(Boraginaceae), ervabaleeira, é uma planta medicinal com interesse comercial devido sua atividade anti-inflamatória. A espécie pode ser propagada por sementes, todavia a propagação vegetativa possibilita a obtenção de plantios mais uniformes em relação aos aspectos agronômicos e fitoquímicos. Nesse sentido, objetivou-se com o presente trabalho, avaliar o efeito da aplicação de diferentes concentrações de ácido indol butírico (AIB) e a confecção de estacas caulinares com diferentes números de folhas, na indução da rizogênese da espécie. O experimento foi conduzido no mês de agosto (estação de inverno), em arranjo fatorial 3x2, com três concentrações de AIB (0, 1500 e 3000 mg L -1 ) e dois tipos de estacas (estacas confeccionadas com duas folhas ou uma folha). O experimento foi conduzido em casa de vegetação com nebulização intermitente. Após 60 dias avaliouse a porcentagem de estacas enraizadas, número de raízes por estaca, comprimento das três maiores raízes por estaca, porcentagem de estacas com calos, porcentagem de estacas vivas não enraizadas, porcentagem de estacas mortas e porcentagem de estacas com brotação. Houve diferença significativa para número de raízes por estaca, que foi maior na concentração de 3000 mg L -1 em relação ao tratamento sem aplicação de AIB (32,5%), e para porcentagem de estacas com calos (15,0%), também maior para estacas com duas folhas na concentração de 3000 mg L -1 de AIB. Para os demais fatores não foi observada diferença estatística entre os tratamentos. Conclui-se que o número de folhas e diferentes concentrações de AIB tiveram baixa influência no enraizamento adventício da espécie, principalmente devido a estação de inverno. ABSTRACT:The aims of this research was to estimate genetic parameters of Eucalyptus macarthurii progenies and to predict genetic gain for different selection methods. In order to evaluate the gains, eleven progenies tests were studied. These tests were installed in 1997, in randomized blocks design, in two sites, with 5 replicates of five plants per plot. The progenies were evaluated, from the first to the eighth year, regarding the variable diameter at breast height (DBH). The genetic parameters were estimated using the mixed model procedure (REML/BLUP). The selection of the progenies for establishing a Clonal Seed Orchard was based on the analysis by location, joint analysis and on the harmonic mean of the relative performance of genotypic values (HMRPGV) with different selection intensities among and within families: three, four, five and six individuals per progeny with the selection of the top 30 individuals, taking into consideration the effective population size ( e N ). The best age to carry out the selection was seven years old, however, early selection can be made from age two onwards. Each environment characteristics influenced progenies phenotypic expression, so the higher gains in balance with e N , were estimated with the selection of individuals for each site, and the selection of five or six individuals per progeny. GANHOS GENÉTICOS POR DIFERENTES MÉTODOS DE SELEÇÃO EM PROGÊNIES DE Eucalyptus macarthurii EM DIFERENTES AMBIENTES RESUMO: O objetivo desta pesquisa foi estimar parâmetros genéticos de progênies deEucalyptus macarthurii e estimar ganhos genéticos por diferentes métodos de seleção. Foram utilizados testes de onze progênies, instalados em 1997 em blocos ao acaso, em dois ambientes, com 5 repetições de 5 plantas por parcela. Os indivíduos foram avaliados desde o primeiro ao oitavo ano, quanto à variável diâmetro à altura do peito. Os parâmetros genéticos foram estimados pela metodologia de modelos mistos (REML/ BLUP). A seleção de progênies para formação de Pomar Clonal de Sementes baseou-se na análise por local, análise conjunta e no método da média harmônica do desempenho relativo dos valores genéticos (MHPRVG) com diferentes intensidades de seleção entre e dentro de famílias: três, quatro, cinco e