Esta pesquisa trata da construção e estudo fatorial de um instrumento para avaliar o autoconceito para crianças e jovens nos contextos social, escolar, familiar e pessoal. Foram analisadas as respostas de 555 estudantes, com idades entre 8-16 anos. Deles, 281 (50,6%) eram do gênero masculino e 274 (49,4%) do gênero feminino, freqüentando de segunda a oitava séries do ensino fundamental. Os itens foram eliminados com base na saturação fatorial e na consistência interna e selecionados 20 itens, distribuídos nos quatro fatores pretendidos, explicando 41,09% da variância. Os coeficientes de consistência interna de Cronbach variaram de 0,59 a 0,62 para os fatores e para a pontuação total foi de 0,78. Assim, foram identificados itens que caracterizam os quatro contextos. Esses dados corroboram a perspectiva da multidimensionalidade do self defendida primeiramente por Mead e James.Palavras-chave: análise fatorial; crianças; jovens.
O objetivo deste estudo foi investigar as relações entre desempenho escolar de alunos do ensino fundamental e suas orientações motivacionais. Participaram 150 estudantes, entre 9 e 12 anos de idade, de uma escola pública do Estado de São Paulo, que cursavam a 3ª e 4ª séries do ensino fundamental. Os resultados revelaram que na terceira série houve uma correlação significativa e negativa entre motivação extrínseca e desempenho escolar, ou seja, quanto menor o desempenho escolar maior a motivação extrínseca. No que diz respeito à motivação intrínseca e o desempenho escolar, as variáveis não apresentaram correlação significativa. Na 4ª série houve uma correlação significativa e negativa entre motivação extrínseca e desempenho escolar, ou seja, quanto menor o desempenho escolar maior a motivação extrínseca. No que diz respeito à motivação intrínseca e o desempenho escolar as variáveis apresentaram correlação significativa e positiva, indicando que quanto maior o desempenho maior a motivação intrínseca.
Resumo O autoconceito vem sendo considerado na literatura como um constructo multidimensional e um dos aspectos afetivo-emocionais relacionados às dificuldades de aprendizagem. Considerando a importância desse constructo, o objetivo deste estudo foi verificar se haveria diferenças significativas entre os níveis de dificuldade de aprendizagem na escrita e o autoconceito geral, escolar, social, familiar e pessoal de crianças do Ensino fundamental. Utilizou-se uma escala para avaliar a dificuldade de aprendizagem na escrita e outra para avaliação do autoconceito. A amostra foi composta por 277 estudantes, de ambos os sexos, com idade entre 9 e 10 anos, da 3 a série do Ensino fundamental. Os resultados evidenciaram que a dificuldade de aprendizagem na escrita está significativamente relacionada com o autoconceito geral e com o escolar, verificando-se que conforme aumenta o nível de dificuldade de aprendizagem na escrita diminui o autoconceito. O presente artigo investigou o desempenho escolar em função do sexo e a percepção de alunos em relação às expectativas de seu professor. Participaram da pesquisa 120 alunos do 5º ano do ensino fundamental de escolas públicas municipais da região metropolitana de Campinas, dos quais 60 alunos têm desempenho escolar satisfatório e 60 têm desempenho insatisfatório. Foi utilizada uma escala de percepção de alunos acerca das expectativas dos professores; já para medir o desempenho escolar foi considerado o conceito atribuído pelo professor ao aluno. Os resultados revelaram diferenças significativas entre meninos e meninas do grupo de alunos com desempenho insatisfatório, pois a maioria (83,3%) era do sexo masculino. Por outro lado, não se verificaram diferenças estatisticamente significantes quando comparados meninos e meninas do grupo com desempenho escolar satisfatório, embora a média de desempenho escolar das meninas tenha sido maior. Em relação à percepção de seus professores, foram observadas diferenças nos dois grupos. Alunos com desempenho satisfatório se percebem mais elogiados e são escolhidos como ajudantes na sala de aula, enquanto alunos com desempenho insatisfatório acreditam receber mais críticas de seus professores e são vistos como mais indisciplinados. Os dados permitem discutir as relações vinculares entre alunos e professores, as influências das vivências e experiências no momento da aprendizagem e como essas influenciam o interesse e a motivação dos estudantes.
A presente pesquisa teve como objetivo investigar as relações entre a motivação e as crenças de autoeficácia em estudantes do ensino fundamental. Participaram deste estudo 141 crianças entre 8 a 11 anos de idade, alunos de 2a, 3ª e 4a séries, de uma escola da rede pública do Estado de São Paulo. Os estudantes responderam a uma escala de motivação contendo 20 questões e três alternativas de respostas: sempre, às vezes e nunca, e a uma escala de autoeficácia acadêmica que também é composta de 20 questões dispostas em uma escala likert de 04 pontos que variam de muito capaz a nada capaz. A aplicação dos instrumentos ocorreu de forma coletiva, realizada nas salas de aulas dos alunos e somente com aqueles cujos pais haviam autorizado. Os resultados revelam uma correlação positiva e significativa entre a autoeficácia para o estudo, a autoeficácia geral e a motivação intrínseca. Também foi encontrada uma correlação negativa e significativa entre autoeficácia para o estudo e motivação extrínseca. A análise dos dados revelou ainda que houve diferenças estatisticamente significativas em relação à motivação intrínseca apenas entre o grupo com maior percepção de autoeficácia e o de menor percepção. A análise dessas diferenças revela que o grupo com melhor percepção de autoeficácia também obteve pontuação mais alta na escala de motivação intrínseca.
