RESUMO:A prática baseada em evidências é uma abordagem que encoraja o desenvolvimento e/ ou utilização de resultados de pesquisas na prática clínica. Devido à quantidade e complexidade de informações na área da saúde, há necessidade de produção de métodos de revisão de literatura, dentre estes, destacamos a revisão integrativa. Assim, o objetivo do estudo foi apresentar os conceitos gerais e as etapas para a elaboração da revisão integrativa, bem como aspectos relevantes sobre a aplicabilidade deste método para a pesquisa na saúde e enfermagem. A revisão integrativa é um método de pesquisa que permite a busca, a avaliação crítica e a síntese das evidências disponíveis do tema investigado, sendo o seu produto final o estado atual do conhecimento do tema investigado, a implementação de intervenções efetivas na assistência à saúde e a redução de custos, bem como a identificação de lacunas que direcionam para o desenvolvimento de futuras pesquisas.ABSTRACT: Evidence based practice is an approach that encourages the development and/or use of research results in clinical practice. Due to the quantity and complexity of information in health care, literature review methods need to be produced. Among such methods, we highlight the integrative review. Hence, this study aimed to present the general concepts and steps for the elaboration of an integrative review, as well as relevant aspects about the applicability of this method for health and nursing research. The integrative review is a research method that allows for the search, critical assessment, and synthesis of available evidence about the research theme. Its end product is the current stage of knowledge about the investigated theme, the implementation of effective interventions in health care and cost reduction, as well as the identification of gaps that indicate developments for future research. RESUMEN:La práctica basada en evidencias es una aproximación que encoraja el desarrollo y/o utilización de resultados de investigaciones en la práctica clínica. Debido a la cuantidad y la complejidad de informaciones en el área de la salud, es necesario producir métodos de revisión de la literatura, entre los cuales destacamos la revisión integradora. Así, la finalidad del estudio fue presentar los conceptos generales y las etapas para la elaboración de la revisión integradora, y también, aspectos relevantes sobre la aplicabilidad de ese método para la investigación en la salud y la enfermería. La revisión integradora es un método de investigación que permite la búsqueda, la evaluación crítica y la síntesis de las evidencias disponibles sobre el tema investigado, siendo su producto final el estado actual del conocimiento del tema investigado, la implementación de intervenciones efectivas en la atención a la salud y la reducción de costos, y también, la identificación de vacíos que dirigen hacia el desarrollo de futuras investigaciones. Objective: present the use of the bibliographic reference manager EndNote( as a support tool in the construction of a database and the selection of primary studies to develop integrative reviews. Method: a reflection study was undertaken, based on the international and the Brazilian literature. Results: the elaboration of an integrative review permits summarizing the knowledge about the theme of interest delimited in the health area, which can contribute by providing recommendations based on research results for clinical practice, as well as by identifying knowledge gaps, driving future research development. The use of bibliographic reference management tools is important for the selection of primary studies, permitting the location of repeated references, identification of languages, selection of publication periods and the creation of citations in the elaboration of the scientific text, among other resources. Conclusion: the advance in technologies, particularly the software EndNote(, has provided resources for the practicability of knowledge synthesis methods, in a transparent and replicable manner, consequently entailing a better quality of this type of study.

The results of this investigation will help nurses and other professionals in selecting the C recutita dosage used to manage oral mucositis in patients undergoing HSCT.

