<p>Los estudiantes de bachillerato son un grupo vulnerable ante el consumo de sustancias: legales e ilegales. Algunas estrategias de afrontamiento funcional al estrés han sido reportadas como factores de protección ante el consumo de sustancias en jóvenes. El objetivo de este trabajo fue identificar la relación existente de estrategias de afrontamiento (funcionales y no funcionales) y el consumo de sustancias en una muestra de 116 jóvenes estudiantes (consumidores y no consumidores) de la Ciudad de México expuestos a estrés; elegidos mediante un muestreo no probabilístico e intencional. Los instrumentos empleados fueron: AUDIT; Fagerström, ASSIST y el Cuestionario de Sucesos de Vida para adolescentes. Un análisis de regresión logística mostró que la búsqueda de apoyo social en padres OR(20.71; 95% IC[2.20,195.04]; solución de problemas OR(11.51; 95% IC[1.31,100.98]; ofrecer ayuda OR(30.91; 95% IC[1.32,721.64]; y reflexionar OR(24.78; 95% IC[2.52,243.52] se asocian al incremento de la probabilidad de no consumir drogas. El entrenamiento en dichas habilidades de afrontamiento como parte de intervenciones dirigidas a jóvenes estudiantes que inician el consumo de sustancias y que además han estado expuestos a estrés podría ser un acierto en cuanto a detener la progresión de la conducta adictiva en escenarios escolares.</p>

Diversos estudios destacan la elevada prevalencia de problemas internalizados y externalizados (PIyE) en la niñez, así como sus repercusiones en la competencia académica (CA). En México existe poca evidencia empírica al respecto, por lo que resulta relevante analizar esta relación para contar con indicadores que guíen el diseño de intervenciones. El objetivo del trabajo fue comparar los puntajes obtenidos en indicadores de CA en tres grupos de niños con niveles diferenciados de PIyE. Se trabajó con 314 niños con edades entre 8 y 12 años de primarias públicas, 51% niñas y 49% niños. Se aplicaron cuatro instrumentos: Cuestionario de Problemas Internalizados y Externalizados (CPIEN), Ficha Socio-demográfica para Niños, Escala de Inteligencia Coloreada Raven, y Pruebas Académicas. Se realizó un estudio transversal de comparación de grupos. Las pruebas se aplicaron de manera grupal en los salones de clases. El análisis estadístico se realizó mediante el programa SPSS v.20. Se conformaron tres grupos en función de los niveles de PIyE, y se compararon las puntuaciones que cada grupo obtuvo en los indicadores de CA por medio del MANOVA. Los datos mostraron efectos significativos en escritura en los grupos de problemas internalizados (PI), y en lectura en los grupos de problemas externalizados (PE). Se discuten los resultados de la influencia de los PIyE sobre la CA.
La investigación sobre las relaciones de noviazgo en la adolescencia se ha visto frenada por diversos factores (Collins,2003). La mayor parte de estudios sobre el tema se ha realizado con población juvenil y/o anglosajona; además, los cambios en su concepción han generado pocos los instrumentos que sirven para evaluar el fenómeno del noviazgo en adolescentes, y sus diferentes elementos. Por tal motivo, el propósito de este estudio fue analizar psicométricamente el Inventario Multidimensional de Noviazgo para Adolescentes (IMNOV-A). Participaron voluntariamente 503 adolescentes, con una edad entre 12 y 18 años (M = 15.71; D.E. = 1.78), que habían experimentado una relación de noviazgo, por lo menos una vez en la vida. A partir del método propuesto por Reyes Lagunes y García (2008), el inventario quedó constituido por la Subescala de Significado del Noviazgo (53.81% de la varianza total explicada, α = .886), y la Subescala de Motivos del Noviazgo (55.52% de la varianza total explicada, α = .938). Los resultados obtenidos se analizan desde la literatura sobre el desarrollo adolescente y los cambios en sus relaciones interpersonales; entonces, el significado y los motivos del noviazgo obedecen a los objetivos de esta etapa: obtener una identidad (Nahoul & González, 2013) y satisfacer necesidades socio-afectivas (Rice, 2001). Con esto, se plantea una medición más eficaz y eficiente sobre estas dimensiones del noviazgo, lo que da pie a continuar con esta línea de investigación e identificar los factores psicosociales que se relacionan con este fenómeno presente en la vida de esta población.
