Purpose The purpose of this study is to assess small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) owners’ intentions to participate in waqf, involving two countries, which are Malaysia and Indonesia, using the theory of planned behavior. SMEs are the backbone of many economies, representing 95% of all companies worldwide and accounting for 60% of employment. Based on this fact, this paper analyzes the influence of religiosity, knowledge and attitude to predict the intentions of SMEs’ owners in waqf participation in Malaysia and Indonesia. Design/methodology/approach Data were randomly obtained from 175 SMEs owners from Malaysia and Indonesia with the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) used for analysis. Findings The empirical analysis data suggest that knowledge and attitude show a significant impact on the intentions of SMEs’ owners to participate in waqf, while religiosity does not have a significant impact on the intentions of Malaysian and Indonesian SMEs’ owners to participate in waqf. Practical implications This study aims to assist SMEs in Malaysia and Indonesia to formulate appropriate strategies and marketing using waqf for the sustainability of SMEs which represent more than 90% of business establishments in both countries. The strategy is a necessity, especially because the government is targeting to promote a sustainable Islamic financial system, improve governance policy and halal industry for SMEs, strengthen the development of Malay Reserve land, providing as financial independence to higher learning institutions and invest in digitalization and advanced technology through waqf funds. Therefore, both countries should take the initiative to provide training to equip SMEs with extensive knowledge through multiple platforms to further encourage their participation in waqf. Originality/value Because of the increasing interest in waqf participation both in Malaysia and Indonesia, this study claims three essential contributions. First, it aims to examine the intention of SMEs in waqf participation among the business owners in Malaysia and Indonesia. Second, the study findings are expected to benefit the development of literature in accordance with Islamic social finance, particularly waqf. Third, this study provides an insight into the inclusive knowledge and attitude of SME owners and their intention to participate in waqf.
Purpose examine and analyze the internal factors are knowledge sharing self-efficacy, self leadership, knowledge sharing behavior which is a determinant of innovative behavior. Innovative behavior is the variable of interest in the company that produces classic and this becomes a success and a means to sustain in the competition for very competitive industry. Design / methodology / approach This research method uses a quantitative approach to structural equation model of partial least square (PLS-SEM) as a tool to test and analyze, the respondents in this study amounted to 90 from various divisions. Internal factors that have a role to innovative behavior. Findings This study get the result that knowledge sharing self-efficacy and self-leadership has a direct influence on knowledge sharing behavior. Only the selfefficacy of knowledge sharing behabior does not have a direct influence on innovative behavior. Variable knowledge sharing behavior in this study could be the moderator of knowledge sharing self-efficacy and self-leadership to innovative behavior.Research limitations / implications The study was limited to one company that has been selling its products to foreign countries in the form of a classic product. The existence of multiple variables of a strong internal factors that become determinants of innovation behavior and is coherent with other studies but still on innovation behavior.Practical implications Companies that introduce innovative behavior must consider the importance of internal factors that can sustain the company in the face of competition is already clear today is globalization. Globalization is not inevitable, to achieve and maintain their co-factors needed to become an influence. Originality / value The research indicates the difference variables on internal factors, as it explores the innovative behavior in terms of behavior, because behavior is the feedback to be received directly by the company. On the other hand is expected to be added in the form of moderator variables gender difference (female or male) that will get the results (male and female) is more dominant
This study aims to determine and analyze the influence of economic growth, government capital expenditure, and human development index on the inequality of income distribution in Metropolitan Cities in Indonesia. This type of research is descriptive associative research, where the data used is secondary data from 2012 to 2021 obtained from relevant agencies, which were analyzed using the panel data regression method. The findings of this study indicate that the human development index has a negative and significant effect on the inequality of income distribution in Metropolitan Cities in Indonesia, capital expenditures and economic growth have a positive and insignificant effect on the inequality of income distribution in Metropolitan Cities in Indonesia. Taken together, only the human development index has a significant effect on the inequality of income distribution in Metropolitan Cities in Indonesia.
Background: People are more aware of halal products in commodity markets. Halal meat is an essential commodity for society in the Islamic commodity market in particular. The objective of this study was to analyze differences in research trends related to halal meat in published papers indexed by Scopus and Web of Science. The objective is to observe how was halal meat as commodity become the trend of research written by Indonesian authors, as well as what was the novelty of the research trend related to such tiopic. Methods: This study used purposive sampling with a bibliometric approach in collecting the samples. The samples were published papers from the Scopus and Web of Science (SCI) databases from 2006 to 25th October 2021. The were 154 samples found from cSopus and 50 samples in Web of Science (SCI). Analysis was performed by VOSviewer and biblioshiny. Results: Overall, 154 papers from Scopus and 50 from SCI were analyzed. Scopus and SCI exhibited different research trends. Moreover, papers from Scopus were dominated by Indonesian authors; those from SCI were not. The source growth of published papers in SCI was more dynamic than that in Scopus. The research trends in papers from SCI were more focused on the types of meat and the source itself. This was different to papers in Scopus, which placed greater emphasis on the supply chain. Conclusions: This paper can act as a reference for continued research into halal meat in commodity markets, especially in Islamic countries. This paper is the first to compare the research trends in halal meat in the commodity market by comparing the differences in two major indexes, Scopus and SCI.
