Inspirada no estudo de caso etnográfico, a pesquisadora acompanhou, durante um semestre, um grupo de professores de uma escola estadual paulista. O trabalho de campo compreendeu: grupos reflexivos com professores e entrevistas individuais com coordenadora pedagógica, supervisora de ensino e professores.A análise qualitativa dos dados abordou principalmente o processo de implantação da Progressão Continuada na rede pública paulista e como, em seu interior, realiza-se a aprovação e a reprovação, a avaliação, o reforço, a frequência e o trabalho docente.A partir da pesquisa realizada, destacam-se as seguintes repercussões desta política pública sobre as escolas da rede pública paulista: a exclusão no interior da escola, que atinge alunos (promovidos automaticamente) e professores (apartados da discussão e planejamento desta proposta); a resistência docente a esta proposta (analisada da perspectiva política); o mal-estar docente vivido nesse contexto e a manutenção do preconceito que assola as escolas e atinge especialmente os alunos das classes populares. the official documents, the Union's perspective and the educational literature.Based on the ethnographic perspective, the researcher followed a group of teachers in a state school. ste artigo apresenta a atividade dos camelôs (trabalhadores ambulantes) através da consideração de suas trajetórias profissionais e de seu cotidiano, como uma tentativa de compreensão das relações sociais que permeiam essa forma de trabalho e também da influência do contexto político e econômico atual do Brasil nesse setor da economia.Como ponto de partida, levantou-se a seguinte questão: seria o trabalho de camelô uma alternativa de trabalho entre outras possíveis ou a única saída para o desemprego? Para tanto, foram realizadas entrevistas com alguns desses trabalhadores, com enfoque na trajetória profissional de cada um, através do relato de suas histórias de vida. Dessa forma, houve a possibilidade de emergência de um rico material de análise que permitiu a observação e a elucidação da dinâmica da relação da pessoa com o trabalho e os recursos oferecidos pelo meio, envolvidos direta ou indiretamente em tal relação. Consideramos importante a observação da inter-relação entre a história pessoal dos depoentes e o contexto histórico que envolve o processo de constituição de suas identidades profissionais, a fim de obter um maior esclarecimento do desenvolvimento de uma trajetória profissional, culminando no trabalho de camelô, bem como os fatores econômicos presentes na atualidade.Primeiramente, deve-se dizer que a existência dessa forma de comércio nos grandes centros urbanos, bem como do comércio informal em geral, é bastante polêmica e complexa. Se, por um lado, o sistema informal é, em parte, promotor de desenvolvimento econômico, por outro, é também nesse setor que se concentram atividades marginais ao próprio sistema. O presente artigo tem por objetivo criticar os discursos científicos que defendem a existência do Transtorno do Déficit de Atenção e Hiperatividade (TDAH) como doença neurobiológica de origem genética, e que, por conseguinte, apresentam propostas de diagnóstico e tratamento para crianças e adolescentes teoricamente portadores desse suposto transtorno. Para tanto, analisa um conjunto de publicações científicas sobre o tema, disponíveis no Scielo, banco de artigos científicos indexados de grande respeitabilidade, dando enfoque, sobretudo, ao campo da neurologia e da psicologia. As críticas sustentam-se a partir do debate em torno da medicalização da vida.
