Los contenidos digitales para niños y jóvenes son un sector que crece de manera continua, por lo que reconocer la calidad de los mismos es una tarea compleja, ya que las tiendas de aplicaciones no siempre proporcionan información clara y completa. En este contexto nacen las plataformas de recomendación de aplicaciones, sitios web dedicados a seleccionar, evaluar y reseñar los productos que día a día aparecen. Como no todos ofrecen información de la misma calidad resulta necesario estudiarlos y compararlos. Partiendo de estas consideraciones en el trabajo se evalúan veinticinco recomendadores, en base a veintisiete indicadores agrupados según se refieran a la estructura del sitio web, la información que aportan sobre el contenido y la visibilidad que consiguen en las redes sociales. La evaluación realizada muestra cuáles son los mejores recomendadores según los indicadores establecidos en el artículo.
El artículo plantea la importancia y necesidad de las plataformas de recomendación de aplicaciones y otros materiales de lectura digitales de ficción y no ficción dirigidas a niños y jóvenes. Primero se justifica el papel de los recomendadores como herramientas facilitadoras de la labor de padres, docentes, bibliotecarios y otros agentes promotores de la lectura digital. Se analiza después la caracterización de las plataformas existentes a partir de la evaluación de las consideradas más significativas. Finalmente se ponderan los aspectos fundamentales que deben abordar los recomendadores, e igualmente se hace un repaso a los parámetros y criterios de evaluación para determinar la calidad de las aplicaciones para niños y jóvenes.
Se aborda un análisis comparativo de la estructura interna de los diarios de noticas entre los paradigmas impreso y digital a través de un análisis de caso. La investigación, de carácter cualitativo basada en la observación directa del fenómeno y el análisis documental, se desarrolla cotejando la versión impresa y el portal web del periódico español El Mundo. Se constatan diferencias significativas entre ambos a nivel de la estructuración y presentación de los contenidos; igualmente se confirma la consolidación de un proceso decidido de convergencia a nivel textual que revela la existencia de unidades de edición y redacción comunes para ambos medios.
