The article substantiates the experimental program of the formation of future physical culture teachers' readiness for professional activity at school. The level of the students' motivation for physical and health care activities was found out; the level of physical fitness of students was examined; the levels of activity component formation of the students were determined. The investigation was conducted in Zhytomyr Ivan Franko State University in 2016-2018. 364 students of the faculty of physical education took part in the investigation. The students were tested through the next exercises: for male students-100-m race, pull-ups, 3000-m race; for female students-100-m race, push-ups, 2000-m race. Research methods: conceptual and comparative analysis, structural and systematic analysis, synthesis, generalization, testing, questionnaire survey, observation, experiment, statistical analysis. At the end of the experiment, the level of physical qualities was found to be significantly better (p˂0.001) among the students of EG, in comparison to CG. It is determined that the number of the students of EG who have a high level of the activity component of the future physical culture teachers' readiness is increased at the end of the experiment comparing to CG, that proves the efficiency of the experimental program.
The level and dynamics of students' physical health during the 1 st and the 2 nd years of studying at a Ukrainian higher educational institution are investigated in this article, and the interrelation between the indicators of students' health and physical fitness is defined. Seventy-three students of Zhytomyr National Agroecological University (38 male and 35 female students) took part in the investigation. The level of the students' physical health was evaluated according to the methodology of Professor Apanasenko based on the anthropometry indicators (body weight and lengths, lung capacity, wrist power) and the state of the cardiovascular system (heart rate, blood pressure, heart rate recovery). It has been determined that the physical health level of both male and female students did not improve during the 1 st and the 2 nd years of studying; more than 80% of the students (both men and women) have below middle and low levels of health; the overall points are measured by 2.31-3.27 points. It indicates the lack of the efficiency of the current system of physical education at Ukrainian higher educational institutions and the necessity of the search for the means of its improvement. The correlation analysis defined an authentic interrelation (p<0.05) between the students' physical fitness level and the indicators of their health. Most of the authentic correlation connections are defined due to the results in the endurance and power exercises.
Introduction: The level of health and physical fitness of the students of Ukrainian higher educational institutions has worsened in recent years. It conditions the search for effective solutions to this problem and determines the significance of the investigation. The aim: To investigate the level of physical development and functional state of the students of agricultural educational institutions during study. Materials and methods: The investigation was conducted in Zhytomyr National Agroecological University in 2016–2018. Seventy three students (38 male and 35 female students) took part in the investigation. The level of physical development and functional state of students was defined according to the next tests: body length, body weight, wrist dynamometry, lung capacity, heart rate, systolic and diastolic blood pressure. The level of students’ physical health was examined according to the methodology by G. L. Apanasenko and determined the interrelation of the levels of physical health of the students of different genders during the investigation. Results: It is determined that the majority of the students’ investigated indicators are not improved during the first and the second years of study (p>0.05). The level of the students’ physical health remained unchanged during study. Moreover, the health level of both male and female students is rated as low during all stages of the investigation. Сonclusions: The conducted analysis proves the necessity of the current physical education system improvement at Ukrainian higher educational institutions in order to improve the students’ physical development and functional state, health and efficiency of the educational and future professional activity.
The aim is to carry out the analysis of the disease incidence of students and to scientifically substantiate the directions of improving health and fitness activity in the physical education of the students of special medical groups. Materials and methods: The study was conducted at Zhytomyr National Agroecological University in 1992-2019. The main pedagogical experiment involved 681 students (209 males and 472 females, aged 17-22). The research methods included theoretical methods (the analysis and synthesis of literary sources, the analysis of curricula, the assessment of the quality of classes with the students of special medical groups, the study and analysis of the medical cards of students); empirical methods (pedagogical observations, the methods of mathematical statistics). Results: The study determined that more than 57.6 % students of higher educational establishments of Ukraine had an unsatisfactory level of physical fitness, significant physical disabilities, diseases; from 10.9 to 20.5 % students had an insufficient level of physical fitness and significant health disorders; from 8.1 to 17.4 % students belonged to a special medical group; from 0.4 to 1.2 % students were exempt from sports and had chronic diseases and disabilities. Conclusions: The quality of the physical education process in special medical groups depends on the interconnection of all the components that affect its efficiency, including an outlook, motives, interests, the attitude of students to physical education and health-improving activities; the students’ desire to overcome their health disabilities; individual characteristics of students; the means, forms, methods, and principles of physical self-improvement; material and technical support of educational and health and fitness events.
