The objective of this study was to test the effectiveness of an educational intervention with use of educational technology (flipchart) to promote quality of life (QOL) and treatment adherence in people with hypertension. It was an intervention study of before-and-after type conducted with 116 hypertensive people registered in Primary Health Care Units. The educational interventions were conducted using the flipchart educational technology. Quality of life was assessed through the MINICHAL (lowest score = better QOL) and the QATSH (higher score = better adherence) was used to assess the adherence to hypertension treatment. Both were measured before and after applying the intervention. In the analysis, we used the Student’s t-test for paired data. The average baseline quality of life was 11.66 ± 7.55, and 7.71 ± 5.72 two months after the intervention, showing a statistically significant reduction (p <0.001) and mean of differences of 3.95. The average baseline adherence to treatment was 98.03 ± 7.08 and 100.71 ± 6.88 two months after the intervention, which is statistically significant (p < 0.001), and mean of differences of 2.68. The conclusion was that the educational intervention using the flipchart improved the total score of quality of life in the scores of physical and mental domains, and increased adherence to hypertension treatment in people with the disease.

Objetivo: mapear o conceito de vulnerabilidade em saúde no campo da saúde coletiva. Método: trata-se de uma scoping review, que utilizou a equação de busca vulnerability AND health em cinco bases de dados. Os critérios de elegibilidade foram o termo ‘vulnerabilidade’ no título e com definição explícita do conceito. Não foram aplicados limites de ano ou idioma, obtendo-se 101 artigos para análise. Resultados: Encontraram-se artigos a partir de 2002 e o conceito passou a ser mais discutido após 2010. De 2002 a 2010, estudos qualitativos foram mais presentes e depois, os quantitativos destacaram-se. O conceito tem abrangência mundial, com destaque para o Brasil; abordou mais as doenças infecciosas e a atenção primária. Conclusão: o conceito é discutido mundialmente, sob aspectos epidemiológicos tradicionais no campo da Saúde Coletiva, porém observa-se uma transição.

Objetivo: analisar os aspectos sociodemográficos, o estilo de vida de estudantes universitários e sua associação com a autopercepção de saúde dos estudantes universitários. Métodos: trata-se de um estudo transversal analítico realizado com 119 universitários. Os dados foram coletados por meio do questionário “Indicadores de Saúde e Qualidade de Vida de Acadêmicos (Isaq-A)” e analisados no programa estatístico SPSS 20.0. Para análise descritiva, foram calculadas as frequências simples e relativas das variáveis do estudo e medidas de tendência central e de dispersão, também se utilizou estatística bivariada. Foi realizada a análise com modelo de regressão logística hierarquizada, no qual as variáveis foram divididas em variáveis sociodemográficas e de estilo de vida. O desfecho adotado foi o índice de qualificação discente (IQD). O estudo foi aprovado no Comitê de Ética sob o Parecer nº 1.582.378. Resultados: na análise bivariada houve associação estatisticamente significativa com sexo (p=0,03); nível de estresse (p=0,004); sentir-se satisfeito com a vida (p=0,001) e consumo de álcool (últimos 30 dias) (p= 0,002). Conclusão: ao longo do percurso acadêmico, o estilo de vida sofre alterações negativas e positivas.

Objective: To map evidence on the use of digital technologies in the care of people with diabetes during the COVID-19 pandemic. Method: This is a scoping review, based on the JBI manual, which included scientific articles and gray literature from nine primary and seven secondary databases. Articles were independently assessed by two reviewers. Rayyan® was used to select the studies. The description of study characterization is presented in a table and tables, ending in a narrative synthesis. Results: A total of 1,964 studies were identified and, after selection, 23 publications remained for analysis. It turned out that telemedicine was used in all studies and remote consultation support technologies included continuous glucose monitoring devices, glucose data analysis software, insulin delivery systems, applications, audio and/or voice communication devices, which facilitated remote diabetes mellitus monitoring and management. Conclusion: Telehealth, monitoring technologies, insulin delivery systems and communication devices were tools used to monitor patients with diabetes during the pandemic.

Background: The COVID-19 pandemic has harmed the provision of palliative care (PC) services for women with breast cancer due to all the restrictions that came along with the virus. Objective: To map the available evidence on the situation of PC in breast cancer during the COVID-19 pandemic. Methods: A scoping review was carried out based on the methodology proposed by the Joanna Briggs Institute. The search was conducted in nine databases, one electronic repository, and one library, using controlled vocabularies. Results: Twenty-nine articles and seven documents were included. The majority (11.4% each) were published in the United Kingdom, Italy, and the United States, 38.9% addressed palliative radiotherapy (RT), and 47.2% consisted of recommendations. From the content analysis, five categories were obtained focused on the recommendations on changes in palliative treatment guidelines and the response of PC teams to the evolving crisis. Conclusions: The evidence pointed to the management of general PC, palliative RT, palliative chemotherapy, management of metastatic breast cancer, and use of technologies in palliative care. No recommendations were found to manage frequent symptoms in PC, indicating the need to develop primary studies that investigate these aspects in detail in this vulnerable group. Implications: The results contained in this document can provide professionals working in this field of care with a global view of how other teams have dealt with the pandemic, thereby identifying the best guidelines to apply in their reality, taking into account the clinical and social situation of each patient.
