With growing technological advancements, demands for the industry with skilled and equipped workforce are proportionately rising. While this match between curricular offerings in academia and needs in the industry has been addressed in many countries across the globe through initiatives such as the K-12 educational system, some countries like the Philippines have only started its adoption. In the Philippines’ early adoption of the K-12 educational system, several concerns have been raised regarding its implementation, mainly, the mismatch between coursework offered in Philippine K-12 educational institutions with industry demands. With such outcomes, it is necessary to determine the status of the K-12 educational system in the Philippines. This paper attempts to shed light on such concerns by evaluating the performance of the K-12 students using a standardized approach. The Scholastic Abilities Test for Adults, a standardized test for measuring the academic competence of adults, is used in this study to measure scholastic abilities. The descriptive analyses made in this paper may aid in the development of more robust strategy frameworks for positioning the current K-12 educational system to global and industry demands. Moreover, the results obtained in this study would aid stakeholders in overseeing strategies that would address current gaps in the K-12 educational system of the country.

This research evaluated the extent of students' affective beliefs towards mathematics at Southern Leyte State University (SLSU), Sogod, Southern Leyte, Philippines as the basis for a Mathematical Disposition Intervention Plan. The study employed descriptive research as the investigation centers on the extent of the students' affective beliefs towards mathematics using a random sampling and Slovin's formula in the determination of the respondents. The quantitative data were treated using frequency, simple percentage, weighted mean, and the Mann-Whitney U-test. The investigation uncovered that there was no significant mean difference in the affective beliefs between male and female respondents. It is concluded that affective beliefs had indeed influenced the mathematical disposition of the students. Albeit, the investigation was answered. Still, it is recommended that future studies shall be made to scrutinize other confounding variables that may cause the students to dislike the subject matter.

Students' accomplishment in mathematics is a component of their home condition, attitudes towards the discipline, and curriculum that clarify varieties in students' achievement. The study determined the attitudes and academic achievement of students who are recipients of Conditional Cash Transfer (CCT) towards mathematics in a public national high school, Bohol, Philippines. It utilized the descriptive research to gather data on the achievement and attitude of students towards mathematics. The 112 respondents answered a standardized survey questionnaire, Attitudes toward Mathematics Inventory (ATMI) constructed, which contains self-confidence, value, enjoyment, and motivation. The gathered data were statistically treated using frequency, simple percentage, and Pearson r. The study revealed that respondents fairly performed in their achievement in math. Also, it found out that the students' attitudes have a significant relationship with their achievement in mathematics. The study concluded that the students' attitudes towards mathematics have a more significant impact on affecting their academic achievement. The researchers recommend that teachers should be developed and enhanced the self-confidence of students in mathematics by involving them in class discussions and interactions through facilitating in any means.

Teaching and understanding mathematics is a significant concern in any educational system. Largish efforts are made by various researchers to find out the causes of students' performance in the subject. Despite every one of these endeavors issues still, endure. The researchers used a descriptive-correlational design to gather data through an adopted survey tool for study habits and attitudes. The study was conducted at the Cebu Technological University San Francisco Campus, Cebu, Philippines. The respondents were the 52 Education students who were enrolled in the mathematics program; they answered the survey of study habits and attitudes. The gathered data were treated using frequency, simple percentage, weighted mean, Pearson r, and t-test. It was found out that there is a significant positive high correlation between the study orientations of the students considering their academic performance in terms of their Graded Point Average (GPA) in Mathematics subjects. It was concluded that the study orientations of students differ. The researchers recommend conducting a further study on the effectiveness of the developed research-based study strategies.
