Objectives: to evaluate the morbidity and mortality profile and factors associated with death due to severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) by COVID-19 in pregnant and postpartum women. Methods: this is a quantitative and retrospective research that analyzed the SIVEP-gripe Database (Influenza Epidemiological Surveillance Information System), from 01/01/2020 to 04/01/2021. All pregnant women and postpartum women diagnosed with SARS caused by COVID-19 in the State of Minas Gerais were included. After the descriptive analysis of the hospitalizations profile, the association between different exposure variables and the occurrence of death was evaluated. Results: of the 227 records obtained, 94.3% required hospitalization. Among hospitalizations in the Intensive Care Unit, 29.8% used invasive ventilatory support. Fifteen deaths were recorded. The most frequent clinical manifestations were: cough and fever; the predominant comorbidities were cardiovascular disease and diabetes mellitus. The variables “ICU stay”, “use of ventilatory support” and “heart disease” were associated with the occurrence of deaths. Conclusions: hospitalization was necessary for most pregnant women with SARS and the presence of previous heart disease increased the risk of death. Knowing the SARS morbidity and mortality profile is important in the definition of public health strategies aimed at reducing the impacts of COVID-19 during pregnancy and the puerperium.

Objective: to describe socio-demographic and economic characteristics, lifestyle, clinical manifestations, use of medicationsand monitoring of adults with sickle-cell disease. Methods: a descriptive study with quantitative approach, made with 20adults, registered in a Hematology and Hemotherapy Center, using, for data collection, interviews in the participant’s homeand medical records. In order to have the database, the EpiDatae analysis software through statistical program was used.Results: most of the population consisted of women, married, with complete high school, which used exclusively the UnifiedHealth System. The average age was 30.6 years, and 90.0% (95% CI 68.3-98.8) were black. All of them reported painful crisesand fatigue. They used folic acid daily 35.0% (95% CI 15.4-59.2). Conclusion: the implications of sickle-cell disease could bemitigated through primary, secondary and tertiary health care, according to the needs of those adults.

RESUMOObjetivo: Analisar a cobertura vacinal contra influenza de idosos, gestantes e crianças nos 853 municípios de Minas Gerais. Método: Estudo ecológico que teve como unidades de análise os municípios do estado de Minas Gerais. Foram calculadas as coberturas vacinais contra influenza, utilizando-se a base de dados do Programa Nacional de Imunização. Os dados foram analisados no software estatístico SPSS® 17.0 por meio de análise descritiva e testes de associação. Resultados: O estado de Minas Gerais alcançou a meta mínima de cobertura para os três grupos estudados, porém, a análise por município mostrou que 316 (32%) deles não atingiram a meta para gestante, 17 (2%) para crianças e 41 (4,8%) para idosos. Associações das variáveis de contexto (cobertura da estratégia de saúde da família e porte populacional) com o alcance da meta mínima da cobertura vacinal não foram evidenciadas. Conclusão: Minas Gerais atingiu a cobertura vacinal contra influenza, contudo percebe-se baixa homogeneidade da cobertura no grupo gestante e crianças.Palavras chave: Vacinas contra influenza, cobertura vacinal, avaliação em saúde, enfermagem em saúde comunitária. COVID-19, a disease caused by a coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2), has worried health authorities in Brazil and worldwide because of its high infectivity and rapid spread. Within this context, health care workers are at greater risk of infection for being in close contact with patients, which is inherent to their work activities. To reduce the risk, protective measures must be adopted and personal protective equipment is essential. However, the process of removing personal protective equipment, named doffing, is as important as its correct use and can be a source of contamination for workers, especially when equipment is lacking in the market and lifespan is increased. Therefore, this review aimed to discuss the process of doffing personal protective equipment and its correct sequence based on data available in the literature.

Fundamentos: O sistema de saúde brasileiro é embasado nos princípios estabelecidos na Constituição Federal, que incluem igualdade, universalidade, equidade e participação popular, em um modelo de saúde totalmente gratuito. O Brasil vive um grande desafio para ofertar assistência de qualidade para toda população. Muitas vezes é necessário solicitar à justiça um suporte para conseguir acesso a saúde pública. Entre os processos judiciais envolvendo questões de saúde, a maioria são referentes ao fornecimento de medicamentos. Dentre os medicamentos solicitados, destaca-se os anticoagulantes orais diretos (DOACs), os quais estudos apontam que apresentam melhor segurança e eficácia similar em relação à varfarina, medicamento padronizado no SUS para o tratamento do tromboembolismo venoso e fibrilação atrial. Objetivo: Avaliar o perfil dos pacientes e das solicitações dos DOACs atendidos por via judicial. Métodos: Estudo documental descritivo realizado em Divinópolis/MG a partir de todos os processos julgados com parecer favorável pela justiça referentes à solicitação dos DOACs. A coleta de dados foi realizada em três fontes secundárias: os processos judiciários, prontuários dos pacientes nas unidades básicas de saúde e no Sistema de Informações em Saúde. Resultados: Foram incluídos no estudo um total de 74 processos referentes a solicitação dos DOACs no município de Divinópolis-MG. Observou-se que 74,3% dos indivíduos eram do sexo feminino, com média de idade de 70 anos. O diagnóstico mais observado foi a fibrilação atrial (36,5%). Cerca de 52,7% dos médicos registraram que houve tentativa terapêutica com varfarina antes da introdução dos DOACs e a comodidade (24,3%) foi a justificativa mais utilizada por optar pelos DOACs seguida por dificuldade em controlar a RNI (20,3%). Outro dado encontrado foi que 25,7% dos pacientes nunca obtiveram na farmácia do SUS o medicamento solicitado por via judicial. Conclusão: Concluímos que a demanda judicial que afoga tanto o sistema judiciário como o sistema de saúde, poderia ser evitada se fossem seguidas as recomendações da Comissão Nacional de Incorporação de Tecnologias no Sistema Único de Saúde para estabelecer a distribuição dos insumos de saúde. Além disso, nos processos judiciais faltam informações importantes para auxiliar o juiz a emitir um parecer e são baseadas, na maioria das vezes, em apenas uma opinião médica.

OBJECTIVE: To describe the epidemiological profile of hospitalizations of children due to meningococcal disease in Bahia and its macro-regions, estimating morbidity and mortality due to the disease. METHODS: This is an ecological, time-series study carried out through the Hospital Information System (SIH/DATASUS), from 2011 to 2020. The variables of interest were gender, age group, ethnicity, character and care regime, and outcome, grouped by year and macro-region in Bahia. RESULTS: There were 431 hospitalizations of children between 0 and 14 years of age due to meningococcal infection, with a predominance of the age group of 0 to 4 years, male, mixed-race, attended on an emergency basis and in a public service regime. Of the hospitalized patients, 91.4% (n=394) were discharged and 8.6% (n=37) died. There was higher mortality and lethality among patients aged between 0 to 4 years. Among Bahia’s macro-regions, the East and Central-North had the highest and lowest number of cases of the disease, respectively, while the East and the Far South had the highest mortalities and fatalities. CONCLUSION: The epidemiological profile of meningococcal disease in Bahia follows the global and national trend, with a predominance among boys, brown, aged between 0 to 4 years, whose prevalence, mortality and lethality stand out among the age groups studied. Taking into account the endemic status of meningococcal disease in the state, these results can support and direct specific strategies to combat meningococcus, reinforcing the need for constant preventive actions and epidemiological surveillance, with the establishment of health promotion strategies and better applicability of resources. for the eradication of the disease.
