<p><strong>Abstract:</strong> This research was conducted with the aim to determine the effect of communication and collaboration skills on vocational students' work readiness. The number of research respondents was 114 students. Research Instrumens using Instrumens that have been used, namely Self-Perceived Communication Competence Scale, Teamwork Scale for Youth, Work Readiness Scale. The results found that communication and collaborative skills have an influence on student work readiness simultaneously and partially. Increasing these skills will increase the vocational students' work readiness. In schools that play a role in improving communication and collaboration skills is the teacher, if outside the school the role is parents with regular supervision processes.</p><strong>Abstrak:</strong><em> </em>Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh keterampilan berkomunikasi dan berkolaborasi terhadap kesiapan kerja siswa SMK. Responden penelitian berjumlah 114 siswa. Instrumen penelitian menggunakan instrumen yang sudah pernah digunakan yaitu <em>Self-Perceived Communication Competence Scale, Teamwork Scale for Youth, Work Readiness Scale.</em> Hasil penelitian didapatkan bahwa keterampilan berkomunikasi dan berkolaborasi memiliki pengaruh dalam kesiapan kerja siswa secara simultan dan parsial. Semakin meningkatkanya keterampilan tersebut maka semakin meningkat dalam kesiapan kerja siswa SMK. Dalam sekolah yang berperan dalam meningkatkan keterampilan komunikasi dan kolaborasi adalah guru, jika berada di luar sekolah yang berperan adalah orang tua dengan proses pengawasan secara berkala.
This study aimed to explore the end user’s preferences regarding the features of an android app by classifying them with the Kano Model. The list of features was based on ISO/IEC 25010 combined with Android Core App Quality Guidelines. This expert system android app which is named ‘Pilih Media’ is used to help teachers selecting learning media based on Anderson’s theory of learning media selection. Respondents in this study were 50 teachers. Kano model was used in this study as a guideline in making questionnaires and also analyzing the data. From the study, it can be concluded that there are 17 features classified as the Attractive requirement category, six features classified as One-dimensional category, one feature classified as Must-be category, and five features classified as the Indifferent category. Overall, it seems that a lot of features have the potential to increase the end user’s satisfaction.
Other skills that students need to develop beside their expertise fields are 21 st century skills. What is needed in preparing students for work and entrepreneurship are, among others, communication, critical thinking, and collaboration skills. The purpose of this research was to see the effect of 21 st century skills on job and entrepreneurship readiness, partially and simultaneously. This research was quantitative using multiple linear regression analysis. Respondents in this study were vocational high school students with a total of 445 respondents. The results of this study were the partial or simultaneous influences of communication, critical thinking, and collaboration skills on work readiness and entrepreneurship. The results can be used as consideration materials for educational institutions and the industry to increase the importance of 21 st century skills for students and employees. The more improvement of these skills increases job and entrepreneurial readiness of vocational high school students. Students who master other skills would find it easier to find work or develop entrepreneurship because academic skills could not keep up with the situations and conditions when they are about to graduate from vocational high schools. The industry is looking for workers who can see the situation and conditions when they are working, and also stated that academic potential or vocational abilities could be developed over time.
