Introdução: A pandemia da doença causada pelo coronavírus 2019 (Covid-19) impactou o cotidiano da humanidade e do sistema de saúde mundial. Os pacientes oncológicos representam uma população de risco por apresentarem desfechos desfavoráveis quando infectados. Objetivo: O objetivo deste estudo foi avaliar as recomendações para o manejo da população oncológica durante essa pandemia. Método: Utilizaram-se as plataformas PubMed e BVS para a seleção de artigos referentes ao manejo de pacientes com câncer no decorrer da pandemia da Covid-19, resgatando-se 16 publicações que satisfizeram os critérios de inclusão e exclusão. Resultados: Todas as publicações reforçaram a necessidade de estratégias específicas para o manejo dos pacientes oncológicos e a importância de medidas de prevenção contra a infecção pela síndrome respiratória aguda grave do coronavírus 2 (Sars-CoV-2). Os estudos discorreram sobre o tratamento ativo, cuidados paliativos e a saúde mental dos pacientes e profissionais de saúde. Apesar da sua importância, temas como o impacto futuro do atraso no diagnóstico e dos procedimentos cirúrgicos foram abordados em menos da metade dos estudos. Inexistem protocolos unanimes para o manejo dos pacientes oncológicos durante a pandemia. Conclusão: O manejo ideal é equilibrar medidas preventivas ao contágio pelo vírus e estratégias para oferecer o melhor tratamento contra as neoplasias, considerando as características de cada caso, o bem-estar dos pacientes e dos profissionais de saúde, o impacto dos diagnósticos tardios e o acúmulo de cirurgias para o manejo atual e futuro dos pacientes oncológicos e do sistema de saúde.
Objetivo: Realizar análise epidemiológica da correlação entre fatores sociodemográficos e a incidência da tuberculose. Métodos: Trata-se de um levantamento epidemiológico descritivo desenvolvido em um município do nordeste brasileiro sobre a incidência da tuberculose e a sua relação com os fatores sociodemográficos. A análise dos dados objetivou promover a análise da correlação entre o surgimento de novos casos de tuberculose e as variáveis sexo, raça, zona de moradia e faixa etária das pessoas acometidas. Resultados: Observou-se que a incidência da tuberculose apresenta diferenças estatísticas significativas em relação a todos os parâmetros analisados, acometendo mais homens (63,2%), pardos (60,2%), habitantes da zona urbana (88,4%), e com faixa etária entre 20 e 64 anos (70,6%). Conclusões: O presente estudo identificou que as variáveis analisadas na população do município estão diretamente associadas à incidência da tuberculose, demonstrando a correlação entre elas. A ocorrência da tuberculose deve ser entendida em seus vários aspectos, transpassando a visão clínica, para o entendimento dos fatores sociais que contribuem com a sua incidência, o que torna possível ações direcionadas de controle.
Introdução: O fim do ano de 2019 e início do ano de 2020 estão sendo marcados pelo surgimento e disseminação da pandemia causada pelo novo coronavírus. Frente a esse desafio, é fundamental que os serviços do Sistema Único de Saúde (SUS) estejam estruturados e sejam capazes de antecipar as possíveis necessidades de cuidado que possam ser necessárias. Objetivo: Quantificar a ocupação e o déficit de leitos adulto em unidade de terapia intensiva do SUS (UTI SUS) no estado do Piauí, em possíveis cenários enfrentados durante a pandemia pelo novo coronavírus, e descrever um exemplo de abordagem metodológica para estudos populacionais e previsão de necessidades em saúde. Método:Trata-se de um estudo epidemiológico observacional analítico descritivo. Foram propostos cenários para a disseminação do novo coronavírus, e utilizados cálculos matemáticos para estimar o déficit e a ocupação dos leitos de UTI adulto SUS, para cada macrorregião em saúde do estado. Resultados: Foi possível notar que a taxa de ocupação no estado pode ir de 355,53%, no cenário mais leve, até 2.664,85% no mais grave. O déficit de leitos pode ir de 328 a 3.591. Conclusões: Foi observado que a capacidade instalada de leitos de UTI adulto "SUS" do estado do Piauí é insuficiente para todos os cenários propostos.
O presente estudo busca demonstrar pelo relato de experiência a importância do lúdico na construção de conhecimento, assim como na aquisição e aprimoramento de habilidades cruciais na vivência profissional. Este artigo trata-se de um estudo qualitativo descritivo do tipo relato de experiência desenvolvido por acadêmicos do curso de medicina da Universidade Federal do Delta do Parnaíba (UFDPar). As atividades relatadas foram desenvolvidas na disciplina de microbiologia, a partir da produção de uma metodologia lúdica de ensino para a revisão de um dos conteúdos abordados ao longo do semestre, para tanto o grupo decidiu por utilizar o Role-Playing Game (RPG). O processo de criação do modelo de ensino foi estruturado em três etapas: idealização, confecção e apresentação. A utilização de metodologias ativas torna-se um dispositivo fundamental na apresentação de novos conteúdos em aulas ministradas. Isso decorre da facilidade da comunicação entre diferentes áreas cognitivas, as quais auxiliam também no uso e evolução de habilidades cruciais na vivência profissional. Desse modo, a utilização da metodologia corroborou com outras aplicações em métodos de ensino dentro e fora da universidade, onde a imersão maior dos alunos, associada à utilização de variadas áreas do aprendizado e ao trabalho em equipe, facilita a aquisição de novas formas de conhecimentos e competências necessárias a vida acadêmica e profissional.
