Family Health Support Centers (NASF) were created in Brazil to increase the case-resolution capacity of primary healthcare. Prior to their implementation in the West Side of the city of São Paulo, Brazil, a series of workshops were held for primary healthcare professionals to prepare a proposal for such centers. Hermeneutic analysis was used to study the transcribed material. The thematic categories were: role, constitution, and functioning of the NASF, relationship with family health teams, and interdisciplinarity. The participants' expected the NASF to be an empowering device for comprehensiveness of care, intervening in an existing culture of unnecessary referrals while fostering linkage with other levels of care. The participants also expected the NASF to contribute to the discussion on health professionals' training and stimulating reflection with policymakers on health indicators based exclusively on the number of consultations. These indicators fail to reflect the impact on the services' activities and the quality of care offered to the population in the coverage area.
This study seeks to reflect on a philosophical basis in relation to an artbased humanization project that was developed by the professionals at a primary healthcare unit. The "reception" at this service refers to the sector dedicated to receiving people who are looking for attendance but without an appointment previously scheduled. In order to restore the meaning of "welcoming", as disseminated through the National Humanization Program, these professionals created a project that aimed to modify the ambiance of the waiting room so as to promote symbolic transformation of that space such that this could enable qualification of the interactions that take place there. Investigation of this phenomenon demonstrated that art had properties capable of involve individuals in an experience that could promote creation of new meanings for the waiting room.
Anti‐B lectins were extracted from the dried and aged seed cover (aril) of an Evonymus variety. After 20 months of aging these lectins resembled the best hitherto described. They were specifically inhibited by B substance of human and horse origin.
Summary The extract of Crotalaria mucronata seeds contains anti‐A + B agglutinins and detects, like that of a Phaseolus lunatus variant, considerable differences among B samples which by both lectins are put in the same order of sensitivity. Variation is continuous, all B samples becoming positive under suitable conditions while O samples remain negative. The sensitivity of B cells to those lectins seems to be a stable individual property. Unequal and smaller variations within the B group are disclosed by human anti‐B serum, and others again, by anti‐H from Ulex europaeus.
