The experimental design consisted in randomized blocks in split plot, with five repetitions. Two seasons were evaluated, the first in April and the second in July 2015. The treatments consisted of three coffee cultivation systems and two control areas: 1) Coffee intercropped with trees species and Urochloa cv. decumbens; 2) Coffee intercropped with Urochloa cv. decumbens; 3) Coffee in monoculture; 4) ground fallow and 5) native vegetation fragment. The soil microbial biomass and activity were assessed in soil samples collected at 0.0-0.10 m depth. The following variables were evaluated: microbial biomass carbon, basal respiration, metabolic quotient, microbial quotient and soil organic carbon. Litter accumulation (t ha -1 ) and soil moisture (kg kg -1 ) were also evaluated. The systems fragment of native vegetation, Coffee in consortium with tree species and U. cv. decumbens and Coffee intercropped with U. cv. decumbens favour soil microbial biomass and activity, regardless the sampling time.
Effects of saflufenacil in Merremia aegyptia (Convolvulaceae), Luffa aegyptiaca (Cucurbitaceae) and Mucuna aterrima (Fabaceae -Leguminosae) were analyzed by scanning electron microscopy one day before and after application. Stomatal density, stomatal index and length of the stomatal aperture were determined by imprinting the leaf epidermis. These species showed stomata on the adaxial and abaxial epidermis. M. aegyptia showed paracytic stomata, unicellular tector trichomes on the abaxial surfaces, especially around leaf veins, and absence of epicuticular wax crystals. L. aegyptiaca was characterized by having anomocytic stomata, glandular trichomes and multicellular trichomes on both sides of the leaf, and did not have epicuticular wax crystals. M. aterrima showed anisocitic stomata, glandular and unicellular trichomes on both sides as well as a large amount of epicuticular wax crystals. The herbicide saflufenacil promoted dispersion of waxes, epidermal surface roughness and depletion of trichomes on L. aegyptiaca and M. aterrima plants. There were significant differences in the stomatal index, density and length of stomatal aperture among the studied species.
The herbicides diuron + hexazinone (1170 + 330 g a.i ha -1 ) and clomazone + ametryne (1500 + 1000 g a.i ha -1 ) were applied in field in areas cultivated by sugarcane (manual crop). In intervals of 7 days after the application, up to 42 days, soil samples were collected for the microbiologic analysis. It was verified that diuron+hexazinone and clomazone + ametrina had different effect on fungi and bacteria community. In the persistence studies the treatments constituted of applications in the field of diuron + hexazinone (1170 + 330 g a.i ha -1 ), clomazone + ametryne (1500 + 1000 g a.i ha -1 ) on the ground without straw cover, on the 10 t ha -1 of sugarcane straw and on the ground and covered with 10 t ha -1 of sugarcane straw. The methodology used in the determination of the persistence was with bioassay, using cucumber (Cucumis sativus) and millet (Pennisetum glaucum) as bioindicators. At 60 DAT, none of the herbicides, independent of the handling of the sugarcane straw was effective in the control of the bioindicators.
