Stroke is one of the health problems that cause movement disorders in sufferers due to decreased loss or decreased muscle function. Range of motion exercise is thought to improve movement function in stroke patients. Aim: The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of a range of motion (ROM) on muscle strength in stroke patients. Thus, the authors discussed the literature review on the effectiveness of a range of motion (ROM) on muscle strength in stroke patients. Method: A systematic search was conducted in the following three databases: PUBMED, PLOS ONE, EBSCO, and GOOGLE SCHOLAR using the keywords “Stroke” AND “Range Of Motion” AND “Muscle Strength.”. Result: There are 417 articles in the Pubmed, Plos One, Ebsco, and Google Scholar databases, but only eight articles meet all criteria, including search and review. The results of statistical tests in eight literature show that most of the effects of a range of motion exercises on increasing muscle strength in stroke patients are carried out 1-2 times a day, and the duration of each extremity is 15-20 minutes per session, performed two times a day for six days. Discussion: Performing ROM exercises for stroke patients must be adjusted to the recommendations for both the type and time of implementation. It aims to maintain or increase muscle mass and muscle tone of patients with stroke who have decreased muscle strength. Conclusion: Range of motion exercise affects increasing muscle strength in patients with stroke.
Cardiac resuscitation in the era of the COVID-19 pandemic meets its challenges; in addition to the high prevalence of cardiac and pulmonary arrest events in these patients, the transmission rate to health workers who carry out CPR assistance is also relatively high. Therefore, it is necessary to develop CPR techniques in COVID-19 patients that can increase the success of CPR and reduce transmission rates. The purpose of the study was to explain how CPR techniques are in COVID-19 patients. The literature review method through data collection with an electronic database and evaluation of the literature review will use Critical Appraisal to test validity. Data collection with electronic databases was conducted through PubMed, Tailor, Francis, and Google Scholar with the keyword "CPR," "COVID-19," and " technique. "The data was successfully collected in the database of 548 articles then filtered the inclusion and exclusion criteria into ten pieces; then the article passed the Critical Appraisal test. Hasil Literature review CPR technique in covid patients added is the use of PPE level C/3; The recommended compression depth is 2-2.4 inches (5-6cm); manual chest compression is described as effective when administered in the middle of the chest, at a rate of 100-120 minutes. , The recommended position is prone and supine.
The Covid-19 pandemic has had an impact on society in the fields of policy, religion, social, culture, economy, technology and education. This activity aimed to increase the knowledge, attitude and behavior of the community regarding the COVID-19 pandemic through education information technology-based online system. This study was a quasi-experiment with one group pre-test and post-test design. The activity was carried out four months on three groups, namely children, adolescents, and adults. The planned program was about the dangers of Covid-19, increasing reading literacy and knowledge through posters, memes, and videos about Covid-19, overcoming and preventing Covid-19, providing entrepreneurial skills during the Covid-19 pandemic. The implementation method followed a number of steps: identifying potential and analyzing problems in the community, namely by conducting FGDs with related parties, program design, library research to reference material used during service, making program materials and implementing them through online and offline media by visiting the community. The findings showed that that there was an increase in the level of community knowledge, attitude, and behavior regarding the COVID-19 pandemics. This study found that the community should be approached in different ways based on their developmental stage relating to their ability to receive information.
Asthma is characterized by narrowing and inflammation of the bronchi, with symptoms of dyspnea, fatigue, and limited activity. This study aims to explain the effect of respiratory inspiratory muscle training on changes in respiratory function based on the results of previous studies. This study was compiled based on a literature review that came from the databases: PubMed, springer link, and google scholar which were selected based on the inclusion criteria that have been set. From 272 articles found, only 6 articles deserve to be reviewed. The results of the review stated that respiratory inspiratory muscle exercise had an effect on changes in respiratory function in asthmatic patients with a very significant significance value. Changes provided by inspiratory muscle training are related to respiratory muscle strengthening which reduces respiratory stimulus and ventilation requirements for a given workload, contributing to more efficient breathing patterns and decreased perception of dyspnea. Inspiratory respiratory muscle exercise, either done alone or in combination with other respiratory rehabilitation programs, can increase the strength of the respiratory muscles so as to have an improved impact on the respiratory function of children with asthma from children to adults.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
