A remarkable new genus and species of Nemourinae, Sinonemura balangshana gen. et sp. n., is described from Balang Mountains, Sichuan, southwestern China. The description is based on morphology and molecular data. The Nemourinae genera related to the new taxon are re-evaluated on the basis of comparative functional morphology of male epiproct. Notes on the Asian distribution of the Nemourinae are also given. et al. (2020) A remarkable new genus and species of Nemourinae (Plecoptera, Nemouridae) from Sichuan, China, with systematic notes on the related genera. PLoS ONE 15(3): e0229120. https://doi.org/10.
Two new species of the Amphinemurinae genus Amphinemura, A. bifascia sp. nov. and A. bicornata sp. nov. are described from Damingshan National Natural Reserve of central Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region of southern China. Their relationships to other similar species in the genus are discussed.
Two new species of the genus Amphinemura, A.albicaudasp. n. and A.dingoideasp. n. from the southern Qinling Mountains, Foping County of Shaanxi Province, western China, are described based on both sexes and the larval stage. The new species are compared with related taxa, and the A.sinensis species group is defined for an Oriental lineage of the genus. Amphinemurasinensis (Wu, 1926) and A.unihamata (Wu, 1973) are reported from Shaanxi for the first time, and the hitherto unknown female of A.unihamata is described. A distribution map of the Amphinemurinae known from Qinling Mountains is given.
The family Chloroperlidae is reported from Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region of southern China for the first time with a description of a new species of the genus Sweltsa, S. bilobata sp. nov. The new species is compared to two similar species.
A remarkable new species of the genus Kiotina Klapálek, 1907 is described, K. bilobata sp. nov. both from Guangdong and Zhejiang provinces of China. The taxonomic relationships with related species are discussed in this paper.
Two species of the genus Neoperla Needham, 1905 from the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region of southern China are treated, the description of one new species, N. shiwandashana sp. nov., and the first Chinese record of N. yentu Cao & Bae, 2007. Illustrations and color images are provided for each species and the new species is compared with related congeners.
A new nemourid species, Amphinemura yao sp. nov. is described from the Daoyao Mountains of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region of southern China. Amphinemura ancistroidea Li & Yang, 2007 is newly recorded from Guangxi and the female is described for the first time including the internal vaginal complex. The new species is compared with related taxa.
A new species of the Amphinemurinae genus Amphinemura, A. baisensis sp. nov. is described from Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region of southern China. Affinities of the new taxon with similar regional species of Amphinemura are discussed.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
