Objective: to analyze the incompleteness of variables retrieved from the Live Birth Information System (SINASC) and the Mortality Information System (SIM), in the State of Rio de Janeiro, in the time series 1999 to 2014. Methods: this was a time series study of SINASC and SIM; the Romero & Cunha score was used to analyze incompleteness; Joinpoint regression was used to analyze temporal trend; in 2014, deaths were evaluated separately according to investigation. Results: regarding SINASC variables, in 1999 marital status (37.40%), number of stillborn children (31.30%), and race/skin color (24.63%) had the highest incompleteness percentages; in 2014, no variable exceeded 5% incompleteness, except occupation; regarding SIM variables, in 1999 five variables exceeded 20%, and missing data for previous stillborn children was over 60%; in 2014, only one variable exceeded 20% incompleteness; investigated deaths had better completeness. Conclusion: both systems were found to have improved; the quality of SINASC completeness remained superior to that of SIM.
Introduction According to the World Health Organization, the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) has 48.896.564 reported cases and 1.236.995 deaths worldwide on November 5, 2020. Despite great efforts, there is no treatment of COVID-19 up to nowadays. Therefore, it is essential to search for therapeutic alternatives to COVID-19, such as Integrative Medicine, especially Homeopathy, which was used with excellent results in the great epidemics. Aim This study aims to describe the coronavirus Pandemic from the perspective of Classical Systemic Homeopathy and to identify the homeopathic medicine (medicines genius) that has its sphere of action in most of the symptoms involved in this pandemic. Methods Articles published in indexed journals and websites of medical institutions, books of homeopathic materia medica, scientific journals, and government publications were reviewed. Results A total of 39 references were selected and enclosed 20 articles indexed on COVID-19, 08 references of systemic conditions, 11 articles indexed of homeopathy, 06 classic homeopathy books. After the study, the homeopathic medicine Cinchona officinalis ( China officinalis) was proposed, according to pathogenesis (experimental pathophysiological study in humans) described in the materia medica books consulted, for the relief of symptoms. Its sphere of action in most of the symptoms involved in this pandemic. Moreover, acute homeopathic medicines were determined to act in the relief of symptoms of the various phases of the manifestations of the disease. Conclusion: Data contributes to use in homeopathic interventions during the COVID-19 epidemic as a health promotion and treatment strategy that can be used as an adjunct to all sanitary and therapeutic measures recommended by health authorities.
The only factor that can interfere with the incidence of NEC in infants of very low birth weight was the presence of PE. Awareness of this fact can guide the perinatal team in providing more judicious care regarding the prevention of NEC in this specific population.
Background: Brazilian Ministry of Health has reported 5.273.954 cases and 154.837 deaths from COVID-19 on October 20th, 2020. The first case of COVID-19 in Brazil occurred on February 26th, in São Paulo state. A total of 351.877 cases and 13.331 deaths were reported only in the city of São Paulo on October 20th. This scenario has severe health, economic, and social impact, as in other countries. Therefore, treatment strategies are urgently needed, such as Homeopathy that has shown excellent results in several epidemics. Aims: This study aims to describe the health signs and symptoms of some healthcare and essential professionals during the use of China officinalis. Methodology: Participants were professionals of the Server Public Municipal Hospital of São Paulo (HSPM), the Nossa Senhora Rainha da Paz Association (RP), and The Padre Bento Hospital (HPB). The homeopathic intervention was C. officinalis 6CH and a dosage of six drops per day. The study design was a time series with analysis by questionnaire before and after using homeopathic medicine. Statistical analyses were done by the McNemar test to compare qualitative data paired with a significance level of 5%. Ethical approval is CAAE 31802720.0.0000.5442. Results and discussion: Among the HSPM and RP participants, 83,1% did not develop symptoms while using C. officinalis and 16,9% developed symptoms while using C. officinalis. Among the HPB participants, 87,8 % did not develop symptoms while using C. officinalis and 12,2 % developed symptoms while using C. officinalis. . During the usage of C. officinalis, covid19-like symptoms were reduced with a significant difference (p<0.05). Among the symptomatic, none of the participants needed intensive care hospitalization, supplemental oxygen, or intubation. Conclusion: C. officinalis was very acceptability by participants, and its use during the coronavirus pandemic contributed to health promotion.
Background The period of social isolation, due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, impacted the children's social and family life in different ways. The whole family's feelings and emotions are intertwined, and everyone is involved in a broad awareness. Children, having a more developed intuitive awareness, receive all this in the form of subliminal inputs. At the moment, there is a concern regarding behavioral disorders in children and the risk of medicalization. The systemic view of Homeopathy can contribute to understanding this context. Aims: To contextualize the pediatric emotional disorders resulting from Pandemic in Carillo Júnior's view of Classic Systemic Homeopathy and list possible homeopathic medicines. Methodology: Bibliographic survey about emotional disorders in children during the Pandemic period. A theoretical review of the concept of disease in the view of classic systemic homeopathy and selection of drugs based on the method of repertorization of signs and symptoms. Results and discussion: The classification of diseases based on the Carillo Jr Complex Systems Model is based on the concept of prevalence between intrinsic and extrinsic factors. Through this model, we can understand what is being received by children as subliminal "inputs" since they do not assess the irrational conscience. Individual resilience and vulnerability will determine how they respond. Emotional and behavior disorders: distraction, irritability, fear, agitation, anxiety, poor sleep, nightmares. Main suggested drugs: Belladona, Chamomilla, Aconitum nappelus, Argentum nitricum, Gelsemium, Tarentula hispanica, Stramonium, Ignatia amara, Aurum metalicum, Cypripedium, Coffea cruda. Conclusion: The imposed social isolation leads to an excess of external inputs on the pediatric population, and the difficulty in processing them can lead to the emergence of emotional disorders. Therefore, as a cognitive therapy that acts on the self-regulation of the organism, homeopathy is an excellent, beneficial, and assertive tool.
Background The Zika virus (ZIKV) is a flavivirus and the human disease caused by this virus has been described in the Americas in 2015. ZIKV has been identified as an etiological agent of acute exanthematous disease in Brazil. In the same year, an epidemic of microcephaly with images suggestive of congenital infection raised the suspicion of a relationship between these alterations and ZIKV infection. Epidemiological and histopathological studies point to a strong relationship between prenatal Zika virus infection and microcephaly. Newborns with microcephaly, may also present auditory and visual changes, seizures and severe neurodevelopmental impairment. In 2016, the World Health Organization (WHO) declared Zika virus (ZIKV) infection a public health emergency of international concern. Aims Clinical observation in the ambulatory school of ABRAH (Brazilian Association of Recycling and Homeopathy Assistance) of patients with encephalopathy of various origins, using the medicine Helleborus niger as equalizer of the NS (Nervous System), as described in the Complex Systems of Carillo, shows improvement in motor, cognitive and seizure disorders. Based on this observation, we propose to use this method in patients with ZIKV congenital infection. Methodology To evaluate 15 patients in follow-up at the AFR (Fluminense Rehabilitation Association), through homeopathic anamnesis, clinical, diathesic, biotypological and temperamental classification. The Gross Motor Function Classification System (GMFCS) will be used. All patients will receive Helleborus niger 6 Ch daily for 6 months. Results and discussion This study was forwarded to the research ethics committee and will begin in July 2019. Will be evaluated the use of Helleborus niger in patients with congenital infection by ZIKV, as equalizer of NS. The expected result is overall neurological improvement. Conclusion Helleborus niger, probably stimulating self-regulation through uninjured neurological pathways, will promote autopoiesis and construction of new programs of action, and will enable the improvement of patients with congenital ZIKV infection.
