Initiatives taken to improve the teachinglearning (TL) process in large classes at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, Skudai, were identified primarily to significantly increase the engineering students' retention rates. The active TL strategies used are with approved course files as a common reference for all lecturers teaching the same subject. Two core subjects offered provide the necessary foundation for Radio Frequency and Microwave Engineering subjects. Internal audits are required under Quality Management System to be carried out at planned intervals to determine whether the TL process is effectively implemented and maintained. In this paper, the extent of the effectiveness of internal audits carried out on the active learning practices as an effort of continuous improvement in teaching and learning is presented. The use of audit reports generated in value-adding to the TL strategy was examined. It was found that effective audits contribute in ensuring continuous improvement in microwave engineering education.
This study investigates students' perception towards the quality of service delivered by the Perpustakaan Tun Abdul Razak (PTAR) I & II, of Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Malaysia. It particularly examines students' perception towards service quality using the five SERVQUAL dimensions. Instrument adopted is a 23-item test to measure students' perception on the five different dimensions and questionnaire items were analyzed using the Rasch Measurement Model. A number 120 final year students from four different programs participated in this survey. Results of the analysis shows that the likelihood of the user is satisfied with the service rendered stands at some 84.16% chance where the overall level of satisfaction is μ person = +1.67logit [P( ) = 0.8416]. In addition, Rasch analysis points that items need to be reviewed and instrument construct validity call for further refinement.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
