Com a chegada desta edição de número 15, a Revista Culturas Jurídicas (RCJ), periódico editado pelo Programa de Pós-Graduação em Direito Constitucional da Universidade Federal Fluminense (PPGDC/UFF), encerra o ano de 2019, seu sexto ano de existência e publicações. Neste novo número trazemos na linha editorial a temática Pesquisa Jurídica e Ensino em Direito Constitucional e Direitos Humanos, cujo desenvolvimento foi possível através do recebimento de contribuições provenientes de autores(as) e pesquisadores(as) brasileiros(as) e estrangeiros(as), sempre com foco na manutenção e elevação do nível de excelência já atingido por esta publicação, e que confere ao periódico a categoria de Qualis A2, atribuída pela CAPES.Como de costume, buscamos desta vez trazer os temas da Pesquisa Jurídica e do Ensino do Direito para o ambiente da América Latina e do Direito Constitucional, sendo estas as marcas que identificam a RCJ na comunidade acadêmica brasileira. Neste sentido, aqui trazemos treze artigos da lavra de professores(as) que lecionam Direito Constitucional em seus países e instituições, artigos de pesquisadores(as) que questionam o próprio ensino jurídico em si mesmo, bem como a pesquisa jurídica, fazendo-nos refletir sobre as escolhas que fazemos diuturnamente. Nosso primeiro artigo é da lavra do Professor Doutor Guillermo Luévano Bustamante, Doutor em Ciências Sociais com especialidade em Antropologia Social pelo Centro de Investigación y Estudios Superiores en Antropología Social (CIESAS), México; e Professor na Universidad Autónoma de San Luis Potosí (UASLP), também no México. Com o título "Formação crítica de Direitos Humanos através da clínica jurídica", o texto busca criticar o modelo de formação em pesquisa e, em geral, de ensino "tradicional" ou dominante no campo jurídico por ser vertical, autoritário, memorístico e excessivamente verbalizado. Isso, na visão do autor, implica que a função dos alunos seja normalmente passiva, pouco reativa e principalmente receptiva, havendo pouca incidência na execução de operações mentais e na execução de procedimentos jurídicos, tanto legislativos, administrativos, judiciais e de investigação por parte daqueles que frequentam as salas de aula das Faculdades de Direito. O autor segue defendendo que há modelos recentes de formação em pesquisa e ensino do Direito -como o ensino crítico -que estariam comprometidos com formas mais interativas e proativas e que demandam outras modalidades daqueles que ensinam no campo jurídico. Neste novo número trazemos na linha editorial a temática Culturas Jurídicas e Políticas Públicas: a vulnerabilidade social no ambiente natural/urbano, cujo desenvolvimento foi possível através do recebimento de contribuições provenientes de autores(as) e pesquisadores(as) brasileiros(as) e estrangeiros(as), sempre com foco na manutenção e elevação do nível de excelência já atingido por esta publicação, e que confere ao periódico a categoria de Qualis A2, atribuída pela CAPES.Como de costume, buscamos desta vez trazer os temas da Pesquisa Jurídica e do Ensino do Direito para o ambiente da América Latina e do Direito Constitucional, sendo estas as marcas que identificam a RCJ na comunidade acadêmica brasileira. Este novo número tem como linha editorial a temática "A transversalidade dos Direitos Humanos nas culturas jurídicas contemporâneas" e conta com importantes contribuições de autores e autoras do Brasil e de outros países, buscando manter e ampliar o nível de excelência que confere à revista a categoria de Qualis A2, atribuída pela CAPES Buscando apresentar abordagens e temas contemporâneos relativos à seara dos direitos humanos e sua transversalidade, o número 14 da Revista Culturas Jurídicas apresenta um rol de artigos agrupados em torno deste eixo temático que atravessa os mais diversos campos do conhecimento jurídico e do Direito Público, tais como o Direito Internacional,
É com grande satisfação que prosseguimos no sétimo ano da Revista Culturas Jurídicas, periódico editado pelo Programa de Pós-Graduação em Direito Constitucional da Universidade Federal Fluminense (PPGDC/UFF). O Volume 7 traz o número 17, que tem como linha editorial "Democracia nas culturas jurídicas: entre novos e velhos desafios". O número 17 conta com importantes contribuições de autores(as) brasileiros(as) e estrangeiros(as), de modo a trazer conteúdos de interesse da comunidade acadêmica e a manter o padrão de excelência e internacionalização alcançado nas edições anteriores, que garantiu ao periódico o estrato Qualis A2, conferido pela CAPES. Nesta edição, buscou-se uma abordagem da democracia em seus diferentes aspectos, trazendo debates e reflexões acerca dos riscos e problemas enfrentados nas diferentes culturas jurídicas. Para tanto, são tratadas desde questões essenciais -tais como legitimidade, rupturas e os direitos de diferentes nações que integram determinado povoaté problemáticas típicas da contemporaneidadenotadamente, aquelas ligadas ao uso da internet, redes sociais e Big Data.Os trabalhos veiculados na seção artigos propõem reflexões, discussões, recortes e temas que, em alguma medida/invariavelmente, tangenciam o eixo a partir do qual se estrutura esse número: a democracia nas culturas jurídicas. No entanto, a democracia é entendida aqui para além do exercício formal do voto que se circunscreve ao poder episódico de eleição dos representantes pelos governados. Trata-se de democracia como compromisso e realização de proteção dos direitos humanos em igualdade material e de participação efetiva desde um lugar de exercício não excludente ou exclusivo da autonomia. Nesse cenário, avultam-se desafios: novos e velhos.O primeiro bloco de artigos traz temas que são conhecidos pelo regime democrático, tais como responsabilidade jurídica, legitimidade e impactos do sistema capitalista, que retornam ao debate impulsionados por algum evento. Da mesma forma, apresenta grupos sociais sistematicamente excluídos e, portanto, alijados da experiência democrática plena. Este é o caso, por exemplo, dos indígenas, dos povos remanescentes de quilombos e das comunidades tradicionais que aparecem nas páginas desse número e expõem o velho desafio da igualdade material para que todos e todas participem desse espaço tendo garantidos e efetivados seus direitos.
