Studies on two-phase gas-liquid co-current flow with non-Newtonian liquid system has attracted the attention of researchers over the years due to its wide-spread applications and importance in various different processes in chemical and biochemical industries, such as the process of two-phase in oil and gas wells, transportation systems of crude and refined products, and food processing in biochemical engineering and bio-reactors. This article examines the sole objective of experimental studies on gas holdup in Newtonian and non-Newtonian liquid slug flow within a range of gas and liquid flowrate of 0.5×10-4 to 1.92×10-4 m3/s and 1.6×10-4 to 6.7×10-4 m3/s, respectively. The present data was analyzed with different models. To predict gas holdup, correlations have been developed for individual system with Newtonian and non-Newtonian liquid. A general correlation was also developed to predict the gas holdup combing both the Newtonian and non-Newtonian liquid systems. The study of the gas holdup characteristics in gas-Newtonian and non-Newtonian liquid systems may give insight into a further understanding and modeling of this slug flow characteristics in industrial applications.

Novel Corona Virus has spread to 188 countries around the world which made the people infected, facing moderate respiratory illness. Currently one of the major strategies to deal with COVID-19 and reduce community transmission of infections is the frequent use of hand sanitizers. However, a large section of common mass is unable to buy them due to higher price. Therefore, an approach has been presented here to produce cheaper sanitizers with easily available herbal ingredients like Aloe Vera gel, boiled water, surgical spirit, Glycerine etc. The estimated making cost of 100 ml of sanitizer was 16 rupees. The mass production of this sanitizer can be very effective for large scale use of sanitizers by common people.

Background: Vaccination, albeit a necessity in the prevention of infectious diseases, requires appropriate strategies for addressing vaccine hesitancy at an individual and community level. However, there remains a glaring scarcity of available literature in that regard. Therefore, this review aims to scrutinize globally tested interventions to increase the vaccination uptake by addressing vaccine hesitancy at various stages of these interventions across the globe and help policy makers in implementing appropriate strategies to address the issue.Methods: A systematic review of descriptive and analytic studies was conducted using specific key word searches to identify literature containing information about interventions directed at vaccine hesitancy. The search was done using PubMed, Global Health, and Science Direct databases. Data extraction was based on study characteristics such as author details; study design; and type, duration, and outcome of an intervention.Results: A total of 105 studies were identified of which 33 studies were included in the final review. Community-based interventions, monetary incentives, and technology-based health literacy demonstrated significant improvement in the utilization of immunization services. On the other hand, media-based intervention studies did not bring about a desired change in overcoming vaccine hesitancy.Conclusion: This study indicates that the strategies should be based on the need and reasons for vaccine hesitancy for the targeted population. A multidimensional approach involving community members, families, and individuals is required to address this challenging issue.

Due to the increasing need to transport fluids, the use of industrial pipes and their sustainability is a crucial aspect to address. The motive of this work is to predict the behaviour of a pre-cracked pipeline under internal and external pressure using Finite element simulation. An intermediate range of pressure conditions has been selected to analyse the dispersal of normalized stress intensity factor along a semi elliptical crack front for a predefined crack geometry. This work also presents a comparative study of various piping material behaviour to address a relatively better choice for industrial use. Among the various alloys considered in the analysis Inconel 625 was found to be most appropriate for the pressure range.
