The purpose of this qualitative case study, carried out in two phases, is to systematize the learning experiences and expectations of older adults and their families as they face approaching retirement, in Guadalajara, Mexico, 2012. The strategy implemented was an educational preparation for retirement. Six adults had already retired, two were soon to be retired and eight family members were chosen for this study. Data were collected using semi-structured interviews and a SQA-E format. The educational strategy was an interactive conference. A phenomenological analysis was made of the experiences recorded. The naturalistic criterial evaluation of learning experiences and expectations was applied before and after the educational intervention. Through this intervention, participants were made conscious of their problems, expressed the desire to improve certain aspects of their lives and continued educational preparation.
ObjectivesTo understand the personal experiences of mine workers that have experienced job relocation due to silicosis at the Andina Division of Corporación Nacional del Cobre (CODELCO), Chile. The purpose of the study was to provide useful information for the development of new local, business and public policies for the care of workers with silicosis.MethodsA qualitative study based on a practical case study of 5 workers. The information was collected by means of structured individual interviews. The method of analysis was phenomenology.ResultsThe corporal axis was the most commented upon. It included awareness of the illness, body pains, fatigue, and antagonistic mood disorders (sadness, or the difficulty in finding meaning in life). As far as personal relationships, there was evidence of strong relationships with family, coworkers and friends, as well as extended family. Over all, the experience of relocation was positive with periods of impatience and uncertainty. The job reassignment provided a new and pleasant context for the relocated workers and in the process improved their perception of their quality of life.ConclusionsA multidisciplinary team should attend mine workers relocated because of silicosis by addressing the mental and physical aspects of their disease, along with the integral participation of close family members. It is suggested that this investigation be maintain over time to record the personal experiences in the medium-term, adding new cases with the intention of shedding more light on the phenomenon being studied. As a preventive measure, continual workshops are needed on the proper use of respiratory protection in addition, a group of monitors is required.
Assessing all the factors relating to working conditions that may impact on health and quality of life at work for Auxiliary sterilization. We performed a cross-sectional analytical study, we applied the CVT-GOHISALO instrument, which measures quality of life at work and the overall evaluation method LEST ergonomic working conditions for the analysis of the data was used the statistical program SPSS 18 software and online work ergonomics of the Polytechnic University of Valencia. In dimension institutional support for work, sterilization assistants, displayed no opportunities for advancement in position or role in the security dimension at work, feel injustice in promotion opportunities within the institution, in the integration dimension to the job, are motivated to overcome challenges and very willing to be leaders in job satisfaction dimension, are usually committed to the mission of the institution, in the dimension of being achieved through work, they risk physical health and mental health, personal development dimension, are optimistic and friendly service, in free time management dimension, fully comply with your schedule and the tasks without compromising their personal and social commitments. The working conditions in terms of posture, handling surgical equipment and tools presents imminent risk of fatigue. The sterilization assistants show a series of subjective perceptions that reflect the reality of their work environment, which should lead to the leadership in decision making towards improving work processes and thus reduce the risk factors that are evident in this study, which may cause physical and mental illness if not corrected early.
Introducción: Los países industrializados están sufriendo importantes transformaciones en su evolución demográfica, caracterizado por el envejecimiento de la población (disminución de la tasa de natalidad, incremento de la población adulta y aumento de la esperanza de vida). En España el decremento de la tasa pensionista/ cotizante conlleva a que en la actualidad se esté discutiendo en el gobierno el retraso en la edad de jubilación.
The objective of this research was to determine the level of psychosocial risk in the work of the members of health teams hospitals of the Ministry of Health of the Province of Córdoba. It was designed a descriptive cross-sectional study, about 844 workers of the health team from 23 public hospitals, selected using simple random probability sampling, with a confidence level of 95% and a sampling error of 5%. The instrument SUSESO ISTS-21, short version of the Superintendence of Social Security (SUSESO, in Spanish acronym) of the Chilean Government was applied. It was determined that psychosocial risks within more unfavorable situation (High risk) were matched with dimensions: Psychological Requirements (57,7%), social support and quality of leadership (56.2%) and Double presence (64%). The middle risk dominated the Compensation dimension (39%) and Low risk was more frequent in the active job and skill development dimension (42,9%). We conclude that the medical staff has a high frequency of exposure to psychosocial risks in the workplace, creating the need to investigate the determinants of these risks and establish measures to promote healthier work environments.

A nivel mundial, son cada vez más las personas que las utilizan en combinación con las terapias convencionales. Objetivo: Conocer los efectos que tienen las terapias integrativas utilizadas en el embarazo, la progresión del trabajo de parto y parto. Metodología: Se realizó una búsqueda en 6 bases de datos y se seleccionaron 25 artículos. Estos artículos describen distintas terapias: aromaterapia, acupresión, acupuntura, masajes, uso de medicamentos naturales, moxibustión, hipnosis, refl exología, musicoterapia, relajación, yoga e hidroterapia. Resultados: Las terapias integrativas tienen diferentes efectos en la salud perinatal. Embarazo: versión a presentación cefálica en casos de presentación podálica, aumento de los movimientos fetales, disminución de los síntomas de la depresión, relajación uterina, manejo estrés y ansiedad, reducción de embarazos de Pretérmino, Hipertensión y Retraso en Crecimiento Intrauterino. Trabajo de parto: para su inducción, disminución de su duración, menor uso de ocitocina, disminución del dolor, menor analgesia farmacológica, ansiedad, náuseas y vómitos y además proporcionarían relajación. Parto: algunas terapias tienen efectos en la disminución de desgarros perineales y el tipo de parto. Conclusiones: La mayoría de las terapias integrativas son útiles y producen numerosos benefi cios en la salud perinatal. Sin embargo, el impacto positivo está infl uenciado por el tipo de terapia, efecto y momento en que se administra la terapia. Una de las terapias más efectiva es la acupuntura. Se requieren más estudios para evaluar el impacto en el feto, recién nacido y para evaluar su efectividad junto al uso de terapias convencionales. Comprender los significados de la calidad de vida laboral en docentes de una universidad privada en Bogotá, Colombia, mediante su descripción, análisis e interpretación. Materiales y métodos.Enfoque cualitativo con diseño de estudio de casos. Se hicieron entrevistas individuales en profundidad que contemplaron los ejes temáticos de condiciones de trabajo, empresa, factores individuales y entorno social. Participaron docentes voluntarios de un programa de salud de pregrado, vinculados con cualquier tipo de contrato laboral vigente durante el periodo académico de julio a noviembre del año 2015. Los datos se analizaron con fundamento en los supuestos del construccionismo social de Berger y Luckmann. Los datos se analizaron en el programa Atlas ti.Resultados. La calidad de vida laboral significó la satisfacción de necesidades fisiológicas, de seguridad, de autorrealización, de reconocimiento y de autonomía en el manejo del tiempo, a pesar de la insatisfacción de las necesidades de claridad en ascensos, espacios físicos para sus hijos pequeños, tiempos de desplazamiento y ambientes de descanso.Conclusiones. La calidad de vida laboral tiene significados particulares en cada docente, pero existen aspectos comunes al considerarla vivificante, tales como: flexibilidad en el manejo del tiempo, atrayente, diversa, facilitadora de la autonomía para la toma de decisiones y control de sus actividades. La calidad de vida laboral significó la interacción de múltiples dimensiones del trabajo que favorecen la realización integral personal, familiar y social de los docentes universitarios.
