AbstractThis theoretical and reflective study is presented about the identity building of the infantile educator and it belongs to the Doctoral thesis titled "Actions and believes of the infantile educator". What interests here is to understand the world that constitutes the professional identity of the infantile educator (EI), which entails to enter upon two main questions: What does being an infantile educator mean? and How is her identity built? Answering these two questions is not easy, not only because of the teachers´ particular characteristics, but also because of the variety and complexity which cohabits the first years of children. What is stated here is presented from the experience in the teachers´ training to intend to make it useful for the conceptual and theoretical building of the infantile education field which although has shown some advances still requires more developments.
