The reaction of calcium‐bis[bis(trimethylsilyl)amide] with two equivalents triethylgallium yields nearly quantitatively the addition product. In the solid state the calcium atoms are coordinated by two nitrogen atoms and two ethyl groups, whereas in solution all ethyl substituents are magnetically equivalent even at low temperatures. The Ca‐C‐Ga two‐electron three‐center bonds show mean Ca‐N and Ca‐C distances of 243 and 268 pm, respectively.

The Grignard reaction of 2,4,6-tri(tert-butyl)phenylmagnesium bromide with zinc dichloride in THF yields monomeric bis [2,4,6-tri(tert-butyl)phenyl]zinc (1). Due to the steric demand of the tert-butyl groups 1 has a bent CZnC moiety and the boatshaped aryl groups are in a staggered conformation. After the transmetallation of 1 with cesium in a solvent mixture of 1,2-dimethoxyethane (DME) and toluene (1,2-dimethoxyethane-O,OЈ)cesium [2,4,6-tri(tert-butyl)phenolate] (2) is isolated. A polymeric structure is formed in the crystalline state by linkage of these mol-* Prof. Dr. M. Westerhausen ecules via a Cs-O bond of the phenolate oxygen atoms and a η 6coordination of the aryl moiety of another molecule to the cesium cations. Furthermore, in the solid state the cesium cation completes his coordination sphere by bonds to a bidentate ether molecule and by close contacts to a tert-butyl group of a neighboring molecule.

Der Wasserstoff‐Metall‐Austausch zwischen Dibenzoylphosphan und Calciumcarbid in Tetrahydrofuran (THF) ergibt nach Zusatz des Liganden 1, 3, 5‐Trimethyl‐1, 3, 5‐triazinan (TMTA) den als Kokristallisat mit Benzol isolierten zweikernigen Komplex Bis[(tmta‐N, N′, N″)calcium‐bis(dibenzoylphosphanid)] (1a). In ähnlicher Weise führt die Umsetzung von Bis(2, 2‐dimethylpropionyl)phosphan mit Bis(thf‐O)calcium‐bis[bis(trimethylsilyl)amid] in 1, 2‐Dimethoxyethan (DME) mit guten Ausbeuten zum ‐Bis(dme‐O, O′)calcium‐bis[bis(2, 2‐dimethylpropionyl)phosphanid] (1b). Über die Reaktion von Bis(thf‐O)calcium‐bis[tris(trimethylsilylmethyl)zinkat] mit dem Kohlenstoffanalogon 1, 3‐Diphenylpropan‐1, 3‐dion (Dibenzoylmethan) bzw. 2, 2, 6, 6‐Tetramethylheptan‐3, 5‐dion (Dipivaloylmethan) erhält man im gleichen Solvens das einkernige Bis(dme‐O, O′)calcium‐bis(dibenzoylmethanid) (2a) und das zweikernige (μ‐dme‐O, O′)Bis[(dme‐O, O′)calcium‐bis(dipivaloylmethanid)] (2b). Überraschenderweise setzt sich das dabei gebildete Dialkylzink mit den 1, 3‐Diketonaten 2a und 2b nicht weiter um. Schließlich kann aus dem unsymmetrischen Liganden 2‐(Methoxycarbonyl)cyclopentanon und Bis(thf‐O)calcium‐bis[bis(trimethylsilyl)amid] in Toluol der dreikernige Komplex 3 als Kokristallisat mit Tetrahydrofuran erhalten werden; der β‐Ketoester‐Ligand verbrückt als Anion ausschließlich über die Cyclopentanon‐Einheit.

