O objetivo deste trabalho é relatar a experiência com formação docente para o uso de jogos digitais, gamificação e cultura maker no processo de ensino e aprendizagem de línguas com o intuito de sanar alguns problemas que as escolas apresentam, como a motivação dos alunos para aprendizagem. São ferramentas que contribuem muito com a ludicidade, a interatividade e a explicitação de valores. Essa proposta de formação vai ao encontro do que afirmam Lima Lopes et al. (2021): raras são as discussões sobre o papel dos processos de comunicação tecnologicamente mediados. Isso acarreta foco somente em questões estruturais da linguagem ou em produções discentes que não necessariamente observam o papel social da língua. Nosso referencial teórico é composto de estudos de Benvindo (2019), Zichermann (2011) e Borges (2013), com experiências sobre uso de tecnologias e gamificação e a metodologia ativa no uso da sala de aula invertida; Vygotsky (1999), sobre a importância de um espaço colaborativo para a aprendizagem; e Rojo (2012), nos estudos dos letramentos. Seguimos também os pressupostos de Gee (2003, 2004, 2005 e 2014), sobre gamificação e design de games, e de Leffa (2012, 2020), sobre o uso de jogos digitais no ensino de línguas. Analisamos algumas ferramentas, como criadores de caça-palavras, palavras-cruzadas, jogos da forca, tirinhas, e expusemos seus aspectos técnicos e mecanismos, como layout, interatividade, diversão e jogabilidade, associando-os às habilidades de linguagens na BNCC (BRASIL, 2017). Além do necessário levantamento bibliográfico sobre os conceitos e testagem das ferramentas computacionais utilizadas, trata-se de uma pesquisa qualiquantitativa, com aplicação de questionário e análise das respostas entre professores da Educação Básica. Os beneficiados pelos resultados da pesquisa serão os estudantes e os professores que, ao explorarem a cultura maker para a construção do conhecimento, terão ao seu dispor recursos e ferramentas auxiliares para o processo. Esperamos que esta pesquisa abra caminhos para práticas pedagógicas e proporcione outros estudos mais avançados que reflitam sobre possibilidades de uso de jogos digitais para o aprendizado da língua (no nosso caso, tratamos da materna, mas pensamos também em outras modalidades) e que essa reflexão repercuta na produção de materiais e recursos didáticos.