seis indivíduos por família, com seleção dos 30 melhores indivíduos, considerando-se o tamanho efetivo populacional ( e N ). RESUMOObjetivou-se verificar a viabilidade de sementes e a integridade do DNA de Ocotea puberula durante armazenamento, com e sem o fruto. Sementes de cinco lotes foram armazenadas com e sem fruto, em câmara fria e seca (UR 40% ± 3% e temp. 10 °C ± 2 °C), pelos períodos de 0, 3, 6 e 9 meses. A cada período foram determinados o teor de água, germinação (%), tetrazólio (%) e integridade do DNA. O teste de germinação foi realizado em papel germitest, em germinador a 30 °C, sob luz constante. O teste de tetrazólio foi realizado com solução na concentração de 0,5%, pelo período de 1 hora. A integridade do DNA das sementes foi analisada em gel de agarose e a concentração de DNA mensurada com espectrômetro NanoDrop  . Foi verificado que somente sementes armazenadas sem o fruto mantiveram sua germinação por até três meses. Após esse período, a germinação das sementes foi reduzindo-se gradativamente, sendo nula aos 9 meses. Na análise da integridade do DNA de sementes foi possível visualizar sua degradação ao longo do armazenamento. Sementes de O. puberula, com ou sem fruto, armazenadas em sacos de papel kraft reduzem sua viabilidade e integridade de DNA após 3 meses de armazenamento em câmara fria e seca.Palavras-chave: germinação, sementes recalcitrantes, canela-guaicá. Viability of Ocotea puberula (Rich.) Ness Seeds During Storage ABSTRACTThis study aimed to verify the DNA integrity and viability of Ocotea puberula seeds, with and without fruit, during storage. Seeds of five lots were stored, with and without fruit, in cold and dry chamber (40% ± 3% RH; 10 °C ± 2 °C) for 0, 3, 6, and 9 months. The following attributes were determined at each period: water content, germination potential (%), tetrazolium (%), and DNA integrity. Seed germination was conducted in germitest paper, in germinator at 30 °C under constant light. The tetrazolium test was performed in 0.5% solution for 1 hour. The DNA integrity of seeds was analyzed in agarose gel and DNA concentration was measured using a NanoDrop  spectrometer. The results showed that only seeds without fruit maintained germination for three months; after this period, the germination of seeds reduced gradually, becoming null after nine months. Seed degradation during storage was observed in the DNA integrity analysis. Ocotea puberula seeds, with or without fruit, stored in Kraft paper bags in cold and dry chamber had their viability and DNA integrity reduced after three months.

The aim of this study was to verify the influence of mini polytunnels on the quality of shoots produced in a black wattle clone garden. The treatments used were: T1 – clone garden with mini polytunnels inside the greenhouse; T2 – clone garden with no mini polytunnels inside the greenhouse; T3 – clone garden with mini polytunnels outside the greenhouse; and T4 – clone garden with no mini polytunnels outside thegreenhouse. These four treatments formed a 4 x 3 factorial along with three seasons of the year: winter/2015, summer/2015-2016, and autumn/2016. A randomized block design was used with six blocks and ten cuttings per plot. Survival rate, number of shoots per cutting, and mean shoot length were evaluated. Shoots were collected from the cuttings and a rooting experiment with the same design was installed. Rooting rate, rate of shoots with calluses, number of roots per shoot, and mean shoot length per cutting were evaluated. There was interaction between the environment in the clone garden and the season of the year. In the winter, the treatment with mini polytunnels outside the greenhouse (T3) showed the best results, mainly in what concerns to the rooting of shoots. Shoots survived in the four clone garden environments, and the lowest survival rates were observed in the autumn/2016 season. The best responses were observed in the summer season.

