In this paper, the design of a dual band quadrifllar helical antenna (QHA) is proposed for the radio beacon receiver in the application of the ground station of the low earth orbit (LEO) satellite. The new configuration of the QHA is proposed to achieve the dual operating frequencies (150 MHz and 400 MHz), which it is the combination of two bifllar helical antennas (BHA). The proposed antenna possess the hemispherical radiation pattern, dual-band operation, circular polarization and 2.2 dBic absolute gain. The simulation results are shown to demonstrate the antenna performance.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
