Abstract-Online learning is currently garnering increasing interest. Through the Internet, all available data can be shared to anyone without limited accessibility. ePortfolio is one of the media for students and lecturers to share their knowledge online. Students can upload and share their works, and lecturers can access the works of students anytime and anywhere as long as they remain connected to each other. This learning process gives students the freedom to show their ability and skills without meeting face to face. In literature, ePortfolio has contributed numerous advantages to students and lecturers in terms of the competency, marketability, self-confidence, and visibility of the students. This paper analyzes the development of ePortfolio contents to ensure the reliability of the instrument used. Furthermore, the challenges to implement ePortfolio in the learning system in Malaysia are determined. A total of 100 respondents, who are educators and students from public higher education institutions in Malaysia, participated in the Google survey form to share their perspective on the development of ePortfolio and the challenges of its implementation in the learning system. The majority of the respondents gave positive feedback on the development of ePortfolio as one of the holistic approaches to evaluate a student's knowledge and skills.
One of the most significant issues related to urban public design is considering outdoor spaces for children to play. Children need to see their environment as a part of their life and learn to protect it. Furthermore, they develop social, emotional, and physical skills by playing outdoors. In some developing countries such as Iran, limited knowledge exists about the state of outdoor play areas for children in cities. This study highlights the need for planners and other land managers to consider the critical importance of the urban environment for play activities of children and its current status in Iran. Literature, studies, opinions and ideas on the value of play and outdoors for children in cities and the limitations of their outdoor play is explored; the issues and points obtained from the literature are analyzed. And the need for further research with children and rethinking for the allocation and design of children's open space in Tehran is highlighted. Consequently, the criteria to consider children's play spaces in city of Tehran are proposed. Accessibility, local government involvement, knowledge sharing, appropriate playground design and accounting on children's voice and view in design process are some criteria which are recommended to promote children's open space and outdoor play area in Tehran.
Research from different parts of the world recognizes the effectiveness of a learning contract course in improving the personal skills of students. Therefore, UKM has chosen this approach to improve the personal soft skills of its students. The university has carried out this approach by making HHHC9118-Soft Skills as a compulsory course for all students. This course requires the students to implement a project or activity in accordance with a written contract that they plan together with their instructors. Moreover, the students are awarded with eight credit hours after taking up this course. This research evaluated the effectiveness of the learning contract course in developing the soft skills of the 2,378 participants, who had already finished the course. A literature review and a survey were conducted to obtain the data. The questionnaire contained 10 statements, which were either positive or negative, that asked about the self-esteem levels of the respondents. Data were analyzed using the Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) software. The results showed the respondents positively interpreted all the statements in the questionnaire, which proved that a learning contract successfully improved the soft skills and self-esteem of UKM students. Therefore, this approach effectively improved the soft skills of the students.
