SrBi 2 Ta 2 O 9 ) 1−x (Bi 3 TiNbO 9 ) x ((SBT) 1−x (BTN) x ) bulk ceramic was fabricated by the conventional solid state reaction. The samples were characterized in terms of the structural, dielectric, ac conductivity, and ferroelectric properties. The solid solution samples exhibited improved electrical properties compared to end members SBT and BTN. The Curie temperature of the solid solution was found to increase linearly with increasing BTN content. The solid solution samples exhibited lower conductivity than the end members SBT and BTN. The solid solution showed higher remanent polarization, but higher coercive field than SBT. The present results indicate that the (SBT) 1−x (BTN) x solid solution may be a useful SBT-based material for FRAM applications.
Absolute efficiency of ZnCdS:Ag screens excited by an electron beamThe absolute x-ray efficiency of (ZnCd)S: Ag phosphor screens was measured under fluoroscopy conditions as a function of x-ray tube voltage and for different screen weights. The screens were prepared by sedimentation. Two types of grain size were used, i.e., 2-3 and 10 JA-m. The authors calculated the matching factor of some phosphor-photocathode combinations.
A theoretically based calculation of the modulation transfer function is performed for phosphor screens excited by x-rays. It is assumed that the screens are of compact material so that scattering of the light generated can be neglected. The absorption of both x-rays and light in the phosphor material is taken into account.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