-The objective of this work was to evaluate the influence of types of drying on seeds' quality, as recalcitrant, Ocotea puberula and determine their degree of critical humidity and lethal degree. Seeds harvested in Brunópolis, SC, with an initial moisture content of 38%, were dried to 18%, with gradients of 2%; using the equation of target weight to ensure that gradient in the stove (35 oC) and in a desiccator with silica gel (25 oC). After drying, the seeds were evaluated for water content, percentage and germination speed index (GSI), tetrazolium and T50. It was observed that up to 32% water content did not change in seed quality, regardless of the type of drying and verified significant loss of germination after this value. We conclude that the type of drying does not affect the quality of the seed; however, because it is a recalcitrant seed, reducing the water content below 32% decreased germination, and its degree of critical humidity and seeds with 22% moisture content had no germination in this study is the degree of lethal humidity of this species.Key-words: Canela-guaicá; Recalcitrant seed; Water content.SECAGEM LENTA E RÁPIDA EM SEMENTES DE Ocotea puberula (Rich.) Ness RESUMO -Objetivou-se avaliar a influência de tipos de secagem na qualidade de sementes, consideradas recalcitrantes, de Ocotea puberula e determinar o seu grau de umidade crítico e grau letal. Sementes colhidas em Brunópolis, SC, com teor de água inicial de 38%, foram secas até 18%, com gradientes de 2%; utilizando a equação de peso alvo para garantir este gradiente, em estufa (35 oC) e em dessecador com sílica-gel (25 oC). Após cada secagem, as sementes foram avaliadas quanto ao teor de água, porcentagem e velocidade (IVG) de germinação, T50 e tetrazólio. Foi observado que até 32% de teor de água não houve alteração na qualidade das sementes, independente do tipo de secagem, sendo verificada significativa perda de germinação após esse valor. Conclui-se que o tipo de secagem não influencia na qualidade dessas sementes; porém, por tratar-se de uma semente recalcitrante, a redução do teor de água abaixo de 32% prejudica a germinação, sendo seu grau de umidade crítico e sementes com 22% de teor de água não tiveram germinação, sendo neste estudo o grau de umidade letal desta espécie.Palavras-chave: Canela-guaicá; Semente recalcitrante; Teor de água.

A acácia negra (Acacia mearnsii De Wild.) é utilizada como matéria-prima para a indústria de tanino, que é extraído da casca, celulose e pellets, além de contribuir para a recuperação de solos. Existe interesse no desenvolvimento da silvicultura clonal com a espécie, no entanto, há dificuldade de enraizamento adventício. Desta forma, o objetivo do presente trabalho foi avaliar o método de indução de brotações e a altura de corte das árvores de matrizes de três e cinco anos ao longo das estações do ano, visando o rejuvenescimento das brotações. Foram testados três métodos de indução de brotações: decepa, torniquete e inclinação forçada, combinados com cinco alturas de coleta (0,30; 0,40; 0,60; 1,20 e 2,0 m), nas quatro estações do ano, com árvores de três e cinco anos. O delineamento experimental foi em blocos casualizados, com 15 tratamentos, quatro repetições e seis plantas por parcela. Após 90 dias da instalação do experimento foram avaliadas a porcentagem de árvores com brotações, número de brotações por árvore e comprimento das três maiores brotações. No inverno a decepa respondeu melhor para porcentagem de árvores com brotações, número de brotações por árvore, já para o comprimento médio das três maiores brotações os métodos mais indicados foram a decepa e o torniquete. As alturas de corte de 1,20 e 2,0 m apresentaram os melhores resultados para quantidade de brotações, assim como o método de torniquete nas estações de primavera, verão e outono. As árvores de três e cinco anos responderam de forma semelhante, não diferindo na porcentagem de árvores com brotações e na quantidade de brotações por árvore.Palavras-chave: rejuvenescimento, propagação vegetativa, silvicultura clonal. ABSTRACTBlack wattle (Acacia mearnsii De Wild.) is used as raw material for tannin industry, which is extracted from bark, cellulose and pellets and contribute to recovery of degraded soils. There is interest in the development of clonal forestry with the species, however, there is difficulty of rescue of selected adult trees, resulting in low rooting percentages. This study aimed to evaluate induction methods of shoots at different heights of collection of 3 and 5 year-old donor-plants, in each season of the year, for reinvigoration to woody plants.Were tested three different methods: coppicing, tourniquet and forced inclination of individuals, combined with five different heights of collection (0.30, 0.40, 0.60, 1.20 and 2.0 m), in four season of the year, for the ages three and five years of the donor-plants. The experimental design was a randomized complete block, with 15 treatments, four replicates and six plants per plot, distributed in a 3x5 factorial scheme (three methods and five heights). Eucalyptus benthamii is an important species used in monoclonal and hybrid forest plantations around the world. Few natural populations of the species remain, and as such it has been placed on the list of endangered species. We sampled 111 seeds of Eucalyptus benthamii from nine progenies across two provenances (Candói - two progenies; Vale do Corisco - seven progenies). Samples were genotyped using 19 microsatellite loci. A high number of alleles (from 80 to 114) were found in the studied progenies.
