Mikroskopisch erscheint die Magenschleimhaut im Grunde des Divertikels an uruschriebener Stelle hyperpiastisch verbreitert und ion Pankreasläppehen umlagert (Fig. 4). Ferrerhin liegen drüsigzystische Formationen von der Submukosa an besonders reichlich zwischen den Muskelbündeln bis zur Subserosa verstreut, und zwar so, daß sie besonders gegen die Pylorusgrenze, also schräg zur Achse des Magendivertikels, zunehmen. Einleitung.Als der eine yon uns (A.) vor 35 Jahren die Erkrankung der Muskulatur bei Morbus Basedowii, die lipomat6se Muskelatrophie mit der 6fters in Kernverschmelzung endigenden Kernwucherung mit Betei]igung der Muskelspindeln beschrieb, konnte eine Gegenfiberstellung mit gleichsinnigen regressiven Ver/inderungen in anderen Organen nicht leicht gefunden werden. Man konnte noeh an den gelegentlieh bemerkten Schwund der Behaarung und die h/~ufigeren AusfMlserseheinungen (Atrophie) am Genitalsystem denken. Nine Atrophie der Nebennieren, der Leber, yon Niere und Pankreas sind in den Protokollen vielfach aueh yon uns angegeben worden. Von dem Skelet dieser Kranken war damals wenig die Rede, obwohl v. Recklinghausen sehon mehrere gahre vorher (1891) under den F/~llen seiner klassischen Abhandlung in der Virchow-Festschrift fiber einen Fall yon Osteomalacie bei Basedowscher Krankheit ziemlieh eingehend beriehtet hatte. Eine Best/~tigung des gelegentliehen Zusammentreffens dieser beiden Krankheitsvorg/~nge schienen Revilliod (1895) und Haemig (1897) zu bringen. Solehe Beobachtungen standen noch so vereinzelt da, dag Bedenken fiber den urs~chlichen Zusammenhang zwischen dem Schilddrfisenleiden und der mehr oder weniger schweren Knochenerkrankung erhoben werdert konnten. Von Recklinghausen, der den gesteigerten Blutzuftut~ bzw. ZirkulationsstSrungen in den kausa]en Mitte]punkt der vier damals als anatomisch zugammengeh6rig betraehteten gemeinsam behande]ten Knochenprozesse: Osteomalacie, Ostitis Iibrosa, Ostitis deformans und osteoplastischer Carcinose stellte, land in den Kongestionen der Basedowschen Krankheit den gesuchten Vermittlungspunkt zu den anderen Zustgnden. Seither hat die Forschung die notwendige Trennung zwischen Atiologie und Pathogenese dieser Knochenprozesse vorgenommen. Pathogenetisch und morphogenetisch haben sie --das festgestellt zu haben, bleibt ein grol]es Verdienst des Forschers --manche gemeinsamen Zfige. Im klinisch-anatomischen Erscheinungsbi]de wie s stellen sie aber vier verschiedene Krankheitsvorg/tnge dar. Die Ostitis fibrosa wird nun erfreulicherweise auch yon der Innsbrucker Schule yon der Osteomalacie (Lang) etwas mehr abgetrennt, da die ~tiologische Klarstellung dazu zwang. Seit Griesinger (1) 1862 auf Grund seiner Zusammenstellung von 56 Fällen die Hirncysticerken als Basis organischer Hirnleiden -schätzen lehrte, hat man die mannigfachen Wirkungen dei' intrakraniellen Finnen beim Menschen oftmals studirt. An Orten, wo diese Parasiten bei Sektionen häufiger gesehen werden, wie z. B.in Königsberg, werden auch heute noch alljährlich ganz unerwartet obsolete, verkalkte Hirneysticerken angetroffen, als ein Hinweis darauf, dass ihre Ansiedelung in der Schädelhöhle ohne lesondere Störung verlaufen kann, wobei man natürlich zu bedenken hat, ob nicht manchmal zeitweise cerebrale Störungen bestanden haben, die von selbst verschwanden und darum eine andere ärztliche Deutung fanden. In zahlreichen Fällen werden indessen durch die Blasenwiirmer deutliche Gehirnsymptome, ja schwere zum Tode führende Erkrankungen hervorgerufen. Kopfschmerz, Schwindel und epileptische Convulsionen, nicht selten unter der Form der cortikalen Epilepsie, werden durch sie recht oft erzeugt, an schwere Hysterie erinnernde Zustände beobachtet, das ganze Symptomenbild des Hirntumors, psychische Störungen können sich einstellen, Sehstörungen zuweilen, Lähmungen, einschliesslich der Hemiplegie, seltener zu Tage treten. Einen Diabetes constatirte J. Michael (2) bei einem Kranken mit einem Cysticerkus im vierten Ventrikel. Es darf uns aber nicht genügen, die Aetiologie dieser Hirnleiden zu kennen, wir müssen auch nach den Ursachen forschen, durch welche diese wechselvollen Bilder zu Stande kommen. Dass die Aeusserungen der Krankheit ganz wesentlich von der Lokalisation ini Gehirn abhängen, ist bei einem Organ nut so scharf gesonderten funktionellen Territorien sehr bald erkannt worden. Dass auch ein einzelner Blasenwurm, selbst wenn er nicht die stattlichen Dimensionen eines traubig verzweigten Cysticercus (bis 15 und ca. 25 cm) besitzt, in diesem gegen Raumbeschrän-kungen so empfindlichen Organ manchmal bedenkliche Störungen auslöst, wird verständlich, wenn man erwägt, dass es sich um einen lebenden, mit Contraktilität begabten Eindringling handelt. Nicht ohne Berechtigung hat Marchand (3) das schnelle Auftreten und Verschwinden von Lähmungserscheinungen besonders beim Cysticereus racemosus auf die durch Wurmcontraktionen bedingte wechselnde Füllung der einzelnen Blasen geschoben. Dazu kommt, dass wir nach den Erfahrungen an den durch unsere Augen controllirbaren intraokularen (4) und Hautcysticerken (5) mit der Möglichkeit rechnen müssen, dass die Hirnfinnen vor ihrer definitiven Einkapselung eine Ortsveränderung, eine langsame Wanderung in der Schädelhöhle vorzunehmen befähigt sind. So betont y. Zenker (6), dass der traubige Cysticercus des Merkel'schen Falles sich kaum dauernd auf den vier Hügeln wie Rom auf seinen sieben Hügeln angesiedelt hätte, sondern wohl nur auf der Wanderung von der Hirnbasis oder einem Ventrikel aus an diesen Ort gelangt sei und hier seinem Träger einen jähen Tod bereitet hätte.
