Abstract. This experimental study aimed at investigating the effect of Problem Based Learning (PBL) and self-assessment (SA) on students' writing competency and selfregulated learning in Tabanan Regency. This research applied 2x2 factorial design. 96 students were selected as sample through random sampling. Data were collected by test (writing competency) and questionnaire (self-regulation). Students' writings were scored by analytical scoring rubric. The obtained data were analyzed statistically by MANOVA at 5% significance level. This research discovers: 1) there is a significant effect of PBL which occurs simultaneously and separately on students' writing competency and self-regulated learning, 2) there is a significant effect of SA which ocurs simultaneously and separately on students' writing competency and self-regulated learning, 3) there is a significant interaction between teaching model and assessment type on students' writing competency and self-regulated learning which occurs simultaneously, 4) there is no significant interaction between teaching model and assessment type on students' writing competency, and 5) there is a significant interaction between teaching model and assessment type on students' self-regulated learning. This research results implies that PBL and SA should be applied in instruction process as a way to improve the quality of students' writing competency and selfregulated learning.
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kebutuhan guru dan siswa SMK di Bangli terkait materi pembelajaran digital. Ini merupakan bagian dari studi Penelitian dan Pengembangan yang bertujuan untuk mengembangkan materi pembelajaran digital Bahasa Inggris untuk Pariwisata di Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan di Bangli. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan metode analisis deskriptif. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah lembar observasi, angket dan wawancara. Subyek penelitian ini adalah guru dan mahasiswa program studi pariwisata di Kabupaten Bangli. Berdasarkan analisis ditemukan bahwa terdapat 32 kompetensi dasar yang harus dikuasai oleh semua siswa dalam 3 (tiga) tahun studi di SMK, sehingga materi pembelajaran digital harus dikembangkan berdasarkan kompetensi dasar tersebut. Kompetensi dasar tersebut diajarkan di 3 (tiga) program studi, yaitu Traveling, Hoteliers, dan Culinary. Selain itu, pengembangan materi pembelajaran digital harus sesuai dengan kebutuhan guru dan siswa seperti 1) mudah diakses, 2) menarik secara visual, 3) bahasanya mudah dipahami, 4) mungkin dalam dwibahasa (Inggris dan Indonesia). , dan 5) memenuhi kriteria pengembangan materi pembelajaran digital untuk TEFL menurut Tomlinson (1998).
ABSTRAKPelajaran Bahasa Inggris dasar untuk siswa SD di desa Demulih merupakan pengabdian kepada masyarakat yang diselenggarakan pada masa Pandemi Covid-19. Mata pelajaran Bahasa Inggris sejatinya hanya merupakan pelajaran muatan lokal yang dimulai dari kelas 5 SD, yang hanya diberikan di beberapa sekolah. Tujuan dari pengabdian ini adalah untuk mengenalkan bahasa Inggris dasar kepada siswa SD, sebagai upaya membantu mereka untuk menghadapi komunikasi global dan persiapan menghadapi masa transisi ke sekolah menengah. Penyampaian Pelajaran Bahasa Inggris anak menggunakan metode Montessori yang merupakan metode pembelajaran yang memanfaatkan fasilitas dan media di lingkungan sekitar siswa. Siswa SD yang digunakan adalah siswa SD di desa Demulih, Kecamatan Susut, Kabupaten Bangli. Kegiatan PKM dilaksanakan selama 8 kali pertemuan dengan 4 tahap untuk setiap sesinya. Keberhasilan kegiatan ini dapat terlihat dari semangat siswa SD di desa Demulih yang selalu hadir dan selalu bertambah setiap pertemuannya, serta keaktifan mereka dalam berpartisipasi dalam kegiatan pembelajaran. Secara keseluruhan, pendampingan belajar Bahasa Inggris dasar mampu menumbuhkan dan membantu siswa SD dalam belajar Bahasa Inggris dasar di masa pandemi Covid-19. English subject are actually only role as local content lessons which is thought from grade 5 elementary school, which are only given in some schools. The main purposes of this community service are to introduce Basic English to elementary students, as an effort to help them face global communication and preparation for the transition to high school period. The way to deliver of English lesson to children uses Montessori method which is a learning method utilizes facilities and media in students’ environment. The elementary school students which is a object in this research were the students in Demulih Village, Susut District, Bangli Regency. This community service activity was done in 8 meetings, 4 stages for each meeting. The success indicators of this activity are the students always present and this increase from time to time in each meeting, as well as their participation in the learning activities. Overall, Basic Engliss Learning Assistance is able to grow and assist elementary students in learning basic English during the Covid-19 Pandemic. ABSTRAKPenyebaran virus covid 19 yang melanda dunia harus mengubah paradigma pendidikan yang sebelumnya di laksanakan secara tatap muka di sekolah berubah harus belajar secara mandiri dirumah. Tujuan belajar dirumah adalah untuk membatasi laju dan mencegah perkembangan virus covid 19. Kegiatan proses belajar di rumah memunculkan berbagai persoalan bagi anak-anak maupun orang tua, beberapa pelajaran yang harus diselesaikan oleh anak-anak tidak bisa dipahami secara baik. Harapan- anak-anak bisa dibantu belajar oleh orang tuanya masing-masing juga mengalami kendala akibat kurang pahamanya orang tua terhadap materi pembelajaran yang harus diselesaikan oleh anak-anak selama belajar di rumah. Masalah yang dihadapi oleh anak-anak maupun orang tua tim pecahkan dengan memberikan solusi melakukan pendampingan belajar dirumah. Tujuan dilaksanakan pendampingan belajar dirumah ialah untuk membantu anak-anak memahami materi serta membantu menyelesaikan tugas-tugas yang diberikan oleh gurunya untuk diselesaikan dirumah selama pembelajaran di lakukan dirumah. Pendampingan belajar dirumah disusun dengan metode secara langsung dilakukan ke rumah-rumah anak-anak yang berada di wilayah desa songan untuk memberiakan bantuan pembelajaran tambahan pada materi-materi yang tidak bisa di pahami oleh anak-anak. Pegabdian masyarakat berupa pendampingan belajar di rumah telah memberikan kontribusi yang positif kepada anak-anak yang berada di wilayah desa songan. Anak-anak maupun orang tuanya yang didampingi belajar oleh tim pegabdian sangat senang dengan ada kegiatan seperti ini serta merasa terbantu untuk memahami materi yang tidak bisa di pahami secara mandiri dirumah. Kata Kunci: sekolah dasar; pendampingan belajar;covid 19 ABSTRACTCovid-19 pandemic has drastically changed the education paradigm from face-to-face interaction at school to be learning independently at home. Learning at home is aimed at restricting the spread and rate of the Covid-19 virus. Learning at home has caused various problems for the students and parents. Some subjects could not be understood well by the students. The hope of the students being assisted by their parents could not also be realized since the parents did not understand the learning materials that should be learned by the students at home. This problem was overcome by the team with learning assistance at home. The goal of learning assistance at home was assisting the students to understand learning materials and finishing the assignments from the teachers during learning from home. Learning assistance at home was conducted with a direct method to be conducted at home in Songan Village to support additional learning sessions for the subjects that are not understood yet. This community service in form of learning assistance has positively contributed to the students in Songan Village. Both the students and parents were happy to get this learning assistance since they were helped to understand the learning materials from learning at home independently.
