Critical thinking and computational thinking are important abilities to have in this century. The reality showed that learning of critical thinking and computational thinking have not been optimally accommodated. This study aims to analyze the learning needs in improving the critical thinking and computational thinking skills of elementary school students. The research subjects consisted of 144 grade IV students and 38 grade IV elementary school teachers spread across 12 districts in Kebumen Regency. Data collection was carried out using a questionnaire on student and teacher needs as well as semi-structured interviews with grade IV teachers. The data analysis technique was carried out in a descriptive qualitative manner. The results of data analysis showed that 65.7% of teachers wanted interactive multimedia and 77.1% agreed that meaningful learning could be created using the inquiry method. Based on these needs, the media to be developed is a combination of interactive multimedia and inquiry method namely inquiry based interactive multimedia.
Mathematics is essential to be mastered by students because it can help students to solve various problems in daily life. Students are anxious and afraid to take mathematics lessons. Augmented Reality (AR)-assisted storybook blends fantasy and reality and is developed to see the impact on students 'mathematics anxiety. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of AR-assisted storybooks on students' anxiety in mathematics learning. This study uses a quantitative approach with the type of research quasi-experiment and with the design of the pretest-posttest control group design. The study sample includes 348 fourth grade students in elementary school in Yogyakarta. The sampling technique used is the cluster random sampling technique. Independent t-test techniques analyzed data. The results showed that the sig value 2-tailed in the independent t-test was 0.00 (<0.05). Thus, it can be stated that AR-Assisted storybook has a positive and significant effect on students' mathematics learning anxiety.
Natural Science is an elementary school subject that requires students to organize ideas and concepts about the natural world gained from experiences through a series of scientific processes such as investigating, composing, and presenting ideas. The high complexity causes many cases of learning difficulties. This study aims to diagnose the learning difficulties that occur on 5th-grade elementary school students. The research was conducted in Muhammadiyah Pakem Elementary School, Sleman, Yogyakarta Special Regency. The subjects were 29 of 5th-grade elementary students. Data collection techniques were interviews, tests, and documentation. Data analysis techniques were descriptive statistic as a quantitative analysis and interactive model as a qualitative analysis. The learning difficulties were diagnosed by describing the students who were identified having learning difficulties; localizing the difficulties; and determining the factors that cause learning difficulties. The results showed that the difficulties experienced by students were in basic competence 1.1-1.5 (human blood circulation organs). The average percentage of students' learning difficulties in Basic Competence 1.1 was 48%; Basic Competence 1.2 was 51.1%; Basic Competence 1.3 was 57.6%; Basic Competence. 1.4 is 64.7%; and Basic Competence 1.5 is 53.7%. The highest percentage of learning difficulties was in Basic Competence 1.4 (identifying human circulatory organs). It was caused by the students' low attention and motivation to learn natural science, the imprecise teaching methods, the parents' attention, and the negative influence of mass media.
