Este artigo aborda a questão social das desigualdades socioeconômicas no Brasil e seu impacto na organização das políticas públicas nas grandes cidades que interferem na atuação da Atenção Primária à Saúde (APS) no enfrentamento da COVID-19. Foca nas iniciativas surgidas no âmbito da sociedade e Estado valorizando a solidariedade social, a democracia participativa e as iniciativas comunitárias. Por fim, aponta as lições que a pandemia trouxe para o campo da APS e da Saúde Coletiva.
O acesso à internet, renda mínima e à segurança alimentar no contexto do coronavírus (COVID-19) evidenciam a fragilidade social. Neste contexto, um grupo de jovens comunicadores da cidade de Niterói no Rio de Janeiro foi mobilizado pela OSC BemTV Educação e Comunicação para compor um capaz de enfrentar as dificuldades de acesso à internet e construir coletivamente a checagem de informações, combate a notícias falsas, capilarização do acesso e fortalecimento das políticas e estratégias para conter a exponencialidade da contaminação comunitária.
As crianças e adolescentes em situação de rua, sujeitos historicamente excluídos, refugo humano de seres sobrantes, os sem lugar que não cabem na foto e nem na escola, passam ao largo das políticas educacionais. A partir de breve abordagem sócio-histórica sobre a produção da infância excluída no Brasil e da realidade vivenciada no projeto de extensão de uma universidade pública do estado do Rio de Janeiro, o propósito deste ensaio foi discutir e compreender como a educação formal (ou a ausência dela) marca a vida dessas crianças e adolescentes, tomando como referência a história de vida de uma jovem negra cuja primeira experiência de rompimento social e institucional foi com a escola. Afirma-se a urgência de relações sociais menos excludentes e desiguais para se viabilizar o acesso e permanência desta população na escola e seu direito à educação.