Die Reduktion der Chlor‐2, 3, 4, 5‐tetraethylphosphole mit Natrium, Kalium, Rubidium und Caesium in THF oder 1, 2‐Dimethoxyethan (DME) führt in guten Ausbeuten nach dem Umkristallisieren aus einer DME Lösung zu den Alkalimetall‐2, 3, 4, 5‐tetraethylphospholiden (DME)Na(PC4Et4) (1), K(PC4Et4) (2), (DME)Rb(PC4Et4) (3) und (DME)Cs(PC4Et4) (4). Wenn die Abtrennung des bei der Darstellung des Chlor‐2, 3, 4, 5‐tetraethylphosphols anfallenden Zirconocendichlorids nicht restlos gelingt, fällt bei dieser Reduktionsreaktion heteroleptisches (THF)CsC5H5·Cs(PC4Et4) (5) an. Während sich das Natrium‐Derivat 1 als Dimer abscheidet, kristallisieren die Phospholide 2 bis 4 der schweren Alkalimetalle als eindimensionale Polymere. Wegen der Größe des Kaliumkations sind keine weiteren Etherliganden an dieses Metallatom koordiniert und eine lineare Säule kristallisiert aus, während sich bei den Rb‐ und Cs‐Verbindungen die DME‐Komplexe bilden, die sich als Zickzack‐Kette abscheiden. Die Substitution der Hälfte der Phospholidanionen durch Cyclopentadienid‐Liganden in 5 führt in kristalliner Phase zu einem dreidimensionalen Netzwerk. Die Metathesereaktion des Kaliumderivates 2 mit GaCl3 und SnCl2 ergibt dimeres (DME)K[(μ‐Cl)4Ga2(PC4Et4)3] (6) und monomeres Sn(PC4Et4)2 (7). Während in den Alkalimetall‐phospholiden 1 bis 5 eine weitgehende Delokalisierung der anionischen Ladung innerhalb des fünfgliedrigen Rings und eine η5‐Koordination beobachtet wird, treten die 2, 3, 4, 5‐Tetraethylphospholidanionen zum Gallium(III)‐Atom in 6 und zum Zinn(II)‐Atom in 7 σ‐gebunden auf.

The reduction of 1-chloro-2,3,4,5-tetraethylarsole and -stibole with the alkali metals sodium, potassium, rubidium, and cesium in 1,2-dimethoxyethane (DME) or TMEDA yields the corresponding 2,3,4,5-tetraethylarsolides (L)M-AsC 4 Et 4 [(L)M ) (TMEDA)Na 1a, (DME) 2/3 K 1b, (DME)Rb 1c, and (DME)Cs 1d] and 2,3,4,5-tetraethylstibolides (L)M-SbC 4 Et 4 [(L)M ) (DME) 1/2 Na 2a, (DME)Rb 2c, and (DME)Cs 2d]. These compounds are characterized by NMR spectroscopy and X-ray structure determinations. Whereas 1a crystallizes with discrete dimeric molecules, all other compounds form one-dimensional polymers. With the exception of the sodium derivatives, all polymers show exclusively η 5 -coordination of the arsolide and stibolide substituents. For the sodium compounds 1a and 1b also Na-As and Na-Sb σ-bonds, respectively, are observed.

In einer thermisch induzierten Substitutionsreaktion mit 2,2‐Dimethylaziridin lassen sich die Pentacarbonyl‐Halogeno‐Komplexe [XM(CO)5] (M = Mn, Re; X = Cl, Br) (1a – 2b) zu den neutralen Bis‐Aziridin‐Komplexen [M(X)(CO)3Az2] (Az = N(H)C2H2Me2) (3a – 4b) umsetzen. Den Röntgenstrukturanalysen zufolge sind die Metallatome oktaedrisch in facialer Anordnung konfiguriert; die intakten Dreiringe sind über die verzerrt tetraedrisch konfigurierten N‐Atome gebunden. Verbindungen 3a – 4b sind hinsichtlich einer gezielten Alken‐Abspaltung unter Bildung von Nitren‐Komplexen stabil; ihre IR‐, 1H‐ und 13C{1H}‐NMR‐ und MS‐Spektren werden vorgestellt und diskutiert.