The aim is to find out the role of motor activity in developing a healthy lifestyle of student youth in the process of physical education. Materials and methods: The study involved 647 students, aged 18-22. The research methods are the analysis and synthesis of the literature, analysis of curricula, programs, methodological support and quality of training, questionnaires, and the methods of mathematical statistics. Results: It is determined that the majority of the students had no need for a healthy lifestyle, the lack of knowledge in this area, low activity while performing the requirements of a healthy lifestyle, irrational organization of educational activities, bad habits and other factors that negatively affect their health. Сonclusions: The current system of physical education in the higher education institutions of Ukraine cannot change the attitude of students to a healthy lifestyle. The purpose of physical education, in addition to the formation of physical skills and development of students’ physical qualities, should be educational work aimed at forming a positive attitude towards a healthy lifestyle.
The article provides theoretical background for the stages of professional formation of a physical education teacher determined using fitness technologies. The article contains the analysis of scientific literature and normative documents that regulate professional readiness of a physical education teacher at a higher educational institution for innovative activity. Our work defines the following stages of professional formation of a physical education teacher using fitness technologies: the stage of adaptation, the stage of professionalization and the stage of professional mastery. Based on the conducted research, using fitness technologies, we established incompatibility of the professional readiness of physical education teachers at higher pedagogical educational institutions with the training activity.
Background:The influence of kettlebell lifting training on the development of cadets' power qualities during studies at Ukrainian higher military educational institutions is examined in the article. Also, a comparative analysis of the development of cadets' power qualities depending on their sports qualification in kettlebell lifting is conducted. Material and methods:The investigation of the development of cadets' power qualities was conducted according to the following tests: bar pull-ups, bar pullover, bar muscle up, parallel bars dips, complex power exercise, L-sit on parallel bars, holding the body in a horizontal position, back squat, bench press and barbell deadlift. Results:A reliably better level of the development of power qualities of cadets who were involved in kettlebell lifting training during studies was found in comparison with cadets who were involved in the current system of physical training, which proves the efficiency of kettlebell lifting exercises concerning the formation of graduates' physical preparation for professional activity. Conclusions:The research shows a necessity to implement kettlebell lifting to the physical training of cadets who are the future Ukrainian Armed Forces' officers in order to ensure high efficiency of their future professional activity.
Background: Despite the risk associated with nocturnal hypoglycemia (NH) there are only a few methods aiming at the prediction of such events based on intermittent blood glucose monitoring data. One of the first methods that potentially can be used for NH prediction is based on the low blood glucose index (LBGI) and suggested, for example, in Accu-Chek® Connect as a hypoglycemia risk indicator. On the other hand, nowadays there are other glucose control indices (GCI), which could be used for NH prediction in the same spirit as LBGI. In the present study we propose a general approach of combining NH predictors constructed from different GCI. Methods: The approach is based on a recently developed strategy for aggregating ranking algorithms in machine learning. NH predictors have been calibrated and tested on data extracted from clinical trials, performed in EU FP7-funded project DIAdvisor. Then, to show a portability of the method we have tested it on another dataset that was received from EU Horizon 2020-funded project AMMODIT. Results: We exemplify the proposed approach by aggregating NH predictors that have been constructed based on 4 GCI associated with hypoglycemia. Even though these predictors have been preliminary optimized to exhibit better performance on the considered dataset, our aggregation approach allows a further performance improvement. On the dataset, where a portability of the proposed approach has been demonstrated, the aggregating predictor has exhibited the following performance: sensitivity 77%, specificity 83.4%, positive predictive value 80.2%, negative predictive value 80.6%, which is higher than conventionally considered as acceptable. Conclusion: The proposed approach shows potential to be used in telemedicine systems for NH prediction.
