-In order to enable production of large quantities of plantlets for reintroduction programs, as well as economic exploration,
In order to evaluate the use of controlled-release fertilizer in the production and quality of Acacia mangium seedlings, this experiment was conducted in randomized blocks, and treatments consisted of five levels (0, 2.5, 5.0, 7.5 and 10.0 kg m-3 of substrate) of Osmocote Plus in six replicates. After 130 days of sowing, the production and quality variables of Acacia seedlings were analyzed. All production and quality variables, height/shoot ratio (HSH) and Dickson quality index (DQI) were influenced by the fertilizer doses. The greatest mean values of stem diameter, total height, shoot dry mass, root dry mass, the best HSH and the highest DQI, were obtained for doses ranging from 7.1 to 7.8 kg m-3 of substrate. The largest leaf area was obtained using a dose of 9.3 kg m-3 of substrate.
Stimulate. PHYSIOLOGICAL EVALUATION OF SEEDS OF RICE UNDER DOSE OF BIOSTIMULANT SUMMARY:The biostimulants are composed of phytohormones and have effect on the metabolism of various plants and are applied usually on the seed at sowing crops moment. Therefore, it is important to know the effects of this product on the physiological quality of seeds. Thus, this study aimed to evaluate the effect of doses of biostimulants on physiological characteristics of rice seeds. The treatments consisted of increasing doses of the commercial product Stimulate ® (0, 250, 500, 750 and 1000 ml for 100 kg of seeds) added directly on the rice seed cultivate Primavera. For germination and vigor, treated seeds were subjected to the following tests: first count (PCG), germination (G), emergence (E), speed of emergence (IVE), length of the root system (CSR) and shoot (CPA), dry matter of the root (MSR) and shoot (MPA). The shoot length increased with increasing doses of Stimulate ® . The germination, root length, the dry mass of roots and shoots, the rate of emergence rate and percentage of emergence were not affected by the doses of Stimulate. Doses of 1000 mL per 100 kg seed can be used in rice, increasing the shoot length, but without affecting the germination of seeds.
Aiming to evaluate the potential wood energy of three clones of eucalyptus in different planting spacings, was installed an experiment with a randomized block design in a factorial design, with a combination of six spacings (2,5 x 0,5 m; 2,5 x 1,0 m; 2,5 x 2,0 m; 3,0 x 0,5 m; 3,0 x 1,0 m e 3,0 x 2,0 m) three eucalyptus clones (GG 157, GG 680 e GG 100), with three replicates. At 32 months old, was selected and cut down a medium-diameter tree per plot. These trees were scaled by Smalian method, using sections from 2.0 m to DAP. On these sections were removed wooden disks with 5.0 cm thick, which were used for the analyzes of basic density and calorific value of wood and, based on these values, it was possible to estimate the amount of energy stored per m³. It was observed that the basic density of wood, the gross calorific power and the energy stored in eucalyptus wood were different with the clones and planting spacing. Basic density and the amount of energy stored in a cubic meter of eucalyptus wood tended to increase with in the planting spacing, mainly for GG 680 and GG100 clones. The superior gross calorific of the wood showed no direct relationship with the planting density.
This study investigated whether inoculation of Azospirillum brasilense in the seeds or sowing furrow could reduce the need for nitrogen fertilizer application in the corn grown in the first and second crop harvest. The experiments were conducted, in the municipality of Chapadão do Sul, MS, Brazil, in the first crop harvest (2014/2015) and in the second crop harvest (2016). The early maturity hybrids CD 384 HX and P3132H were used in the first and in the second harvest corn, respectively. In both experiments, the experimental design was the randomized blocks with eight treatments and three repetitions. At the silking (R1 stage), the leaf N concentration, relative chlorophyll index and nitrate reductase activity were measured, at the physiological maturity (R6 stage), the plant height, first ear insertion height, one hundred grain mass, grain yield and grain N concentration were measured. In the first crop harvest, the application of Azospirillum brasilense at the sowing furrow resulted in higher N concentration and relative chlorophyll index in corn leaves, while the inoculation of A. brasilense in the seeds provided higher N concentration in the grains. The nitrate reductase activity in corn leaves was lower when inoculation was performed. In the second crop harvest, the inoculation did not affected the N concentration in the leaves and in the grains, the relative chlorophyll index and the growth of corn plants. Inoculation in the sowing furrow associated with the application of 20 kg N ha-1 at sowing and 120 kg N ha-1 at topdressing resulted in lower nitrate reductase activity.
