ABSTRACT (11 PTS, NEGRITO)This paper evaluated the accessibility and mobility of a philanthropic hospital in Sao Paulo. The objective was to verify and to evaluate the adequacy parameters of the common areas used by patients, focusing on accessibility and mobility. There were performed methods for this assessment and applied the walkthrough, a questionnaire and checklists to evaluate the positive and negative aspects of the building. By comparing the results it was possible to assess the conditions of accessibility and mobility of the site. This research will bring contributions to the achievement of hospital's space quality, reflecting the performance and the architectural quality.
Brazil is characterized by an accelerated demographic transition, resulting from the fall in fertility and mortality levels, and the significant increase in the proportion of adults and the elderly, causing changes in the age structure of the population, with important implications for individuals, families and society. Due to this change, there was also an increase in the demand for social security, assistance and health services. These services are experiencing a notable growth and may affect the financing structure of public policies, income and expenses of social security. Thinking about the quality of life of these individuals, the term ambience appears, which is characterized by the influence of the built environment on human behavior, facilitating the promotion and recovery of users' health. In this sense, the study proposed an instrument to assess the hospital's physical structure, in order to provide the planning and adaptation of hospital environments to the needs of users, thus contributing to safety, comfort and independence. The methodology used, based on the theoretical foundations that supported this study, was considered adequate, as it allowed the inclusion of specific aspects to the hospital environment. The objectives of this project are: To propose a methodology adapted for inspection of hospital environments in compliance with the current standards of accessibility and mobility, to carry out the validation of the proposed method in order to support the assessment of the quality of inspection of hospital environments and describe the possibilities of contribution of the instrument in the inspection of hospital environments in three institutions with different characteristics. For data collection, a specific instrument was used. Data analysis was performed through descriptive and content analysis. It is considered that the final version of the instrument was compatible and can be adapted in order to innovate in the inspection of hospital environments, meeting the current standards of accessibility and mobility. The validated instrument showed equivalence with the original, it pointed to be reliable, because the items of the instrument are related and complementary to each other and it is valid, as it is able to measure the object to which it is proposed. Possibility of using an innovative instrument by researchers as a data collection tool, which provided a higher quality in the inspection of hospital environments, the results of which may serve as subsidies for managers to implement improvements in health services. The study collaborated with other instruments and tools for inspection of hospital environments due to the evidence of scarcity of literature.
