The development and use of diagnostic tests in the form of multiple choice four levels in biology learning are still lacking. This study aims to develop a valid and reliable four-tier multiple-choice test instrument to identify the conception profile of high school students on the concept of transport across membranes. The research method is in the form of development research by adapting the Kilic and Saglam models which consist of three stages, namely defining content, obtaining information on student misunderstandings, and developing tests. The research instruments used were validation sheets, test instruments, and interview sheets. Descriptive statistical analysis techniques were used to analyze the data in this study. The results showed that 15 items developed were declared valid and the reliability coefficient of the test was 0.82, including the very reliable category. Thus, it can be concluded that the four-tier multiple-choice test instrument developed has met the validity and reliability requirements to identify the conception profile of high school students about the concept of transport across membranes. The four-tier multiple-choice test developed can be used by high school teachers as an accurate test to identify the conception profile of their students because it can distinguish between students who understand the concept, do not understand the concept, or who experience misconceptions about the concept of transport across membranes.
Enrichment test of omega-3 fatty acids from tuna canning waste oil in Bitung North Sulawesi Indonesia have been conducted. The purpose of this study was to utilize tuna canning waste oil and enriched the concentration of omega-3 fatty acids with urea crystallization. The results showed that the characteristics of fish oil quality of tuna canning waste 0.9% moisture content, free fatty acids (FFA) 3.4%, copper (Cu) 0.1 ppm, iron (Fe) 2.5 ppm and phosphorus (P) 32,5 ppm still meets IFOMA quality standards Liquid fatty acid profile contains total SFA 33.7%, 27.6% PUFA, 1.4% omega-6 fatty acids, omega-3 fatty acids 25.9%, EPA 4.2% and DHA 21.4%, MUFA 18.8%, omega-9 fatty acids 13.9%, while concentrations of omega-3 fatty acids contained a total SFA of 7.7%, PUFA 70.9%, omega-6 fatty acids 0.8%, omega-3 fatty acids 70.1%, EPA 4.2% and DHA 21.4%, MUFA 2.7%, omega-9 fatty acids 1.5%. The urea crystallization process increases the levels of polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs) such as omega-3 (EPA and DHA.), the enrichment rate is 2.7 times.
The application of tuba root bioactive extract (Derris elliptica L.) as a natural insecticide on the Crocidolomia binotalis caterpillar on mustard plants (Brassica juncea L.) was carried out. The test results showed that there were significant differences in antifeedant activity of the Crocidolomia binotalis caterpillar on mustard (Brassica juncea L.) plants at various concentrations. The research was carried out in several stages, starting from the tubal root extraction stage, phytochemical testing, preparation of caterpillar tests, testing of antifeedant activity. As the treatment is the level of methanol concentration of 50 ppm, 100 ppm, 500 ppm and 1000 ppm. The parameter observed was the percentage of Feeding Reduction (FR). The test results showed that the best antifeedant activity of Crocidolomia binotalis was at concentrations of 500 ppm and 1000 ppm because it was able to inhibit feeding power or Feeding Reduction of test caterpillars by 15.35% and 32.33%, was able to inhibit the feeding activity of Crocidolomia binotalis.
This study aims to develop a valid and reliable biological macromolecules three-tier test (BM-3T) so that it is feasible to identify misconceptions of prospective science teachers. This research is a type of research and development by following the research design by Kiliç and Sağlam, which consists of three stages, namely defining content, obtaining information on student misconceptions, and developing tests. Research data was obtained through interviews, validation, and test trials. The subjects in this study consisted of 14 prospective science teachers in the first semester in the 2021/2022 academic year at the Universitas Negeri Manado. The data analysis carried out includes the analysis of test validity, test reliability analysis, and test difficulty level analysis. The results showed that the 16 test items developed were declared valid, the test reliability coefficient of 0.78 was in the reliable category, and the level of difficulty of BM-3T shows an average value of 0.44, which is included in the moderate category. Therefore, BM-3T is appropriate to identify misconceptions of prospective science teachers on the topic of biological macromolecules.
Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD terhadap hasil belajar siswa pada materi ciri-ciri makhluk hidup. Proses pembelajaran melalui model kooperatif STAD. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di SMP Negeri 6 Baturapa Tahun Ajaran 2017-2018. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VII yang terdiri 3 kelas. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan secara acak dan dipilih 2 kelas dengan jumlah masing-masing 25 siswa, kelas VIIA eksperimen dan kelas VIIB sebagai kelas kontrol. Data hasil belajar siswa dari kedua model pembelajaran diperoleh dari pretest dan posttest. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pada uji perbedaan dua rerata (uji-t) pada taraf nyata 0,05 diperoleh thitung = 2,52679 > ttabel = 1,67722 sehingga menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata hasil belajar siswa yang diajar menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD lebih tinggi dibandingkan rata-rata hasil belajar siswa yang diajar menggunakan model konvensional. Kesimpulan dalam penelitian ini terdapat pengaruh model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD terhadap hasil belajar siswa pada kelas VII SMP Negeri 6 Baturapa khususnya pada materi ciri-ciri makhluk hidup.
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tingkat motivasi belajar siswa kelas VII SMP Anugerah Tondano pada pembelajaran IPA di era pandemi Covid-19. Penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian kuantitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Subjek dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 12 siswa kelas VII. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini berupa angket motivasi belajar siswa yang berisi delapan indikator tentang motivasi belajar siswa pada pembelajaran IPA di era pandemi Covid-19. Data penelitian dikumpulkan menggunakan teknik angket, sedangkan teknik analisis data menggunakan statistik deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dari total 12 siswa sebagai subjek penelitian terdapat 1 siswa yang memiliki motivasi belajar sangat tinggi, 2 siswa memiliki motivasi belajar tinggi, 6 siswa memiliki motivasi belajar sedang, 2 siswa memiliki motivasi belajar rendah, dan 1 siswa memiliki motivasi belajar sangat rendah. Berdasarkan penelitian yang telah dilakukan, peneliti menyimpulkan bahwa motivasi belajar siswa kelas VII SMP Anugerah Tondano pada pembelajaran IPA di era pandemi Covid-19 termasuk pada kategori motivasi belajar sedang dengan persentase sebesar 76%.
Proses pembelajaran IPA saat ini masih terfokus pada guru dimana guru belum menggunakan pendekatan pembelajaran yang membuat siswa aktif sehingga siswa merasa bosan ketika belajar IPA dan berpengaruh terhadap hasil belajar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pendekatan pembelajaran Sains Teknologi Masyarakat (STM) terhadap hasil belajar IPA materi pencemaran lingkungan. Metode yang digunakan quasi experimental design dengan desain penelitian nonequivalent control group design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VII yang terdiri dari 3 kelas. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan teknik random sampling dan terambil 2 kelas dengan jumlah masing-masing 20 siswa, kelas VIIA sebagai kelas kontrol dan kelas VIIB sebagai kelas eksperimen. Pengambilan data dilakukan dengan memberikan pretest sebelum proses pembelajaran dilaksanakan dan posttest setelah proses pembelajaran dilaksanakan. Hasil penelitian diperoleh berupa nilai rata-rata hasil posttest kelas eksperimen adalah 84 sedangkan untuk kelas kontrol nilai rata-rata hasil posttest adalah 70,75. Setelah di uji hipotesis (uji-t) diperoleh hasil thitung = 8,99 > ttabel = 1,685 maka H0 ditolak dan Ha diterima. Sehingga disimpulkan bahwa rata-rata hasil belajar siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran dengan pendekatan STM lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan rata-rata hasil belajar siswa yang menggunakan pendekatan pembelajaran konvensional.
