Pós Post treatment in Leprosy: a review about quality of life and cure concept ABSTRACTThe fragility of access to care, stigma and misinformation makes the post treatment in Leprosy cornered for affected. OBJECT: To explore the post treatment in Leprosy seeking more whole shares to holders and expansion of the concept of cure. METHODS: Search in databases: BVS, SCIELO, PUBMED, LILACS, BIREME and google scholar. The used terms were: leprosy, post-high, sequela, stigma, quality of life. RESULTS: Were selected 44 articles, dating from 1995 to 2012. The need for specific policies to address in patients who were discharged after cure was observed. It is demonstrated negative influence on quality of life (QOL) by socio-cultural aspects surrounding the disease, as well as by physical deformities. CONCLUSIONS: The adoption of specific interventions to the population post treatment in Leprosy is essential to the accomplishment of one of the guiding principles of the Health System, the integrality.
Objectives: to analyze the knowledge of caregivers and the factors associated with neuropsychomotor development in children. Methods: a cross-sectional study, with a quantitative approach, was conducted with 220 child-caregiver binomials attended in the public health services of the municipality of Parnaíba, State of Piauí. The study used the “Denver Test II” and the “Inventory of Child Development Knowledge”. Results: the study classified 197 children with natural development and 23 with suspicious development. Caregivers with a higher level of knowledge about child development were associated with children with better development. The study considered caregiver knowledge, gestational age, and exclusive breastfeeding as protective factors for appropriate neuropsychomotor development when used the regression model. Conclusions: actions aimed at indicators that presented positive associations must be implemented to improve child development, such as educational activities to increase the level of knowledge of caregivers, improvement of prenatal monitoring, and encouragement of breastfeeding.
Introduction: Kinesio Taping (KT) is a relatively new method, which has been gaining importance over the past 10 years because of the significant exposure in international sporting events, such as the Olympic games. Although it is widely used by health professionals during treatment, there are few studies that provide information to justify the use of this technique and the ways in which it is applied for the treatment or prevention of any musculoskeletal affliction that causes pain. Objective: Evaluate the effect of Kinesio Taping on cold-induced pain in young healthy individuals.Methodology: 85 subjects aged 18 to 38 were selected, divided into a control group (CG: 41) and experimental group (EG: 44). The protocol for induction of pain by cold was done with cold water (0ºC -2ºC), with immersion of the non-dominant hand. The variables analyzed were the pain threshold (PT), total time of immersion (TTI) and the pain intensity according to the visual analogue scale (VAS). Kinesio Taping was then applied in an "I" shape, starting from the distal third of the forearm until the end of the third metacarpal bone; in the CG, KT was applied without putting tension on the tape; in the EG, KT was tensioned at 25% for the application. The volunteers were instructed to keep the KT applied for 24 hours. After this period, the subjects returned to the place of evaluation, where the KT was removed and the pain induction by cold protocol was once again performed.
Abstract: Health is an essential factor for human development and one of the fields of action proposed in the context of the health promotion is the creation of favorable environments. The World Health Organization (WHO) develops a health policy that advocates the so-called active aging since the year 2002. The Physiotherapy, which the objective of study is especially the human movement, collaborates through its knowledge and physiotherapeutic resources aiming to facili tate the understanding of the factors that may cause a decrease in the elderly well-being and quality of life. The research had as general objective to describe the elderly perception about the physiotherapy performance in a health promotion program. It was used a qualitative and descriptive methodology in which 16 elderly people who participate in a Program of Physiotherapeutic Assistance dedicated to the third age at NAMI were interviewed. It was included in the research the elderly people who had a regular participation in the program and excluded the ones who got a total of 03 consecutive absences. The period of collected data was from May to July 2008 when it was conducted a semi-structured interview. The results indicate that the Physiotherapy contributed through the group in the elderly lives, motivating them to look for an assistance program. The loneliness is one of the major problems in old age. The daily life of these elderly was like that before joining in the assistance program, but there was a change of life after the program. Therefore, it was observed in the investigated group that the Physiotherapy contributes to the elderly health promotion through promoters groups of health that present benefits to the elderly and his network, extending to the ageing process. Key words: Aged; Health Promotion; Physiotherapy.
