ethylthiosulfanylate is alkyl ester of thiosulfoacid and belongs to the class of thiosulfonate compounds. structurally, thiosulfonates are synthetic analogues of natural phytoncides. It is known that, natural organic sulfur-containing compounds are characterized by antioxidant and detoxification properties against heavy metals toxicity. therefore, the purpose of the study was to investigate the influence of ethylthiosulfanylate, as a synthetic analogue of natural phytoncides, on the state of the pro/antioxidant system in the liver of laboratory rats exposed to cr(vI). It was found that ethylthiosulfanylate exposure at a dose 100 mg/kg body weight daily for 14 days led to a decrease in the intensity of increasing of the lipid hydroperoxides (lhP) content in the rat liver caused by cr(vI) action. In addition, ethylthiosulfanylate pretreatment prevented depletion of reduced glutathione (Gsh) pool under the action of potassium dichromate oxidative stress and performed the accumulation of cellular Gsh in rat liver.
To ensure normal functioning of the organism of animals, the maintenance of their vital functions, the growth and development of the young animals, their productive and reproductive capacities, it is necessary to ensure their full nutrition. Unbalanced mineral nutrition in the diet of the animals leads to the impairments of mineral metabolism in their body. One of the most promising way of obtaining micronutrients with guaranteed safety and bioticity is the use of the achievements of nanotechnology and bioorganic chemistry for the synthesis of organometallic biocomplexes, in particular, citrates. The Institute of Animal Biology of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine conducts studies to fi nd out the physiological and biochemical mechanisms of the action of nanoaquacitrate minerals in the organism of animals in different periods of ontogenetic devel- opment and productive use. It has been established that the trace elements of microelements are biologically active and safe for health, and their use in livestock breeding leads to increased animal vitality and productivity.
This paper presents cosmological models in which the gravitational and cosmological constants G and Λ are time-dependent. We find a variety of solutions for the variation of cosmological parameters. It is also found that, in the case of matter dominated Robertson-Walker Universe, if the cosmological constant Λ = 0 , the Hubble's constant H is not constant at all but inversely proportional to the cosmic time. The conservation law for the energy momentum tensor is still valid with our law of variation: Λ ∝ R −2 and G ρ ∝ Λ 8π .
Chromium is one of the important trace elements that is essential for carbohydrate, protein and lipid metabolism. Chromium improves glucose metabolism and reduces insulin resistance due to increased insulin sensitivity. Therefore, it is important to consider the use of chromium citrate as a nutritional supplement with potential hypoglycemic and hypolipidemic effects. In this research work, we investigated the activity of the antioxidant system and the level of lipid hydroperoxides in the tissues of skeletal muscles and kidneys of experimental diabetic rats and for rats which received in their daily diet chromium citrate in the amounts 0.1 and 0.2 μg/mL of water. We induced the experimental model of diabetes by intraperitoneal injection of alloxan in the amount 150 mg/kg of body weight of the animals. We monitored glucose levels by measuring daily glucose levels with a portable glucose meter. For research, we selected animals with a glucose level > 11.1 mmol/L. We monitored the body weight of rats. On the 40th day of the study, we withdrew the animals from the experiment by decapitation. We selected the tissue for research, namely skeletal muscles and kidneys. In samples of the tissue homogenates, we measured the activity of antioxidant enzymes and the content of lipid peroxide oxidation products. As a result of our research, we found that the products of lipid peroxide oxidation and glutathione peroxidase activity increased in skeletal muscle of animals with diabetes mellitus. The activity of glutathione reductase, catalase, superoxide dismutase, and the content of reduced glutathione decreased at the same time. In the kidneys of diabetic rats, the activity of glutathione peroxidase, glutathione reductase, catalase and content of lipid hydroperoxides increased but the activity of superoxide dismutase and the content of reduced glutathione decreased. The addition of chromium citrate to the diet of animals in amounts 0.1 and 0.2 μg/mL led to the suppression of oxidative stress. The activity of catalase, glutathione peroxidase and the content of lipid hydroperoxides, TBA-positive substances decreased. Also, the activity of superoxide dismutase increased with the addition of chromium citrate. These results indicate normalization of antioxidant defense in the skeletal muscle and kidneys of experimental rats with experimental diabetes given chromium citrate in the amount 0.1 mg/mL of water.

Synthetic water-soluble phenolic antioxidants are known anti-inflammatory chemicals, some of them were shown to induce components of antioxidative defense enzymes NADPH:quinone oxidoreductase (NQO1) and glutathione-S-transferase (GST) via activation of Nrf2 pathway. Our experimental in vivo models have demonstrated an increase of both gstp1 and nqo1 expression in the liver of mice treated with novel organosulfur phenolic compounds TS-12, TS-13, TS-14. Both expression and activity of GSTP1 was dependent on the distance of active thiosulfonate group in para-position from the benzene ring of the above antioxidants. The increase of nqo1 and gstp1 gene expression was mediated by the antioxidant-binding response element (ARE). Our results revealed the role of Nrf2/ARE-dependent transcription regulation in response to the new phenolic antioxidants and suggested possible strategy to improve antioxidative properties of synthetic phenolic compounds.