RESUMOIntrodução: Os pacientes submetidos ao transplante de medula óssea (TMO) necessitam de um acesso venoso seguro para a infusão da medula óssea. A implantação de um cateter venoso central é parte da terapêutica, sendo o de Hickman o mais utilizado atualmente; entretanto, sua presença impõe riscos, sendo a infecção, o mais preocupante. Objetivo: Revisão integrativa da literatura, que teve como objetivo buscar e avaliar as evidências sobre os cuidados de enfermagem relacionados ao cateter de Hickman. Método: Para a seleção dos artigos utilizamos as bases de dados Lilacs, Medline, Cinahl e o periódico Bone Marrow Transplantation, e a amostra constituiu-se de 18 artigos. Resultados: O curativo recomendado é o de poliuretano trocado a cada 7 dias. O método de coleta de sangue observado foi o de descarte, sendo que a dosagem de ciclosporina não deve ser coletada da mesma via onde foi infundida. A redução do número de manipulações do cateter é considerada uma medida eficaz na prevenção e no controle de infecção. Considerações finais: As evidências extraídas dos estudos analisados podem auxiliar a implementação de cuidados de enfermagem eficazes relacionados ao cateter de Hickman.Descritores: Transplante de medula óssea; Cateterismo venoso central; Cuidados de enfermagem ABSTRACT Background: Patients submitted to Bone Marrow Transplantation (BMT) need a safe venous access for the infusion of bone marrow. The implantation of a central venous catheter is a part of therapy, with Hickman's catheter as the most commonly used type; however, its presence entails risks, the most preoccupying of which is infection. Objective: Integrative literature review aimed to look for and evaluate evidence on nursing care related to Hickman's catheter. Method: Articles were selected from the Lilacs, Medline and Cinahl databases and from the journal Bone Marrow Transplantation. The sample consisted of 18 articles. Results: Polyurethane dressings are recommended, to be changed every 7 days. The observed blood collection method was through discarding, in which the cyclosporine dose should not be collected from the same pathway it was infused in. Reducing the number of catheter manipulations is considered an efficient measure for infection prevention and control. Nurses can use this review to assist in decision-making directed towards preparing, updating and implementing a reliable system for the surgical count process based on recent evidence because the perioperative nurse plays a key role in the implementation of this practice in health services.

Objective: to identify and synthesize the evidence from randomized clinical trials that tested the effectiveness of traditional Chinese acupuncture in relation to sham acupuncture for the treatment of hot flashes in menopausal women with breast cancer.Method: systematic review guided by the recommendations of the Cochrane Collaboration. Citations were searched in the following databases: MEDLINE via PubMed, Web of Science, CENTRAL, CINAHL, and LILACS. A combination of the following keywords was used: breast neoplasm, acupuncture, acupuncture therapy, acupuncture points, placebos, sham treatment, hot flashes, hot flushes, menopause, climacteric, and vasomotor symptoms. Results: a total of 272 studies were identified, five of which were selected and analyzed. Slight superiority of traditional acupuncture compared with sham acupuncture was observed; however, there were no strong statistical associations. Conclusions: the evidence gathered was not sufficient to affirm the effectiveness of traditional acupuncture compared with sham acupuncture.

There is strong evidence that cryotherapy can prevent oral mucositis arising from ambulatory treatment with 5-flurouracil chemotherapy. Other interventions, although showing positive results in preventing oral mucositis, require further study to confirm their conclusions.

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of acupuncture versus placebo acupuncture on anxiety in lactating mothers with preterm infants. A parallel, randomized, patient-assessor blind, placebo-controlled trial was conducted in a tertiary school hospital in Londrina, Brazil, between 2011 and 2012. Mothers (n = 29) with very low birth weight infants born at this institution were randomly assigned to two treatment groups: acupuncture, AG (n = 14), or placebo acupuncture, PG (n = 15). Treatment sessions occurred once a week, using 5 Chinese auricular points unilaterally. The primary outcome measure was STAI-State scores, and secondary outcome measure was salivary cortisol levels. Both measures were collected before and after treatment and submitted to a blind assessor. Before-after treatment mean difference in STAI-State scores was observed in both groups (AG = 8.71 and PG = 8.20), not statistically significant (P = 0.888), although within group analysis was significant for both groups (P < 0.005). Salivary cortisol levels did not change after treatment in both groups (P = 0.480). There was no correlation between STAI and salivary cortisol results. At infant's hospital discharge, 76% subjects were breastfeeding exclusively. There was no difference between real and placebo acupuncture for anxiety in mothers with preterm infants.
