Background:The effects of tylophorine, a natural alkaloid found in Tylophora indica, administered as a single compound or in combination with doxorubicin on cell cycling and apoptosis were assessed in T47D breast cancer cells, selected as a model system for breast cancer. Methods:Cell cycle distribution and apoptosis were examined by flow cytometry. Caspase 3 and 9 expression was determined by immunocytochemistry.Result:We found that tylophorine did not significantly influence the cell cycle distribution of T47D cells. However, the alkaloid did prevent accumulation of cells in the G2/M phase. In addition, tylophorine increased the number of apoptotic cells. Expression of proapoptotic proteins (caspases 3 and 9) was up-regulated upon administration of tyloporine alone or in combination with doxorubicin. Conclusions:Tylophorine alone or in combination with doxorubicin induced apoptosis in T47D breast cancer cells through modulation of the cell cycle and affecting the expression of caspases 3 and 9.
Advances in technology make it easy for humans to communicate with each other. One of them is by sending messages. However, the confidentiality of messages can be hacked by third parties. Therefore, it is necessary to secure the messages sent so that confidentiality can be maintained. One way that can be done to maintain message security is cryptography. Classical cryptography has several types of algorithms including caesar cipher and affine cipher. The purpose of this study is to combine caesar cipher and affine cipher as one technique that can be used to secure messages. This combination is done by changing the plaintext into ciphertext 1 through caesar encryption. Ciphertext 1 is encrypted by affine caesar to produce ciphertext 2. Ciphertext 2 is the message to be sent. Then to change to original message ciphertext 2 is decrypted by affine chiper so that it gets plaintext 1. Then plaintext 1 is decrypted by caesar chiper so that it gets plaintext 2. Plaintext 2 is the message that should be received. The result of this study are a combination of caesar cipher and affine cipher can secure a message sent.
Bank Negara Indonesia, Tbk Kantor Cabang Utama Batam.
Introduction: Hypertension is a non-communicable disease that is an important public health problem in the world because its prevalence continues to increase and is the third biggest risk of premature death. Lifestyle is the most important risk factor that can cause hypertension, including physical activity, diet, smoking behavior, rest patterns. The purpose of the study was to determine the effect of lifestyle on the incidence of hypertension in the elderly during the Covid-19 pandemic era. Materials and Methods: The research design uses a quantitative case-control design approach. A sample of 88 respondents consisted of 48 cases and 40 controls. Sampling method using accidental sampling technique, the instrument used is a questionnaire, data collection method using interviews, data analysis using chi-square test and multivariate logistic regression. Result: The results showed that there was a significant effect between physical activity (p-value 0.047), diet (p-value 0.012), smoking behavior with the incidence of hypertension (p-value 0.001), and there was no effect of rest patterns with the incidence of hypertension (p-value 0.001). p-value 0.334). Multivariate analysis found that smoking was the most influential factor with the incidence of hypertension (OR=6,647), meaning that respondents who had smoking behavior had a 7 times greater risk of suffering from hypertension than respondents who did not smoke. Conclusion: There is a significant influence between physical activity, diet, and smoking behavior with the incidence of hypertension and there is no effect of rest patterns with the incidence of hypertension. Smoking behavior is the most influential factor in the incidence of hypertension.
Abstract The purpose of this research is to see the effectiveness of project-based blended learning. The research method used is qualitative. The approach used is a case study. The data in this study are the results of interviews with teachers. The source of this research data is the teacher. In testing the validity of the researchers using the validity of the data. The results showed that 50% of blended learning was effective when offline because it was able to improve critical thinking skills and profiles of Pancasila students. However, 50% is not effective when used online because of the unavailability of online equipment, after that it is difficult to supervise students which causes students to be dishonest. Further research is needed to strengthen this research by examining using statistical data on the effectiveness of learning using blended learning. Keywords: blended learning, effectiveness, Pancasila student profile, critical thinking, project
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
