This work presents an advance of interdisciplinary and intrainstitutional research carried out by 8 research groups of the Autonomous University of Nuevo Leon, Mexico, which aims to design a subcutaneous device that allows self-monitoring. The background check is reported by the subteam of the area of Education and Communication Sciences that focuses on the study of social and cultural conditions that affect adherence to treatment by people who have been diagnosed with Diabetes, as well as the methodological design, with a qualitative approach.RESUMENEste trabajo presenta un avance de la investigación interdisciplinaria e intrainstitucional que realizan 8 grupos de investigación de la Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León, México y que tiene como objetivo diseñar un dispositivo subcutáneo que permita el automonitoreo.
