Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is a chronic hyperglycemic condition which may affect all aspects of life of the sufferer, and it can be life threatening. This problem can be minimized by doing self-care. Self-care has an influence on glycemic control, prevention of complications due to uncontrolled blood glucose and improving the quality of life for people with diabetes mellitus. This study aimed to determine the effect of self-care on fasting blood glucose of type 2 diabetics. This type of research was observational with cross-sectional design. The inclusion criteria for the study were patients with a diagnosis of diabetes mellitus aged > 18-year-old, treatment at a health center >8 weeks, had records of the last blood glucose fasting ≤1 month before the interview, while the exclusion criteria were patients who refused to participate and patients who could not communicate. Self-care measurement uses the Diabetes Self-Care Management Question (DSMQ) instrument. The number of respondents from this study was 115 people where 79,1% of respondents had a good level of self-care and 47% of respondents with fasting glucose levels that had not been achieved. The data were analyzed using Chi-square test. From this study, it was found that self-care had an effect on fasting blood glucose (OR=3,349, P<0,05). The lowest value of self-care in this study is the domain of physical activity and health-care, therefore patient motivation needs to be improved by exercise and routine check-up because self-care is one of the important factors that could control blood glucose levels.
Indonesia is one of the highest confirmed countries in ASEAN and South Kalimantan is still in the 13th order category in Covid-19 cases. One of the measures to prevent its spread is to increase the immune system by consuming health supplements or herbal medicines. Knowledge influences in shaping one's behavior. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between knowledge and behavior in the use of supplements and herbal medicines in preventing the spread of Covid-19 in South Banjarbaru. This research is descriptive analytic with a cross sectional design, data collection by proportional random sampling technique with an instrument in the form of google form with a sample of 398 respondents. The data analysis used is univariate and bivariate using chi square. The conclusion shows that the level of public knowledge about supplements and herbal medicines in the South Banjarbaru sub-district is mostly knowledgeable enough by 43.5% with the majority of the behavior of using supplements and herbal medicines being inappropriate at 68.3%. The results of the chi square statistical test showed that there was a relationship between knowledge and behavior in the use of supplements and herbal medicines with a value of 0.000 (sig. <0.05).
Distribusi, penyimpanan dan penggunaan obat merupakan faktor penting dalam pengelolaan obat. Dampak yang terjadi akibat distribusi tidak berjalan dengan baik mengakibatkan terjadinya kekosongan obat yang mempengaruhi pada pelayanan terhadap pasien. Dampak yang terjadi jikaproses penyimpanan tidak berjalan dengan baik seperti kesalahan dalam pengambilan obat yang berbahaya bagi pasien serta terdapat barang ataupun stok yang melewati masa kedaluwarsa. Dalampenggunaan obat, masalah yang muncul adalah penggunaan obat tidak rasional dapat memberikan dampak negatif baik secara medis, ekonomis, maupun sosial, dan belum adanya evaluasipengelolaan obat pada tahap tersebut. Sehingga tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu mengevaluasisistem pengelolaan obat pada tahap distribusi, penyimpanan, dan penggunaan obat di Rumah SakitMutiara Bunda dibandingkan dengan nilai indikator standar. Rancangan penelitian bersifatdeskriptif dan evaluatif dengan metode observasi menggunakan data retrospektif dan concurrent.Data dianalisis dengan indikator pengelolaan obat yang telah ditetetapkan didukung dengan hasil wawancara petugas. Hasil penelitian yang tidak sesuai standar pada tahap distribusi; indikator kecocokan antar jumlah fisik obat dengan kartu stock (94,8%); tahap penyimpanan, presentase stok mati (9,30%); dan tahap penggunaan, jumlah item obat perlembar resep (2,44).
DAGUSIBU medicine is a health education program created by The Indonesian Pharmacists Association (Asosiasi Apoteker Indonesia, IAI) in an effort to realize Gerakan Keluarga Sadar Obat (GKSO). DAGUSIBU medicine stands for DApatkan, GUnakan, SImpan, BUang obat. The purpose of this study was to determine the demographic characteristics and the relationship of demographic characteristics to the level of public knowledge about DAGUSIBU fever medicine. The design of this research is observational analytic using approach cross-sectional. The sample is 138 people with purposive sampling. The instrument used is a questionnaire, analyzed by univariate and bivariate analysis using test Chi-Square. The results showed that the majority of respondents were in adulthood (33.3%), female (59.4%), basic education background (64.5%), working status (75.4%), never received information (78.3%) and the level of knowledge in the less category (47.8%). The results of statistical tests showed p-value= 0.003, gender (0.0001), education level (0.0002), occupation (0.001) and had/never received information (0.0001). The conclusion in this study was that the majority of the respondents were of adult age, female, with basic education background, never received information and the level of knowledge was less category and there was a significant relationship between demographic characteristics and the level of public knowledge.
