the data were analyzed quantitavely using SPSS version 21. The validity test of the instrument employed biserial point correlation and reliability test using the Kuder–Richardson Formula 20 (KR 20) formula. Analysis prerequisite tests include normality test, linearity test, and multicollinearity test. The hypotheses were tested using Pearson’s product moment correlation and multiple correlation The results of the data analysis shows: (a) there is a positive and significant relationship between understanding Indonesian history with nationalism attitude; (b) there is a positive and significant relationship between interest in learning history and nationalism attitude; (c) there is a positive and significant relationship between national insight and nationalism; and (d) there is a simultaneously positive and significant relationship between understanding of Indonesian history, interest in learning history, and national insight with nationalism attitude.
Abstrak Suatu negara dengan keadaan masyarakat yang beragam akan sangat rentan untuk terjadinya sebuah konflik. Indonesia adalah suatu negara yang memiliki keadaan tersebut dihadapkan pada masalah yang tidak ringan. Dibutuhkan keterampilan mengatur keberagaman tersebut agar semua komponen masyarakat dapat hidup dengan aman, nyaman, tenteram, dan damai bagi kelangsungan kehidupan bermasyarakat, berbangsa, dan bernegara. Namun, bangsa Indonesia tercinta ini masih diselimuti oleh berbagai konflik yang muncul dalam masyarakat. Masyarakat perlu dibekali oleh berbagai pengetahuan tentang keadaan bangsanya sejak dini. Pendidikan merupakan perantara yang tepat untuk menumbuhkan bermacam sikap yang mendukung tercapainya perdamaian.
This study aims to determine the relationship of understanding Indonesian history with the nationalism attitude of students of State Senior High Schools in Ngaglik District, Yogyakarta. This research is a type of correlational research that uses a quantitative approach. The research sample were 126 students, data collection using tests and questionnaires. Tests are used to reveal data about understanding Indonesian history, while questionnaires are used to reveal nationalism. The validity test of the instrument uses biserial point correlation and reliability test using the KR 20 formula. The data analysis technique uses quantitative descriptive analysis. Analysis prerequisite test includes normality test and linearity test. The hypothesis test uses Pearson product moment correlation. The results showed that there was a positive and significant correlation between the understanding of Indonesian history and the nationalism attitude of the students of State Senior High Schools in Ngaglik District, Yogyakarta. It shows that the rcalculation is 0.447> rtable 0.176 with a significance level of 0.000 <0.05. Thus, the higher the understanding of Indonesian history, the higher the nationalism of students.
Berbicara tentang nasionalisme tidak akan pernah ketinggalan zaman. Nasionalisme bukanlah suatu rasa dalam diri seseorang yang melekat sejak lahir, tetapi perwujudan dari respons manusia terhadap masalah-masalah yang dihadapinya. Di era globalisasi ini nasionalisme bangsa Indonesia sepertinya sedang mengalami pernurunan. Indikatornya dapat dilihat dengan semakin banyaknya aksi-aksi yang menunjukkan euforia kelompok, keagamaan, maupun yang sifanya kedaerahan. Lembaga pendidikan seperti sekolah adalah salah satu wahana yang dapat mengemban penanaman dan pelestarian nasionalisme. Mata pelajaran -mata pelajaran yang ada merupakan media yang tepat untuk menanamkan rasa nasionalisme pada generasi muda Indonesia. IPS sebagai satu mata pelajaran di sekolah, sangat relevan sebagai alat menumbuhkan nasionalisme, mengingat tujuan IPS adalah membentuk siswa menjadi warga negara yang baik. Melalui kegiatan-kegiatan pembelajaran yang beragam dalam IPS, guru dapat menanamkan nasionalisme pada diri siswa. Kata Kunci: nasionalisme, pembelajaran IPS
The purpose of this study is to find the values of character education by using material of the Struggle of K.H Gholib in defending Indonesian Independence at the Lampung Residency. The method used is descriptive qualitative research method with library research. The results of this study are briefly elaborated on the biography and struggle of K.H Gholib as a local figure who fought to defend Indonesia's independence at the Lampung Residency. Then the values of character education contained in the material include: religious attitudes, hard work, curiosity, love for the country, nationalism and communicative. These character values can be actualized by students in learning local history in high school. The hope is that students can emulate the figure of a figure from K.H Gholib, especially for those who live in the area of Lampung and apply it to their lives both now and in the future.
