Este trabalho objetivou caracterizar a pesca negativa das arraias de água doce no município de Juruá, Amazonas. Foram entrevistados 50 pescadores cadastrados na Colônia de Pescadores de Juruá, Z21. Os potamotrigonídeos foram capturados principalmente com malhadeiras. Ocorrem nove espécies de arraias de água doce no baixo Juruá, sendo as mais abundantes Potamotrygon motoro e Potamotrygon cf. scobina. Foram encontrados arraias de água doce nos lagos, rios e praias, com o período de maior ocorrência na vazante e seca do rio Juruá. O destino dados às arraias pelos pescadores após a sua pesca é o sacrifício dos animais (59%), mutilação (35%) e soltura na natureza (6%). Foi estimado que no ano de 2012 houve o sacrifício de 10.660|, mutilação de 3.562 e a soltura de apenas 286 arraias. Metade dos entrevistados sofreram acidentes com os potamotrigonídeos, com ataques principalmente nos pés (70%). Existe uma diversidade alta de potamotrigonídeos no baixo rio Juruá, que está diretamente associada a pesca negativa, nessa localidade é importante adotar medidas de educação ambiental com os pescadores para evitar a sobrepesca e dessa forma conservar esses elasmobrânquios na localidade.
O ensino de botânica constitui uma ferramenta fundamental no sentido de fortalecer a conscientização do uso, manejo e conservação ambiental. O desenvolvimento de atividades de ensino nos Espaços Não Formais (ENFs) amazônicos pode propiciar processos de aprendizado significativos para o ensino de botânica valorizando a biodiversidade de plantas regionais e consequentemente contribuindo para a formação de uma concepção ambiental. Desta forma o presente trabalho teve como objetivo relatar uma experiência da autora na construção de sua dissertação indicando como os EFNs amazônicos podem ser utilizados no processo de ensino disseminando conhecimentos quanto aos componentes da flora e sua importância para o meio ambiente. O estudo foi realizado no Instituto Federal de Educação Ciência e Tecnologia do Amazonas/IFAM por meio de entrevistas com alunos e professores do curso de Licenciatura em Ciências Biológicas. Trata-se de uma pesquisa de cunho qualitativo visando aprimoramento das ações coletivas no campo pedagógico, subsidiando os aspectos inovadores da autorreflexão. O diagnóstico permitiu observar qual a concepção que os alunos têm quanto a temática no início do curso de e como é trabalhado o tema em questão ao longo dos períodos. Posteriormente, realizou-se uma intervenção através de atividade desenvolvida nos ENFs. A pesquisa indicou que os conhecimentos botânicos podem ter melhor desenvolvimento e compreensão quando desenvolvidos em ENFs, desmistificando a botânica como de difícil compreensão, além de despertar a concepção ambiental como instrumento para a manutenção do ambiente equilibrado.
Os mapas mentais são procedimentos pedagógicos possíveis de identificar a percepção ambiental na educação básica. No sentido de desvelar o uso da técnica, o presente estudo explorou na revisão de literatura, a base para traçar o objetivo de analisar produções científicas referentes à Educação Ambiental, utilizando os mapas mentais por meio da metodologia Kozel no ensino fundamental. A busca em publicações nacionais ocorreu no Google Acadêmico no período de 2011 a 2021. Foram identificados 177 trabalhos, dos quais 15 apresentavam o propósito da investigação. Evidenciamos a adoção da prática com a metodologia Kozel em diversas variações, a maioria delas restritas à descrição das representações, em detrimento do modelo de Kozel no qual também se inclui o olhar fenomenológico em Merleau-Ponty e o gênero do discurso em Bakhtin.
